Although the main roads are usually plowed well, many residential areas require traversing steep hills on dirt roads that are not as maintained. Keep in mind that chain and traction laws for non-commercial vehicles can be put into effect at any time. We do not advise driving Berthoud Pass in a front-wheel drive vehicle unless you a comfortable putting chains on yourself. Weather and driving conditions may change rapidly. We will not accommodate refund related to weather or road conditions, please plan accordingly.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations made prior to 30 days of your arrival date for stays of 6 nights or less will incur a $50 cancellation fee and forfeit the non-refundable booking fee. Cancellations of reservations of 7 nights or more, prior to 30 days before your arrival date incur a $200 cancellation fee and forfeit the non-refundable booking fee. For cancellations within 30 days of arrival date the entire amount is non-refundable for all reservations.

Winter Arrival:
Please be prepared before beginning your drive to the mountains! Four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicles are highly recommended. Although the main roads are usually plowed well, many residential areas require traversing steep hills on dirt roads that are not as maintained. Keep in mind that chain and traction laws for non-commercial vehicles can be put into effect at any time. We do not advise driving Berthoud Pass in a front-wheel drive vehicle unless you a comfortable putting chains on yourself. Weather and driving conditions may change rapidly. We will not accommodate refund related to weather or road conditions, please plan accordingly.

Walk directly from the deck down to the public park and beach. Hike, bike, boat, paddle, swim, fish, snowmobile, snowshoe and enjoy nature in the little town on the west entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. Trailheads for popular hikes are minutes from the apartment. We are across the street from popular restaurants and right on the wooden boardwalk in downtown Grand Lake. Grand Lake is a charming little town with a lot of history. The Kauffman House Museum is open most weekends, there are shops, galleries, and restaurants all along the wooden boardwalks. The town is surrounded by national forest and Rocky Mountain National Park. Take a drive over Trail Ridge Road to Estes Park or check out the lively town of Winter Park. Summer is the busiest season with mostly sunny weather, if you prefer a slower pace come visit us in the fall when the aspen turn red and gold and the weather is cool. Winter offers cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling very nearby and alpine skiing is just 20 minutes away in Granby. The town allows snowmobiles on the public streets, which connect to trails in the Park. Visit Hot Sulphur Springs to soak in the naturally hot spring water, one of the pools was used by the native peoples prior to arrival of pioneers.

Grand Lake is the largest natural lake in Colorado and host to two marinas. Shadow Mountain Lake connects via the channel and hosts a 3rd marina. Travel between the two lakes is permitted. Numerous creeks and rivers are accessible from public land for fly fishing. Rent a power boat from one of the marinas or rent a paddle board or kayak if you prefer a human powered ride. ATV use is permitted within town limits with a safety flag.

Sleep up to 12 in our cozy, spacious 4 bedrooms with 2 and ½ baths. 3 of the bedrooms are on the lower level, with the master on the main floor. The Master Suite has it's own entry to the back deck, which allows for the cool mountain air to sweep you as you wake up to chirping birds. A king size bed, luxury bathroom, and it's own sitting area for comfort. Downstairs have 3 very comfortable bedrooms with lots of space. Two of the lower level bedrooms (the cowboy room and the moose room) have queen size beds. The bunk room is perfect for kids or adults, with plenty of sleeping space with 2 full bunk beds (single over single, and a single over full) and room to play games and watch movies.

If you must do some work, the office area is equipped with an expansive desk space adjunct to the master with WI-FI, monitor, printer/scanner and privacy.

If you can pry yourself away from our family lodge, you are within minutes of the Rocky Mountain National Park entrance, as well as the Arapahoe National Forest System with miles of hiking, biking, or snowshoeing in the winter. Historic Grand Lake shops, bars and restaurants are all within a couple of minutes. Wander the strip or take your fishing gear and fetch your dinner in the glacier formed Grand Lake. Boating, snowmobiling, tubing, golfing, snowshoeing, skiing, hiking, biking … all here… Nature has provided serenity in this unbelievable back drop of peacefulness. Within 2 minutes of our Lodge is the Grand Lake Golf Course which converts to the Nordic Center and tubing hill in the winter. Winding River Resort is nearby as well, which offers horseback, sleigh and pony trail rides, as well as cowboy cookouts and breakfasts. There is also an ATV/Snowmobile outfitter right inside the National Park or Grand Lake itself. In town, visit the shops and restaurants or take in a musical at the Rocky Mountain Repertoire Theater (summer months mostly). Rent watercraft, anything from paddle boards to pontoons and get out on the chain of Grand Lake, Shadow Mountain Lake and Lake Granby. Take a walk around the local community lake (*Columbine Lake) right at the property.

Please note that amenities and use of Columbine Lake are not available to renters, but the view of it comes with the lodge, and the paths and trails outside our door are there for you to explore. Grand Lake, Shadow Mountain Lake and Lake Granby are all within minutes for your enjoyment.

