This is not a bland hotel room but a home where you can see generations of families growing up. The lodge is an ideal adventure basecamp for all southeast Utah has to offer.

The property is designed with 360-degree views of some of the most scenic landscape mother nature has to offer. The lodge sits on 3-acres of private property with every amenity we could think to provide from your own private hot tub, game room and miles of hiking trails. This property is perfect for family or friend reunions and corporate retreats. A fully stocked kitchen and multiple large gathering spaces offer plenty of room to stretch out and enjoy the breathtaking views.

The lodge is designed with mostly all suites with 6 bathrooms. There is also a loft with 6 individual places and additional sofa-beds and memory foam mattresses. Your group will enjoy spacious accommodations with plenty of room for everyone and all your activities.

There is plenty of parking for multiple vehicles, trailers and ATV's. RV hookups are also available on the property. The property is ideally located 15 minutes south of Monticello and 15 minutes north of Blanding.

Come vacation with us in our rustic bunkhouse located on Montezuma Canyon Ranch & Vineyards. We have some of the most spectacular night skies, beautiful mornings, and amazing scenery. While at the ranch you can watch a movie in a cave, hike, bike or explore ruins without leaving the canyon.

The bunkhouse is approximately 750 sq. ft. and was recently renovated. It has a covered wrap around deck great for relaxing. The kitchen, dining and living room are combined in one open room. Bedroom one has a double bed and two twin beds. Bedroom two has two twin beds and one set of twin bunkbeds. The bathroom is roomy with a large shower and large vanity. And if you want some fresh air while you shower, take it outside to the private outdoor shower. The bunkhouse is great for large families or groups.

Things to know before booking with us.
When you book with us you are not staying with a big corporation that owns many vacation rentals. You are staying at a family-owned ranch, we are your contacts, cleaners, and maintenance crew. We have three rentals, enough to stay busy but not so many that we lose our focus on good customer service. We care deeply about our ranch, our rentals and want your stay to be as amazing as possible.
Please book with the correct number of guests. Reason number one, we do not charge an additional cleaning fee because 1 guest should not pay as much as 8. But we do add a small additional fee for each guest to cover the additional cleaning for more guests. Reason number two, safety, in case of an emergency it is nice to know how many people are staying on our property.
There is no cell service at the ranch. We do have limited Wi-Fi and a ranch phone for emergencies. We have satellite internet. On a good day, the top download speed is 25mbps, but usually it is a lot slower than that. Our internet cannot support working remotely.
We are located 16 miles southeast of Monticello Utah. It is a 30–40-minute drive to the nearest gas station and grocery store. 10.5 miles of that drive is dirt road. The scenery and peacefulness more than make up for the long trek to town. This may be a deal breaker for some, but I believe that these are two things that make this cabin and location truly special. There is nothing to interrupt the time spent with your company and enjoying the beauty of the canyon.
Dirt Road Conditions – The road is maintained by San Juan County Road Department. During the summer months the road is easy to travel. Winter Guests, December through February AWD or 4WD is required because of snow. November and March weather varies so always check in about road conditions. We do recommend having a good spare tire in your vehicle and if you plan on touring the canyon, high ground clearance is strongly recommended.
Weather – Blanding Utah mirrors our weather and temperatures better than Monticello Utah.
Well Pump – Our ranch water is supplied from an agricultural well that is pumped with a diesel engine. When we have guests, we try to minimize the time we run the well pump to cut down on noise disturbance. We do not start the pump before 7a.m. and turn it off no later than 7p.m. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience.
Solar Power – The ranch and bunkhouse are completely off-grid and depend on mother nature to provide our power. This makes power preservation especially important. Only use necessary lights and appliances. The bunkhouse rarely loses power, the system is just too small for some appliances. We do have a backup generator for emergencies.
The primary heat source is a wood burning stove and we provide free firewood to heat the bunkhouse. The bathroom has a propane wall unit heater to supplement on those extra chilly nights and mornings.
The bunkhouse does not have an oven, but does have a microwave, gas cook top, toaster, and propane grill.
The coffee maker is a 12-cup drip coffee maker or stove top percolator, and we provide coffee and sugar.
The bunkhouse does not have laundry facilities.
Summer Guests - The bunkhouse does not have air conditioning, but we have fresh canyon air and nice cross breezes. Specifically, July and August guests, we are in the desert, and it can get quite warm. If you like it hot, then we have your place.
Outdoor Fire Pit - Please bring your own firewood to use the fire pit. We have firewood bundles available for purchase at the Montezuma Market for your convenience.
Smoking is not allowed inside of the bunkhouse. If you choose to smoke outside, please pick up after yourself and be conscious of fire danger and keep the yard and outdoor areas clean and litter free.
Montezuma Market – Located at the ranch, we have fresh organic produce, eggs, preserves, pickles, and juice for sale. We also support local artisans and crafty friends by selling their wares. We accept Cash, Checks, Credit and Debit.
The Grapevine Cave & Lounge is a manmade cave and is shared with 2 other property rentals at Montezuma Canyon Ranch & Vineyards. It is a great place to watch movies, hang out and play games.
We do not have wine available yet. We are steadily working towards that goal.

