- "Old & dated but cute little cottage for our 10-day stay in town for the County Fair. Very quiet location but just a couple of blocks from the main street through town & 3 blocks from a grocery store. Bed was comfortable and shower was clean and powerful. Towels were plush. Kitchen was very small but adequate. One tiny window A/C unit in the bedroom struggled a bit to keep up with the unusual 100+ degree heat, but cooled down comfortably at night. Be aware personal toiletries are not provided here. Cissy was very friendly & available to help in any way needed; we enjoyed our visits with her & Wes and their kids next door."

- "Gary and Laurieann were gracious hosts. We absolutely loved staying at the cabin on their property. The cabin was exactly as described and perfect for my husband and me. We enjoyed watching the elk across the pasture from the cabin in the late evening as well as visiting the horses on the property. Gary provided us a wealth of information on things to do in the area and the proximity to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park was awesome as it was no more than 15 minutes away. The short 20 minute drive to Montrose for dinner was very nice with lots of dining options. Thank you so much for sharing this piece of heaven with us!! We’re already looking forward to returning."

This home is located in downtown Montrose, just 30 minutes from the San Juan mountains, and Ridgway reservoir. It is minutes away from bike paths, coffee shops, downtown shopping and restaurants, the Uncompaghre River Sports Park, Black Canyon National Park, and amazing recreation parks! This cute little cottage is clean and peaceful. It is quaint and comfortable with AC, WIFI fully stocked kitchen, and a 58" TV in the living room along with another one in the bedroom that is smaller. Both TVs have Roku guest mode so you can sign into your favorite apps or watch any number of free channels inclided! . The bathroom has a brand new renovation. The whole cottage has been newly renovated with fresh paint, new landscaping, and brand new furniture, dishes and appliances! There is a cute little porch with seating and a raised garden with vegetables and herbs. This cute little cottage is peaceful and private, it is fully surrounded by a 6-ft privacy fence. There are two gates and both lock from the inside.
Montrose is a great location for all your adventures, it is just 3 hours away from Moab, 30 minutes away from Ridgway Reservoir, 20 minutes away from Black Canyon of the Gunnison, and an hour from Grand Mesa, the worlds largest flat top mountain with 300 lakes.
The town is sweet and quaint but well equipped. We have a beautiful recreation center for all ages, cute downtown shops, I recommend Fabula for amazing shopping for all ages. Our downtown is full of restaurants on Main Street and coffee shops, San Juan Brews on Main Street is divine! Our town has wonderful walking and biking paths, the bike path goes all the way from the North 9th Street to the recreation center and is wonderfully landscaped, amazing for kiddos and adults alike. We have awesome parks, try Riverbottom for a plethora of activities including walking, biking, hiking, basketball, football, soccer, volley ball, river rafting, tubing, baseball, handball, grilling, and skateboarding on the huge skatepark! Your choice to come here is a great one, and when you stay at the Uncompaghre Cottage you are right in the middle of it all! You will find a list of our recommendations when you book along with some very luxurious amenities including soaking salts, sugar body scrubs, mint and rosemary shampoo and conditioner, lavender body wash, full and plush pillows and more!

We provide a Bible and a daily devotional called Jesus Calling to our guests. This is not meant to be offensive to our guests. It is meant to provide comfort and peace to those who may be hurting and searching for answers. We sincerely hope you will enjoy your stay with us.

We are a normal family, you may hear dogs barking on occasion, our back yard is visible when you walk up separated by a four and a half foot white picket fence. The cottage is a gem and perfectly clean, furnished and well appointed. The yard is neat, everything you will be immersed in is clean and new! **Please pull the gate hard, it's not locked , is just swollen and gets stuck.

This spacious studio cottage is nestled in a mature, shady garden with relaxing front porch, a hammock under a grape arbor, and outdoor dining area. Equipped with excellent WIFI, and offering weekly and monthly discounts, it's a wonderful spot for a working vacation.

Waking up to the sounds of birds chirping and wind chimes is complete magic! The cottage is outfitted with everything you could possibly need for a wonderful month, week or weekend in Paonia including a small library of books by local Paonia authors. We DO have good WiFi, but DO NOT have TV.

The cottage is conveniently close to everything that is great about Paonia as downtown is only a five minute walk. There you'll find your choice of great restaurants including the Back Country Bistro, The Living Farm Cafe, The Flying Fork, Louie’s Pizza, and the infamous Revolution Brewery, or attend a movie, concert or yoga class at the wonderful Paradise Theatre or Blue Sage Center for the Arts.

Tour the numerous local wineries which are within a 10 -15 minute drive from the cottage, or take a leisurely drive through the valley to see all the bounty and beauty of our many organic farms and orchards. Great hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, horseback riding and world-class trout fishing are all within easy reach.

