Please be prepared before beginning your drive to the mountains! Four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicles are highly recommended. Although the main roads are usually plowed well, many residential areas require traversing steep hills on dirt roads that are not as maintained. Keep in mind that chain and traction laws for non-commercial vehicles can be put into effect at any time. We do not advise driving Berthoud Pass in a front-wheel drive vehicle unless you a comfortable putting chains on yourself. Weather and driving conditions may change rapidly. We will not accommodate refund related to weather or road conditions, please plan accordingly.

The SPW complex is well taken care of and super convenient to town, but sits on a big hill overlooking everything and doesn't feel like you're in the thick of it, it was extremely peaceful. We even had a mama moose and her yearling calf come by around the deck each morning we were there which was amazing! The neighbors we met were very nice and welcoming too. We will definitely be looking to stay here again on our next trip to Grand Lake!"

The town allows snowmobiles on the public streets, which connect to trails in the Park. Visit Hot Sulphur Springs to soak in the naturally hot spring water, one of the pools was used by the native peoples prior to arrival of pioneers.

Grand Lake is the largest natural lake in Colorado and host to two marinas. Shadow Mountain Lake connects via the channel and hosts a 3rd marina. Travel between the two lakes is permitted. The town allows snowmobiles on the public streets, which connect to trails in the Park. Grand Lake is the largest natural lake in Colorado and host to two marinas. Shadow Mountain Lake connects via the channel and hosts a 3rd marina. Travel between the two lakes is permitted. Numerous creeks and rivers are accessible from public land for fly fishing. Rent a power boat from one of the marinas or rent a paddle board or kayak if you prefer a human powered ride. ATV use is permitted within town limits, Jeep trails to old mine sites are just minutes away.

Cozy up in The Nest at Pearl's Place this winter. The Nest is within a mile of the charming town of Grand Lake & Rocky Mountain National Park. The space
NOT on the highway - so you can enjoy the safety and peace of the nature and wildlife. This is a ground-level apartment has its own ground-level entrance. That's right, no stairs needed to enjoy this home - but you must be ok with dogs. There is usually one or two here, both very nice and will emotionally manipulate you into staying longer.

Complete with a blender, toaster oven, fridge, freezer, hot pot and microwave, the kitchenette has everything you need while you’re there including a coffee, tea and cocoa bar to warm up in the mornings.

A smart TV and business quality internet always available with a number of streaming services setup and ready to watch like Netflix, HULU, Disney+, HBO, ESPN, Paramount, Prime Video, Peacock, Chromecast and MORE. I also keep books, games and other activities available for those fun nights in.

Fresh linens restocked for each guest with fluffy pillows, mountain furniture and local, mountain decor complete the cabin vibes for a special getaway. Pearl's place offers 2 separate private guest quarters: The Nest and The Fox Den. Each is completely private and features a private entrance, patio space, bathroom, sitting area, breakfast area. These 2 guest quarters can be rented together to accommodate 4 people or separately to accommodate 2 people in each space. Please note that The Nest is accessed through stairs.

The space
This space is not a private room but rather your own private guest quarters. It is a charming, cozy, and creative space that includes your own kitchenette, workout area, living area, bedroom, bathroom, and outdoor patio space to take in the view of Mt. Baldy. It is a 10 minute walk to the town of Grand Lake and just 2 miles from the entrance of the Rocky Mountain National Park. Not only do guests have access to a great space but they may also enjoy a campfire at night and use of a barbecue upon request. Wildlife is usually spotted in the early morning and as the sun is setting.

Guest access
Guests will have total privacy within their own guest quarters and will not have access to the main home. I do come down everyday to tidy up the suites.

There is a bulldog on site for anyone who is allergic to dog hair.
