This is not a bland hotel room but a home where you can see generations of families growing up. The lodge measures 3700+ sq. ft and is located next to Bears Ears National Monument, 20 miles from Canyonlands National Park and a short drive to Arches National Park & Mesa Verde. The lodge is an ideal adventure basecamp for all southeast Utah has to offer.

The Space:
The property is designed with 360-degree views of some of the most scenic landscape mother nature has to offer. The lodge sits on 3-acres of private property with every amenity we could think to provide from your own private hot tub, game room and miles of hiking trails. This property is perfect for family or friend reunions and corporate retreats. A fully stocked kitchen and multiple large gathering spaces offer plenty of room to stretch out and enjoy the breathtaking views.

The lodge is designed with mostly all suites with 6 bathrooms. There is also a loft with 6 individual places and additional sofa-beds and memory foam mattresses. Your group will enjoy spacious accommodations with plenty of room for everyone and all your activities.

There is plenty of parking for multiple vehicles, trailers and ATV's. RV hookups are also available on the property. The property is ideally located 15 minutes south of Monticello and 15 minutes north of Blanding.

Come vacation with us in our rustic bunkhouse located on Montezuma Canyon Ranch & Vineyards. We have some of the most spectacular night skies, beautiful mornings, and amazing scenery. While at the ranch you can watch a movie in a cave, hike, bike or explore ruins without leaving the canyon.

The bunkhouse is approximately 750 sq. ft. and was recently renovated. It has a covered wrap around deck great for relaxing. The kitchen, dining and living room are combined in one open room. Bedroom one has a double bed and two twin beds. Bedroom two has two twin beds and one set of twin bunkbeds. The bathroom is roomy with a large shower and large vanity. And if you want some fresh air while you shower, take it outside to the private outdoor shower. The bunkhouse is great for large families or groups.

Things to know before booking with us.
When you book with us you are not staying with a big corporation that owns many vacation rentals. You are staying at a family-owned ranch, we are your contacts, cleaners, and maintenance crew. We have three rentals, enough to stay busy but not so many that we lose our focus on good customer service. We care deeply about our ranch, our rentals and want your stay to be as amazing as possible.
Please book with the correct number of guests. Reason number one, we do not charge an additional cleaning fee because 1 guest should not pay as much as 8. But we do add a small additional fee for each guest to cover the additional cleaning for more guests. Reason number two, safety, in case of an emergency it is nice to know how many people are staying on our property.
There is no cell service at the ranch. We do have limited Wi-Fi and a ranch phone for emergencies. We have satellite internet. On a good day, the top download speed is 25mbps, but usually it is a lot slower than that. Our internet cannot support working remotely.
We are located 16 miles southeast of Monticello Utah. It is a 30–40-minute drive to the nearest gas station and grocery store. 10.5 miles of that drive is dirt road. The scenery and peacefulness more than make up for the long trek to town. This may be a deal breaker for some, but I believe that these are two things that make this cabin and location truly special. There is nothing to interrupt the time spent with your company and enjoying the beauty of the canyon.
Dirt Road Conditions – The road is maintained by San Juan County Road Department. During the summer months the road is easy to travel. Winter Guests, December through February AWD or 4WD is required because of snow. November and March weather varies so always check in about road conditions. We do recommend having a good spare tire in your vehicle and if you plan on touring the canyon, high ground clearance is strongly recommended.
Weather – Blanding Utah mirrors our weather and temperatures better than Monticello Utah.
Well Pump – Our ranch water is supplied from an agricultural well that is pumped with a diesel engine. When we have guests, we try to minimize the time we run the well pump to cut down on noise disturbance. We do not start the pump before 7a.m. and turn it off no later than 7p.m. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience.
Solar Power – The ranch and bunkhouse are completely off-grid and depend on mother nature to provide our power. This makes power preservation especially important. Only use necessary lights and appliances. The bunkhouse rarely loses power, the system is just too small for some appliances. We do have a backup generator for emergencies.
The primary heat source is a wood burning stove and we provide free firewood to heat the bunkhouse. The bathroom has a propane wall unit heater to supplement on those extra chilly nights and mornings.
The bunkhouse does not have an oven, but does have a microwave, gas cook top, toaster, and propane grill.
The coffee maker is a 12-cup drip coffee maker or stove top percolator, and we provide coffee and sugar.
The bunkhouse does not have laundry facilities.
Summer Guests - The bunkhouse does not have air conditioning, but we have fresh canyon air and nice cross breezes. Specifically, July and August guests, we are in the desert, and it can get quite warm. If you like it hot, then we have your place.
Outdoor Fire Pit - Please bring your own firewood to use the fire pit. We have firewood bundles available for purchase at the Montezuma Market for your convenience.
Smoking is not allowed inside of the bunkhouse. If you choose to smoke outside, please pick up after yourself and be conscious of fire danger and keep the yard and outdoor areas clean and litter free.
Montezuma Market – Located at the ranch, we have fresh organic produce, eggs, preserves, pickles, and juice for sale. We also support local artisans and crafty friends by selling their wares. We accept Cash, Checks, Credit and Debit.
The Grapevine Cave & Lounge is a manmade cave and is shared with 2 other property rentals at Montezuma Canyon Ranch & Vineyards. It is a great place to watch movies, hang out and play games.
We do not have wine available yet. We are steadily working towards that goal.

- "What an amazing stay. The bunkhouse is located at the bottom of a real canyon and isolated from most of the world. It was so peaceful and amazing. The property was clean and more then we expected. For being off the grid we never had any power or water issues. The propane powered refrigerator did struggle a little in the heat but all our food stayed cold. The caretaker of the property was very responsive to all our needs. Loved the real cave lounge that was on the property to use. 5+ stars for this property and our stay."

Looking at staying at the RedNeck Ranch?

This place is a one of a kind unique stay. With the environmentally clean off the grid footprint. The cabin has its own power with solar and batteries. The generator will automatically start when more power is required and the batteries need charging. Water comes from a well and stored in large underground water tanks. There are portable evaporative coolers to help cool down the cabin on hot days.

This cabin has an open floor space to enjoy the company of your group. There are 2 bedrooms in the main living area. One has a queen bed and the other has two bunks with a full on the bottoms with plenty of headroom for adults. There is also an attached RV which adds one more queen bed and a futon.

The cabin is located on 9+ acres and some swear that we’ve seen bigfoot runnin round hear.
There is a small playground area, including horseshoe pits, a balance beam path and partially buried tires.
If you like to explore, just off the property you can find some old Indian house ruins. Some of them are hard to get to. Others you can see write from the dirt roads.

2 miles down a dirt road, not recommended for compact or sports cars but maybe possible with larger sedans with a higher clearance.

The property is huge – so large that you can’t even see from one end to the other. Our dogs got to spend the whole trip running around and playing. The house is big enough to accommodate large groups, but it still felt comfortable with just my wife and I staying there. All of the utilities worked well. We were especially impressed by an internet connection that let both of us be on webcam meetings at the same time. The road getting there is a little rough, so driving the final stretch of the way might be challenging if you have a small car and there’s bad weather, but that’s understandable when you get this level of seclusion and is something the owner can help with. Speaking of which, the owner was extremely attentive and accommodating. He even gave us directions for short hikes to local archeological sites that were really impressive."
