1300 square foot historic miners' style cottage with the best views in Estes Park! The 1.78 acre lot is one of the largest vacation rental lots in Estes. Decorated in old world style with a modern flair. Perched on the mountainside with two large bedrooms.

Spectacular panoramic 360 degree views cannot even be captured fully on film. 10 foot rock formation just behind cottage. Nighttime stars are unparalleled. You have the feeling of literally being surrounded by Rocky Mountains.

Entire cottage is done in tongue and groove pine. Pinecone and pine tree theme throughout, with wood-burning stove in living room. Jacuzzi tub and skylight in master bath.

Cable TV in 3 rooms . Master bedroom contains two queen sized log beds. Large upstairs loft/bedroom contains two queen sized log beds. We do not allow more than 4 guests as the water supply is from a well and can serve this size group.

The property is frequented by white tailed deer, mule deer, elk, hummingbirds, and coyote on a daily basis. We occasionally see bobcats and other wildlife. 5 Minute drive to Rocky Mountain National Park, 5 Minute drive to the Estes Park downtown and 1 minute drive to quiet Mary's Lake Recreation and Picnic area or a 10 minute walk.

We, the owners, have been renting 3 homes for the past 12 plus years, and you can look us up as owners through number of positive reviews on various sites. A. This Cottage is an owner operated business. We meticulously clean between guests to ensure a most pleasurable vacation experience. There is a leave as you found it policy except for Linens. We ask guests to care for our cottage as though it were their own. After your departure, if it takes more than 3 hours to clean, you will be charged an extra $45/hour for additional hours.Guests can enjoy within property lot lines. There is no trespassing in neighboring lots. Quiet time is after 9 pm.

Q. How close is the home to Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) and the town of Estes Park?
A. The home is approximately 2 miles away from RMNP entrance and 3 miles from the town of Estes Park.

Q. Is the cabin secluded?
A. The cabin is outside the hustle and bustle of town. It is spaced far from other cabins and homes, and though you can see them, we have almost two acres and you do not feel "close" to them. Since the cabin is perched on the mountain side, the valley sometimes echoes noise. Estes park has a dark sky policy including our cottage with all fixtures that direct all light downward. On a clear night you can see a beautiful display of stars against the back-drop of the mountains.

Q. Is there air conditioning, heat, and washer -dryer? Is there a blow dryer and iron?
A. There is NO air conditioning as it is very rarely needed. It becomes very cool at night and sleeping is always comfortable. Not all windows open in this historic cabin. The cabin has 1 window in the master bedroom that opens. The upstairs bedroom has 2 windows that open. We have a number of fans and there is a swamp cooler for your use. Daytime is also comfortable if the blinds are down during peak sun into the cabin. There is a washer-dryer in the cabin. There is a blow dryer and iron in the cabinet under the bathroom sink. We have heat during the winter.

Q: What are Road Conditions and Access to the property
A: The road to the cabin is 0.3 miles from the paved Marys Lake Road. This section (0.3 miles) is unpaved and a sizeable portion of this road is shared with other properties. Only 60 ft of this road is bumpy. We are working with the neighbors to repair the bumpy portion of the road. We have a Prius C and no problems accessing the property. On snowy days (Oct- Dec) you may need a SUV. A SUV or a 4 wheel drive is recommended if you want to sight see and visit the continental divide. See 4th picture for the road conditions.

The cottage is located two blocks from Lake Estes near horseback riding, fishing, hiking, and downtown Lake Estes. The cottage is just a short walk from a free shuttle stop. Even though located near everything, there is still a peaceful ambiance surrounding the area. When you walk into the cottage, the living room is very cozy with a wood-burning fireplace; great gathering place for playing games with the family and just relaxing. The master bedroom has a queen bed and the 2nd bedroom has a full bed. There is a sunroom which can be used either as a bedroom with a queen sleeper sofa or as a TV room/sunroom. The property has air conditioning, ceiling fans and TV's in all the bedrooms and the living room. Wildlife is in abundance on the property and you can often see deer, elk, coyotes, and other animals wandering as you prepare breakfast, lunch or dinner. A perfect place for families of all ages. A privately owned cabin located on the grounds of the YMCA of the Rockies. Set away from any roads and perched on a hillside with mountain views, this quiet, comfortable cottage is a family's beloved vacation spot for five generations and counting.

The large living room/dining room with stone fireplace and piano has been featured in Country Living Magazine. The cottage was built in 1914. The original ice house and clothes washing sink remain in the basement. The remodeled kitchen has all the conveniences of a modern kitchen including a ceramic top electric stove and oven, microwave oven, refrigerator-freezer, dishwasher, garbage disposal and lots of counter space. The cast iron wood-burning oven & stove is a reminder of how we used to cook but is non-operational now. Many mornings and evenings you will look out the kitchen window to watch the elk bedded down under the nearby trees, the deer meandering across the property, or the turkeys flocking up and down the back slope.