*Columbine Lake is a quiet, private, covenant-controlled community. Renters are not allowed to use the clubhouse, gazebo, horse pasture, OHVs or Columbine Lake. We do not allow for storage of snowmobiles on our property or driveway.

There is no inside storage available for bikes, skis, or recreational equipment. There is significant space available under the decks for sporting equipment storage. Please let us know if you have additional storage needs.

Our front deck has seating to enjoy a morning cup of joe while taking in the view of the lake and a grill large enough to cook for the family! Don't be surprised if you see a Moose nearby enjoying the scenery with you! When you're ready to get out and explore, walk (yes, walk!) to Trail Ridge Marina to rent kayaks, canoes, or paddle boards to use at Grand Lake. Grand Lake and the surrounding area has so many outdoor activities, you'll want to book long enough to get to them all! Enjoy fly fishing, lake fishing, hiking at Rocky National Park or Arapahoe National Forest, World-Class Snowmobiling, Nordic Skiing, Snowshoeing and more!

We (me, my husband, adult son, and our 25 pound dog) wanted to stay some place centrally located in Grand Lake with easy access to the water and downtown but that was in our budget. This property met all those needs and more since it also came with the use of 2 kayaks and a paddleboard. Lake access was very close and convenient, downtown was a 10 minute walk away, and check-in and out was a breeze. This is a very compact cabin and the 3 of use felt like we fit without much room to spare. It can sleep more people which I think could work if part of the group were small children and most time was spent outside. Great location, great lake access!"

Time to unwind!

Our condo has 3 levels and enough room for the whole family to spread out. With endless outdoor activities, 4 TVs all equipped with Fire sticks and Netflix, the kids will always have something to do!

Main level access atop a single, short flight of stairs includes small front porch balcony -- great for soaking up the sun in the mornings. On the main level is the den (w/ TV, daybed, and desk), the living room, a half-bath, storage closet and the kitchen. Off the living room there is a balcony. The kitchen is fully equipped with a refrigerator, freezer, oven, microwave, 6 quart air fryer, and dishwasher. The living room has a cozy gas fireplace.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms and a full bathroom. The master bedroom (one queen bed) has skylights, a TV. The second upstairs bedroom (one queen bed) has a TV and a private balcony.

The lower level has an additional bedroom (w/ queen bed) with walkout access to a private porch, and three-quarter bath in the hall. The washer and dryer are in this bedroom.

Lower level also includes an extra long single car garage to keep your vehicle out of the weather and your toys safe. Garage provides additional access into the home.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire condo and Soda Springs Resort (condo association) amenities. The community clubhouse is only a two minute walk and has a heated pool (summers only), hot tub (spring-fall), tennis, grills, exercise room, and pool table. There's even a catch & release fishing pond. There's a privately run restaurant on the resort grounds, and another just a 10 minute walk from the front door.

Whether summer or winter, we can help you find the best places to access the best of Grand Lake -- food, biking, boating, snowmobiling, fishing, kayaking, hiking, nightlife, -- just ask!

Welcome to Chances Getaway. The downstairs of my house with its own entrance and a solid core locked door to the upstairs. This area is set up as a vacation rental. Your space has a nice outdoor area with a BBQ and a fire pit. Fireplace and comfy couches, with a large dining room table for games and socializing. I pride myself on providing a clean unit and being a supporter of a happy experience. Let me know what I can do to enhance that. Pet’s okay on a case-by-case basis.

Make yourselves at home, I'm upstairs on and off, let me know if you need anything. First Aid Kit is in the closet, a large black Scott box. Keep the fire going. Handle to the bottom right is air control, pull to the left before you open the door, add wood, push to the left after you add wood, if the fire is not active but there are coals, leave to the left until fire reignites. The bedroom tv is not hooked up to cable but has access to the internet for Netflix, sometimes you have to go through the internet setup.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations made prior to 30 days of your arrival date for stays of 6 nights or less will incur a $50 cancellation fee and forfeit the non-refundable booking fee. Cancellations of reservations of 7 nights or more, prior to 30 days before your arrival date incur a $200 cancellation fee and forfeit the non-refundable booking fee. For cancellations within 30 days of arrival date the entire amount is non-refundable for all reservations.

Please be prepared before beginning your drive to the mountains! Four-wheel drive vehicles are highly recommended. Although the main roads are usually plowed well, many residential areas require traversing steep hills on dirt roads that are not as maintained. Keep in mind that chain laws for non-commercial vehicles can be put into effect at any time. We do not advise driving Berthoud Pass in a front-wheel drive vehicle unless you a comfortable putting chains on yourself. Weather and driving conditions may change rapidly. We will not accommodate refunds related to weather or road conditions, please plan accordingly.