- "What an amazing stay. The bunkhouse is located at the bottom of a real canyon and isolated from most of the world. It was so peaceful and amazing. The property was clean and more then we expected. For being off the grid we never had any power or water issues. The propane powered refrigerator did struggle a little in the heat but all our food stayed cold. This place is a one of a kind unique stay. With the environmentally clean off the grid footprint. The cabin has its own power with solar and batteries. The generator will automatically start when more power is required and the batteries need charging. Water comes from a well and stored in large underground water tanks. There are portable evaporative coolers to help cool down the cabin on hot days.

This cabin has an open floor space to enjoy the company of your group. There are 2 bedrooms in the main living area. One has a queen bed and the other has two bunks with a full on the bottoms with plenty of headroom for adults. There is also an attached RV which adds one more queen bed and a futon.

The cabin is located on 9+ acres and some swear that we’ve seen bigfoot runnin round hear.
There is a small playground area, including horseshoe pits, a balance beam path and partially buried tires.
If you like to explore, just off the property you can find some old Indian house ruins. Some of them are hard to get to. Others you can see write from the dirt roads.

The road getting there is a little rough, so driving the final stretch of the way might be challenging if you have a small car and there’s bad weather, but that’s understandable when you get this level of seclusion and is something the owner can help with. Speaking of which, the owner was extremely attentive and accommodating. He even gave us directions for short hikes to local archeological sites that were really impressive."

Charming one bedroom and one bath cabin with a small loft. Our cabin overlooks the vineyard and large orchards with beautiful canyon walls as the backdrop. We often try to describe our place to outsiders, but words can't put it into perspective. You have to see it and experience it for yourself. There is plenty to see and do so you can spend your whole vacation at the cabin or get out and see all that Southeastern Utah has to offer.
The cabin is approximately 900 sq. ft. The kitchen, dining and living rooms are combined in one open room with cathedral ceilings. The bathroom is separate and has access from the living room or queen bedroom. The queen bed is in a separate room and the double bed is in a loft above the dining room. You can enjoy the morning sun, orchard views and a cup of coffee from the front porch. During the day you can challenge travel mates to a game of Corn Hole or Giant Connect 4. - "This is a great little find. Booked through Expedia/Vrbo. This Log Cabin was perfect for a stay with the family and our dog. We were visiting the near by National Parks and used this cabin as our homebase. (There are five National Parks with in an hour and a half drive: Arches, Mesa Verde, Canyonlands, Natural Bridges, Hovenweep). The cabin was well lighted with celling fans, beds were comfortable and the shower had nice hot water. There were cards, games and coloring books when we were there. Located off a quite country road with great dark skies and a rustic atmosphere. We walked our dog on the country lane and stargazed at night. The cabin was easy to find with a well maintained road which did well when it rained very hard. There was also a firepit and picknick table outside. We like staying in unique locations and this cabin will be another great memory for our family. "

Come vacation with us in our rustic bunkhouse located on Montezuma Canyon Ranch & Vineyards. Reminiscent of a cowboy bunkhouse on a working cattle ranch, our little bunkhouse sleeps 8. While it may be small on the inside, the outside offers a large deck with some of the best views of the ranch where you can enjoy a cup of coffee while the sun peeks into the canyon. At the end of the day, you can roast marshmallows and hot dogs around the firepit while taking in the beautiful night skies.

The space
The bunkhouse is approximately 750 sq. ft. and was recently renovated. It has a covered wrap around deck great for relaxing. The kitchen, dining and living room are combined in one open room. Bedroom one has a double bed and two twin beds. Bedroom two has two twin beds and one set of twin bunkbeds. The bathroom is roomy with a large shower and large vanity. And if you want some fresh air while you shower, take it outside to the private outdoor shower. The bunkhouse is great for large families or groups.

Guest access
Guests will have the entire bunkhouse and outdoor spaces to themselves. Parking is free with plenty of room. The Grapevine Cave & Lounge is shared with guests from the 2 other property rentals on the ranch.