The single bedroom is next to the main bathroom. The middle bedroom across the hall from the main bathroom is more spacious with a double bed and a comfortable chair. The first bedroom at the back of the cottage has a double bed, an attached bathroom and the original lavatory. The second back bedroom has two beds - a double and a single, and an attached bathroom. The attached bathrooms were added in 1995 and each has a toilet, a shower stall, a lavatory and a closet. All bathrooms have electric heaters. The front bedroom has two beds - a double and a single, two dressers, lavatory, toilet and a large closet. With a total of seven beds, four double and three single, the cottage can sleep eleven.

The property is situated 3 miles from the entrance to the Rocky Mountain National Park. The Cottage is within walking distance of the Big Thompson River, stables for guided horse back riding, wildlife watching, and short local hikes. The Big Thompson river offers surprisingly good fishing. The early morning sun on the front porch is where we have the first cup of coffee. Guided hikes, evening concerts and presentations, mini golf, disc golf, tennis, athletic rental equipment, dining, snack counters, children's playground, arts and crafts building, children's day camp, small convenience store and the memorable stuffed mountain lion looking down from his ledge in the historic hall of the YMCA of the Rockies. All activities offered by the YMCA are available to our guests.

Views of 14,000 ft. Long's Peak have inspired many guests to try for the summit. You'll see original 1930-1940s photographs of the Griggs family on the famous peaks of RMNP framed and mounted throughout the cottage. The cottage is used by the family for much of the season but we love sharing it with families looking for an authentic, rustic, and cozy retreat in the Rockies.

Upon entering this charming cottage, you will be greeted by the warm and inviting living room. The living room is large and has plenty of seating including 1 full-size sofa, 1 love seat, and 2 comfortable recliners. This space faces south to let in plenty of natural light. There is a flat-screen TV with cable TV service. The living room opens to the generous dining area that has seating for 6 guests. Be sure to check out the elk antler chandelier. The dining room opens to the large and functional kitchen. There are tons of counter space, lots of cabinets, and everything you need to cook a great meal.

The master bedroom is accessed through the living room and provides a private retreat with en suite 3/4 bath and queen-sized bed. The second bedroom is off the dining room and has a full-sized bed. The third bedroom features a twin over full bunk bed.

At the Park & Ride, riders will transfer to the Bear Lake or Moraine Park shuttles to get to their trailhead destinations.

- "We were honored to be the first guests at this charming home on the outskirts of downtown Estes Park. The house has three bedrooms, each with its own dedicated bathroom (plus a half bath downstairs). It is located about 3 miles from the Beaver Meadows Park entrance and 3 miles from downtown Estes. Everything in the condo looked new and had a relaxed, and comfortable, vibe. One of the best features is the back porch that buts up against the Big Thompson River (think bubbling stream/creek). We spent HOURS on the back porch listening to the stream, watching the wildlife and enjoying the weather. We saw chipmunks, squirrels, a marmot, mag pies and stellar jays. We were also fortunate to see deer and elk several times by the creek. They literally walked by the front of our porch while we were sitting there. The owners, and property manager, were responsive to all our questions. The only negative we had was that the WiFi was sometimes sporadic in the evenings, but hey, we were there to unplug and enjoy some family time. We loved our stay at this vrbo near RMNP and have already booked our return next year."

Welcome to Crooked Pine Cottage!  Enjoy this rustic little cabin located near the entry to Rocky Mountain National Park and to everything that Estes Park has to offer.  This cabin was built in 1935 as forest service employee housing and was known back then as part of the High Drive Cabins.

We have made an effort to equip the two-bedroom dwelling with local charm and creature comforts.  Sip coffee and enjoy a sunrise view from the deck as deer or elk make themselves at home in the yard.  Or snuggle up in a warm furry blanket on the sofa and gaze out the large picture window at snow-capped peaks.  Take advantage of the fully stocked kitchen and whip up a home-cooked meal, or break out a few family board games and make it a relaxed pizza night.

Lamps warm up the dining and living spaces, where locally crafted furniture provides comfort and utility.  Stone quarried from nearby Lyons gives the fireplace and hearth a warm appeal and a giant picture window allows the outside in on fresh sunny days.  Vintage touches permeate the space while local photographs and artwork enhance the walls.  Longer-term stays are made more convenient with a new washer and dryer.

Tuck into a comfy full-sized bed in the master bedroom.  A closet, luggage rack and chest of drawers allow for easy unpacking.  The second bedroom inspires outdoor adventures with cheerful decor, bedding and curtains.  An ironing board, iron, space heaters, and fans are available for added comfort in any season.

A delightful bathroom, "The Outhouse", provides a compact shower with a window view.  Walls provide a sense of rusticity in contrast to an elegant chandelier which provides perfect lighting above the mirror.  Fluffy white towels and a hair dryer are provided.

This renovated 100 year old cottage was one of the original family homes in Estes Park. Reflective of the era in which it was built, with low ceilings (7 foot!) & cozy spaces, as well as a private patio. (NO A/C. NO pets.)
The cottage is in a residential cul-de-sac 3 blocks UP the hill from the center of town. 10 minute drive to Rocky Mountain National Park, 5 minute drive to The Stanley & Safeway, walkable .7 mile to Skyview.

