- "wonderfull staff friendly and helpfull" - "The hotel was beautiful! Plus we got upgraded to a loft apartment which was absolutely out of this world! Huge! Very modern and made you feel very special. Even the bathroom had a tv by the bath! Reception staff were lovely. Only downside to the hotel was the healthclub. Jacuzzi was out of service, sauna wasnt very hot and the showers were not very hot. But as its free with your room you cant really complain! Breakfast was ok but felt quite limited food. We were not offered any veggie (but we also didnt ask) and just seemed not alot of option. Bit all in all a very nice hotel, beautiful room and staff were very friendly!"

Instow Cottage is a small house in the centre of Hightown, a quiet coastal village north of Liverpool . It is a stone's throw away from a Merseyrail station, with trains running every 15 minutes to Liverpool city centre (25-minute journey) and Southport. The house is opposite the Hightown Hotel pub/restaurant, it faces a little village green, a pharmacy, hairdressers salon and village shop/off-licence (open until 9pm, seven days). A beach and coastal path are just a few minutes walk away.
The space
The cottage is newly-refurbished throughout, has two living rooms downstairs, a fully-fitted kitchen, including dishwasher and washing machine, and a furnished conservatory, leading to an enclosed rear garden. The main sitting area has television with several, free streaming channels and unlimited-use wifi. Upstairs are two double bedrooms, a small study room and a newly-fitted bathroom, with walk-in shower (the cottage also has the benefit of a second, downstairs toilet).

- "We had a fantastic week here, which passed too quickly. Instow Cottage is a beautifully-decorated house in Hightown, convenient for Formby, Southport and Liverpool. The cottage occupies a central position within the village, handy for the train station and the village shop. The cottage consists of two bedrooms plus a cosy study upstairs, with a living room, dining room, kitchen and conservatory downstairs. There is a small garden which our grandchildren enjoyed running around! The cottage was thoughtfully equipped with many added extras, including boxes of tissues, a bottle of wine in the fridge, and homemade lemon cake on arrival. The cottage had been recently refurbished and was clean and impeccably decorated throughout. The landlady, Barbara, was a pleasure to deal with and was very helpful. We will be returning!"

Rose Cottage is a beautifully presented home, situated in the exceptionally popular location of Formby. The property is within close proximity to Freshfield Railway Station for easy travel & also close to Formby National Trust / Reserve as well as the local shops in a vibrant village. Freshfield & Formby offers a variety of bars and restaurants, two of which, The Freshfield & The Grapes are both located within a 5 min walk.

Located in the village of Ainsdale, a semi rural suburb of Southport, this cosy mid terraced cottage provides comfortable holiday accommodation, ideal for families and couples who want to explore all that the north west of England has to offer, both coast and country.
Ainsdale village has several pubs, restaurants, shops and takeaways which are all within half a mile of the cottage. It also has a leisure centre and village green. The village has a strong sense of community with the local community centre offering meals and activities for all adults at very reasonable prices. Ainsdale Horticultural Society holds a village show on the village green every year at the start of July. Ainsdale also has a fabulous beach, which is said to have some of the most breath-taking sunsets and cloudscapes in the whole country.
A great base for walkers and nature lovers, the Sefton Coastal Path and the Trans Pennine Trail both pass through Ainsdale. A number of waymarked nature trails are also accessible from the village. These trails allow access to the Ainsdale Sand Dunes, designated as one of England’s National Nature Reserves. The dunes are home to over 450 plant species as well as the rare Natterjack toad, Europe’s loudest amphibian. Red squirrels can occasionally be seen amongst the reserve’s pine forests too, while sand lizards, great-crested newts and a fantastic variety of orchids and other wildflowers can also be found here. The reserve has a network of around 8 miles of marked footpaths including the Woodland Path and Fisherman’s Path which are both accessible by bike, pushchairs and wheelchairs. An award winning pub and restaurant can be accessed via the paths, walking 3¾ miles, 1 hour and 14 minutes (approximately) from Ainsdale railway station with limited on street parking in the vicinity of pine woods.
There are several golf clubs nearby including Royal Birkdale, Hillside, Southport and Ainsdale, and Formby Hall.
The Victorian seaside town of Southport is just 15 minutes away by car, and apart from its beach, fairground and waterpark also offers a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants. It is well known for local, national and international artists featuring in performances and shows at the refurbished Art Centre, Floral Hall or other locations within the town. Blackpool with its many attractions and landmarks is just 35 miles away by car. Other places on the coast worth visiting include the cosmopolitan resort of Lytham St Annes and Crosby beach.
Liverpool can be reached in approximately half an hour by car and Chester, Manchester and Preston are all under an hour’s drive. The Lake District and Lancashire’s beautiful Ribble Valley can be reached in approximately 90 minutes.
For those who want a break from driving, the cottage has excellent links to public transport. There is a bus stop on the main road with services into Southport, Preston and Liverpool. Themed as a log cabin in the woods, breathtaking with it’s gorgeous red squirrels and trees which are made to look like you are actually in Formby Pinewoods. The Formby Pinewoods are just 900m away from Squirrel Hideaway and the award winning Formby beach is a 20 minute walk.

Squirrel Hideaway is a hidden gem on Shoreside of Formby. This is down a normal everyday road but hidden away from sight. This is a well designed small but spacious property that on the outside looks like a normal house but on the inside is themed as a log cabin in the beautiful Formby Pinewoods with it’s famous red squirrels. It is most suitable for couples or a small family.

There is a double bed in the bedroom and a double sofa-bed in the living room which is suitable for children, not adults. This would be ideal for bird watchers or ramblers as it’s so close to the pinewoods. It would also be ideal for anyone looking for somewhere to stay visiting family or friends in the area or people on business.

We have an outside space which is ideal in all weathers to sit and relax. There is a full working kitchen, oven, microwave, fridge, hob, coffee machine, kettle and toaster.

There is Sky Glass in the living room and Sky Glass in the bedroom, Wi-Fi, Netflix, Alexa and Air con make it a home from home.

There is one bathroom, which has a toilet and sink and a walk-in rain shower.