There is no cell service at the ranch. We do have Starlink Wi-Fi available at the bunkhouse.
We do not charge an additional cleaning fee. One guest should not have to pay the same as 4 guests. We charge a small fee for each additional guest and the cleaning is covered by a percentage of the total booking cost. Please make your reservation with the correct number of guests.
We are located 16 miles southeast of Monticello Utah. It is a 30–40-minute drive to the nearest gas station and grocery store. 10.5 miles of that drive is dirt road. The scenery and peacefulness more than make up for the long trek to town.
Dirt Road Conditions – The road is maintained by San Juan County Road Department. During the summer months the road is easy to travel. Winter Guests, December through February AWD or 4WD is required because of snow. November and March weather varies so always check in about road conditions. We do recommend having a good spare tire in your vehicle and if you plan on touring the canyon, high ground clearance is strongly recommended.
Weather – Blanding Utah mirrors our weather and temperatures better than Monticello Utah.
Solar Power – The ranch and bunkhouse are completely off-grid and depend on mother nature to provide our power. This makes power preservation especially important. Only use necessary lights and appliances. The bunkhouse rarely loses power, the system is just too small for some appliances. We do have a backup generator for emergencies.
Well Pump – Our ranch water is supplied from an agricultural well that is pumped with a diesel engine. When we have guests, we try to minimize the time we run the well pump to cut down on noise disturbance. We do not start the pump before 7a.m. and turn it off no later than 7p.m.
The primary heat source is a wood burning stove and we provide free firewood to heat the bunkhouse. The bathroom has a propane wall unit heater to supplement on those extra chilly nights and mornings.
The bunkhouse does not have an oven, but does have a microwave, gas cook top, toaster, and propane grill.
The coffee maker is a 12-cup drip coffee maker or stove top percolator, and we provide coffee and sugar.
The bunkhouse does not have laundry facilities.
Summer Guests - The bunkhouse does not have air conditioning, but we have fresh canyon air and nice cross breezes. Specifically, July and August guests, we are in the desert, and it can get quite warm. If you like it hot, then we have your place.
Outdoor Fire Pit - Please bring your own firewood to use the fire pit. We have firewood bundles available for purchase at the Montezuma Market for your convenience.
Smoking is not allowed inside of the bunkhouse. If you choose to smoke outside, please be conscious of fire danger and keep the yard and outdoor areas clean and litter free.
Montezuma Market – Located at the ranch, we have fresh organic produce, eggs, preserves, pickles, and juice for sale. We also support local artisans and crafty friends by selling their wares. We accept Cash, Checks, Credit and Debit.
The Grapevine Cave & Lounge is a manmade cave and is shared with 2 other property rentals at Montezuma Canyon Ranch & Vineyards. It is a great place to watch movies, hang out and play games.
We do not have wine available yet. We are steadily working towards that goal.

There are dogs on the ranch, and you may meet them during your stay. The dogs are friendly and not aggressive. They will most likely bark if they see you because they don’t recognize you, but if you kindly greet them, they will be glad to come and say hello. Vinny is an Australian Cattle dog and likes to bark because he has a lot to say, Willy is a Chocolate Labrador and wants to walk between your legs to make sure you notice him. My two dogs, Quigley and Ziggy come to work with me every day at the ranch. They are pound pups and will most likely run past on a mission to hunt squirrels and lizards.

Come vacation with us in our cozy cabin located on Montezuma Canyon Ranch & Vineyards. We have some of the most spectacular night skies, beautiful mornings, and amazing scenery. Our cabin is the best place to relax, unplug and it is a truly magical place to catch your breath. You can even hike, bike or explore ruins without leaving the canyon.

The space
The cabin is approximately 1000 sq. ft. The kitchen, dining and living rooms are combined in one open room with cathedral ceilings. The bathroom is separate and has access from the living room or queen bedroom. The queen bed is in a separate room and the double bed is in a loft above the dining room. You can enjoy the morning sun, orchard views and a cup of coffee from the front porch. End the day on the back-deck grilling dinner on the gas grill and eating outside in the fresh air.

Smoking is not allowed inside of the cabin. If you choose to smoke outside, please pick up after yourself and be conscious of fire danger and keep the yard and outdoor areas clean and litter free.
We do not allow pets.
Most local stores, including the grocery store, are closed on Sunday.
At the cabin we have a guest manual with detailed instructions on how to work everything. Also, there is a self-guided tour of Montezuma Canyon to enjoy. For local shopping and restaurant info check out my guidebook on Airbnb.
Montezuma Market – Located at the ranch, we have fresh organic produce, eggs, preserves, pickles, and juice for sale. We also support local artisans and crafty friends by selling their wares. We accept Cash, Checks, Credit and Debit.
The Grapevine Cave & Lounge is a manmade cave and is shared with 2 other property rentals at Montezuma Canyon Ranch & Vineyards. It is a great place to watch movies, hang out and play games.
We do not have wine available yet. We are steadily working towards that goal.