The space
As an old cottage it has it's quirks, like a sloping kitchen floor and low ceilings -- not everyone appreciates the charm of an old home, but if you are open to it, this little house may just capture your heart like it has ours. If you prefer sleek and modern accommodations, this is not be the right AirBnB for your stay in Estes Park.

The bathroom door is right inside the bedroom — you must enter the bedroom to get to the bathroom.

The private courtyard is perfect for relaxing outdoors, grilling, or enjoying breakfast coffee.

The sunroom has a twin size daybed that can be used for guest sleeping, but the room will get warm on summer afternoons.

The neighbors are close, so please be respectful of the full time residents, after all, they may be the folks helping you at the grocery store or serving you drinks at the bar.

We have a strict no pets policy. We can not host pets. No dogs. No cats.

We have a strict no pets policy. I know, I’ve noted it before, but I will still get requests to bring animals. Please do not make a reservation request if you need to travel with your animal.

We are permitted by the town of Estes Park for a max number of guests, regardless of age. If you are traveling with infants or toddlers ABnB will not require you to add them to your guest count. However, our city license considers them as part of the guest count. So, if you are traveling with infants or toddlers, please send a reservation request to confirm your TOTAL guest count before booking. Any violation of my max permitted guest count will result in a $200 fee.

Please make sure your profile is complete and provide me with pertinent information about your travel companions. It is easier for me to communicate and prepare for your stay if I know a little bit about you and where you are coming from. For example, if you are from Denver, you won’t need winter driving tips, but if you are flying in from Orlando and renting a car, you may want winter tips.

The Guest Service Fee is an ABnB fee, it is not a host generated fee.
The cleaning fee is passed on to my cleaners - I hope my guests understand the need to pay them a living wage in a small seasonal tourist town and can be okay with the fee.
Taxes are based on city, state, and county - there is nothing a host can do to change those. Estes Park is currently adding additional fees to short term rentals, which will be rolled into nightly stays when they are finalized.

Check-in is anytime after 3pm & check-out is anytime before 11am. Please remember we will probably have guests checking in or out the same day you arrive or leave, and those 4 hours are needed to make the space ready between guests.

There is no Lyft or Uber service available in Estes Park at this time, and limited “taxi” style services.

Due to town wildlife ordinances, we require guests use the provided bear-proof trash bin. Securely bag all trash and recycling before putting it in the bin.

Living in a high desert zone requires caution around the use of outdoor fires. We do not provide a fire pit, because most of the year we are under open fire restriction or fire ban. Please be aware of the danger associated with outdoor open fires in an area prone to wildfires during dry and windy conditions.

Stay With Us & Walk to Town! Chickadee is a cozy and charming cottage with one bedroom (queen bed) and a fully equipped kitchen. We have seven cottages on our property of The River Rock Cottages and are conveniently located 2 blocks from downtown Estes Park and 3.5-miles from Rocky Mountain National Park.

This cottage shares one interior wall with our Diamond Cottage (similar to a duplex).

The space
Chickadee has one small bedroom with a queen bed. There is a queen sleeper sofa in the living area. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a round dining table with four chairs. The bathroom has a shower only.

Chickadee is one of seven cottages on our property. All of our cottages are clean, modern and tastefully decorated.

Our Evergreen Cottage is cozy and tastefully decorated. This is one of seven cottages on our property of River Rock Cottages. This cottage has a private 10'x16' deck with an outdoor table and seating for two. The cottage sleeps up to 4, including infants/children (1 King bed, 1 Full Sleeper Sofa).

This is our smallest cottage at 325 sq ft.

We're conveniently located 2 blocks from downtown Estes Park and 3.5 miles from RMNP.

The space
Evergreen Cottage is one of seven cottages on our property of River Rock Cottages. This is our smallest cottage and is best suited to 2 adults or 2 adults + 1 child. It can be used by 4 adults...but it's a tight fit!

We have a large common flagstone patio area with plenty of outdoor seating, a fire pit, corn hole game, hammock and outdoor grills.

Wapiti is a charming and cozy one bedroom cottage one block from downtown Estes Park. This cottage includes a moss rock wood-burning fireplace, fully-equipped kitchen, re-claimed beetle-kill pine floor, mountain views, charcoal grill and a 6' privacy wood fence around front yard.

The space
Wapiti has one bedroom with a queen size bed and a ceiling fan. The living area includes a queen La-Z-Boy sleeper sofa, wood burning fire place and a ceiling fan. Wapiti sleeps up to a maximum of 4 (the guest count includes children/infants per town code).

This cottage also includes a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven/stove, microwave, refrigerator and place settings for 4. The cottage has a flat screen Smart TV with Dish. Access all your favorite streaming apps with your log-in. Wifi is always complimentary.

Wapiti has it's own front yard with a 6' privacy fence. The cottage has a gas outdoor grill.

Wapiti is located 1 block from downtown Estes Park within easy walking of shopping, dining and the river walk (the river runs parallel to the main street downtown). It's a short 3.5 mile drive to Rocky Mountain National Park. Great views of The Stanley Hotel!