Paonia boasts fantastic musicians, writers, artists and craftspeople along with many festivals such as Cherry Days in July, Mountain Harvest Fest in September, and a local film festival in early Spring.

While visiting Paonia and the North Fork Valley, you will experience some of the most spectacular scenery in Western Colorado; the Black Canyon National Monument, Grand Mesa, West Elks Scenic Byway, the historic mining towns of Redstone and Marble, and both Kebler and McLure passes are all within an hour and a half drive. Crested Butte, Telluride and Aspen are 2 to 2-1/2 hours from Paonia.

Dogs must be leashed at all times due to abundant wildlife and my horses. If your dogs are to be left unattended in the cabin they must be crated…. unfortunately, I needed to make this decision because just recently a Guest’s dog with separation anxiety broke through the window, gouged my antique door, chewed a comforter, scratched the floor, etc etc and busted out
Communication is important when bringing your dogs so that we can chat back-and-forth so my dogs aren’t out when your dogs are out

I love that there is a bike path on the same block. If you take it to the South, it will take you to the pavilion and the botanical garden. If you take it to the North it will take you to Main Street and a little further to one of the best family parks in Montrose.

This is an awesome oasis in Paonia with everything you need nearby! Catalpa Cottage is a beautiful 1-bedroom, 1 bathroom newly renovated cottage with awesome views! A private space, with easy access to the deck from both the kitchen and bedroom. A fire pit area to relax and watch the sun go down and enjoy the dark skies of Paonia. Easy access, and a 10 minute walk, to Grand Avenue.

Surrounded by country life, 3 miles from downtown Montrose, close to Ridgway, Ouray, Telluride. 10 miles to Black Canyon of the Gunnison. The space
You will have this cute 800 square foot cottage with front/back yard all to yourself. When you arrive, you will be greeted with fresh baked goodies and supplies to make a simple meal if you like. It is a small space (800 sq ft) but has everything you need including brand new mattresses in 2022, clean linens, high speed internet, fresh fruits and vegetables when in season, fresh farm eggs from the host's chickens if requested for you to cook up a meal, plenty of coffee, tea and cocoa, and a directory of local eateries that we provide for you to check out. If requested, we can make sure you have seasonal vegetables and fruits, along with fresh eggs, fresh baked goods, and juice or milk so you can cook breakfast your first morning staying at The Commons. Let us know if you have any food allergies!

The view of the San Juan Mountains from the back yard is incredible. You will have a spectacular vista of 14-ers including Mt. Sneffels, Mt. Uncompahgre, Wilson Peak and others to the south; to the east, you will enjoy the unique Cimarron Range. To the north, you will be able to see the Grand Mesa. If you happen to have a reservation during late summer, you just might be lucky enough to witness the bright yellow crop duster or drone performing acrobatics over the corn field behind the cottage. Corn, beans and wheat are grown and harvested just 100 yards away from your stay.

You are welcome to visit the host's organic garden (when it is in season) and pick fresh vegetables during your stay, or choose fruits that are in season from our small orchard - both next door to the cottage. Some years our bounty is very meager, and we will not have fruits or veggies to share.

A notebook detailing local places of interest, restaurants with delivery, local favorites, a calendar of local events, and local producers of craft items, wine, beer and foods will be available along with a map of the area.

The hosts live next door to the cottage and will be available in person or by phone for any needs or questions that may come up. Our goal is to give you a private, peaceful and safe central place to vacation, to plan all of your adventures, to work remotely if you have projects you need to finish up, and to rest after a busy day. The cottage is a safe space for folks from all minority and marginalized groups. We enthusiastically welcome guests of all races, faiths, genders, and sexual orientations.

Bring your furry family member, but let us know before hand so we can have a bed and dishes available for him/her. Additional charges for pets apply. No smoking indoors. If he/she is to remain at the cottage alone during any given day, please provide a kennel as we require this for unattended pets.

Guest access
Entire house, front and back yards, driveway with space for up to 3 vehicles. A shed is on the property if you need to store bicycles, canoes or motorcycles and keep them locked up safely. A full-sized refrigerator/freezer is available in the shed for your use if needed. If more than 2 people are staying, water may need to have time to reheat between showers/baths.

Other things to note
The cottage is only 5 miles from the Montrose Airport which provides flights at leasts twice daily to major cities including Denver, Salt Lake City and Grand Junction. Car rentals are available at the kiosk inside the airport. There is daily bus service from Montrose to Grand Junction where you can easily catch the train to Salt Lake City or to Denver and beyond. The Stone Cottage Getaway is a newly constructed cottage built using the local fieldstone. The cottage housed the Helleckson family while revitalizing the vines and raising their two children.