There are dogs on the ranch, and you may meet them during your stay. The dogs are friendly and not aggressive. They will most likely bark if they see you because they don’t recognize you, but if you kindly greet them, they will be glad to come and say hello. Vinny is an Australian Cattle dog and likes to bark because he has a lot to say, Willy is a Chocolate Labrador and wants to walk between your legs to make sure you notice him. My two dogs, Quigley and Ziggy come to work with me every day at the ranch. They are pound pups and will most likely run past on a mission to hunt squirrels and lizards.

**IMPORTANT SUMMER INFO...During summer months, June-August, this unit will be very warm and will take a while to cool off when the sun sets. There is no AC, we provide a fan and a large sun shade covers the unit and deck. However, if you are sensitive to the heat, you may find more comfort in one of the bell tents or the Skylight Casita (Casita has AC). The tents will still be warm but the canvas and many windows do not trap in the heat.

We work to reduce waste by supporting businesses that focus on the environment, health and using non-plastic products where we can. We use simple, clean, natural cleaning products. We do not use single use plastic and provide washable cotton paper towels and hand towels. We work with locals to bring you tours, pastries, breads and hand crafted souvenirs for you to remember your trip.

COMMUNAL BATHROOMS:
We do not have your average communal camping bathrooms. 4 modern private bathrooms are kept spotless for our guests. A one of a kind skygazing domed bathroom offers an outdoor showering experience without the bugs and dirt. 2 full bathrooms, 1 toilet room and 1 shower room provide plenty options for everyone.

COMMUNAL KITCHEN AND GRILLING DECK:
Fully equipped with stove (no oven) pots, pans, seasoning, plates, cutlery, mixing bowls, washing up supplies, etc.
Refrigerator available to all guests. Coolers also available to borrow during your stay and to take on your adventures (no ice).
Power is only to run the refrigerator. No outlets or microwave is available. French Press, pour over maker, coffee and tea supplies are free for you to use. Solar powered string lights light the kitchen at night.

Located on private and rural land 40 mins South of Moab and 40 mins from the entrance of The Needles District of Canyonlands National Park (the hikers paradise park!)
Our land borders Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands and State Trust Lands which means you have a panoramic view of the desert landscape and dark skies.
We are surrounded by Dark Sky National Parks, State Park, Monuments and communities. Because of this, light population is almost non-existent.

We built this place to be an escape or a place to unwind from our busy and loud daily lives. Embrace the break from the daily grind and find space here on the open desert.
We opened to our first guests in October 2020 with only 3 bell tents, 1 bathroom and a kitchen inside a tent. Even though we have grown and improved the facilities, we are still a small husband and wife owned and run business. You will see us working and cleaning. When you call, email or have questions, you will be talking with us.

We have 22 acres plus we are backed onto State Trust Lands and BLM for hours of hiking, walking and mountain biking.

Parking is free and any vehicle is welcome!

The office closes at 6pm and reopens at 8am. However, we live on site so will be available by phone

CHECK IN. Check in is anytime after 3pm. If you arrive after the office closes at 6pm, we have a simple self check in process. Your name will be on a mailbox with a laminated sheet that includes a camp map and instructions. More details will be sent 7 days prior to your arrival via Airbnb message

NO PETS. However, we have 1 dog, free range kittens and many free range chickens. They will visit you in the parking lot, at the office, the kitchen and possibility even your unit. We've had some guests who are warry of chickens so please keep this in mind. They are friendly and fun to watch so nothing to be worried about..

2 GUESTS MAX. Do not break this VERY simple rule. We have other units that can sleep up to 4.

POWER. Units do not have electricity. We provide battery packs to charge your phones. We do rent Jackery Power Units if you need power.

This place is a one of a kind unique stay. With the environmentally clean off the grid footprint. The cabin has its own power with solar and batteries. The generator will automatically start when more power is required and the batteries need charging. Water comes from a well and stored in large underground water tanks. There are portable evaporative coolers to help cool down the cabin on hot days.

The space
This cabin has an open floor space to enjoy the company of your group. There are 2 bedrooms in the main living area. One has a queen bed and the other has two bunks with a full on the bottoms with plenty of headroom for adults. There is also an attached RV which adds one more queen bed and a futon.

The cabin is located on 9+ acres and some swear that we’ve seen bigfoot runnin round hear.

If you like to explore, just off the property you can find some old Indian house ruins. Some of them are hard to get to. Others you can see right from the dirt roads.

The main cabin provides a full size kitchen with modern amenities which include stove, coffee maker, refrigerator, and toaster. The bedroom includes a full sized bunk, window full size bed and a full size bathroom. The two studio cabins include a queen or king size bed, bathroom and a small kitchenette.
