And the artisan pizza is delicious. We got our room with breakfast included. It’s not a buffet, but the food is great. I loved the panini with salad, much better than it sounds. The smoked salmon avocado toast was Craftsman level artistry. There is also a cool cafe/bar that opens onto the street downstairs. We didn’t go there but it seemed a good hangout. The hotel is just a block from Miyashita Park and this great food alley with back to back restaurants. What is not for everyone is that the rooms are small and functional. The bathroom and shower, tho, were great."

As a (very) young female solo traveller, I felt completely safe and comfortable in the environment. There are many convenience stores down the street just a few meters away, as well as dessert places and street food restaurants. I would definitely recommend this place to others alike as well as family, or really anyone looking to stay in the heart of Shibuya. There was a fire alarm at about 12:30am one night but the staff handled the situation incredibly well and got everyone to safety swiftly. The front desk lobby does know how to speak English, which made it very easy to ask questions. They allow bag storage before check-in and after check out and the hotel itself has many amenities for relaxing after a long day, however, they are not tattoo friendly. Not a far walk from Shibuya station and Google Maps will bring you to the apartment easily. It is on a slopey part of Shibuya so walking from Shibuya station to the apartment with luggages can be a bit tiring up the slopes. The apartment itself is small but they managed to squeeze in 6 beds and a very spacious toilet/shower/laundry area. We did have to close up our luggages and store it in between the beds at night so that there is space to sit around the table. The aircon however wasn't cold. We turned it highest and closed the door to the toilet area but it still took quite a while to cool down the small space. To give context, we stayed here in summer so we were feeling really hot. The next morning, it was fine. There are definitely ample charging docks for your devices. Another point to note as well is that the area has a lot of love hotels and advertisements that families with young children might want to avoid. However, I think this is unavoidable if you want to stay in convenient and crowded areas like Shibuya and Shinjuku. I would highly recommend this place especially for groups needing more beds and people wanting to stay in Shibuya area. It is really convenient and a lovely accommodation. Also, the host does get back to you quite promptly."

Meiji-Jingumae Station is situated in the Omotesando/Harajuku area. This station belongs to the Tokyo Metro network and is served by the Chiyoda Line and the Fukotoshin Line. The location of the apartment is extremely convenient for anyone wanting to visit on foot OMOTESANDO, HARAJUKU, YOYOGI PARK, AOYAMA or even SHIBUYA. It is right next to the JR Harajuku Station which is part of the Yamanote Line. Across the road from both of these stations is the famous Takeshita Dori shopping area, home to the Lolita Goths and fashionistas. The aptly named Meiji-jingumae Station is about a one minute walk to the Meiji Shrine. This is a must-see for anyone traveling in Tokyo. To get to the shrine turn right out of the station and follow the signs. Meiji-jingumae Station also offers easy access to Yoyogi Park which is great for sightseeing on the weekend. The entrance to the park is just a short two minute walk to the right of the station.

1. JR Yamanote Line “Harajuku Station” Omotesando Exit

Getting Around: Your Guide to Harajuku Station

The JR Yamanote Line’s “Harajuku Station” is famous worldwide. The Omotesando Exit, towards Shibuya and Shinagawa, is teeming with shoppers and travelers from afar.

Upon exiting the station, you’ll be greeted by rows of gingko trees that line the path to Meiji Jingu Shrine. “Sando” (参道) refers to a path leading to a shrine or temple. That’s why this area is called “Omotesando.”

5 minutes down Omotesando towards Aoyama, you’ll find the fashion center that stands as a beacon of youth culture, “Harajuku Laforet.” You can shop for anything from reasonably-priced brands for students to mode fashion like Vivienne Westwood.

This is the crossroad in front of Meiji Jingu Shrine. On the right is a somewhat narrow street. This street actually connects Shibuya to Harajuku in what is known as “Cat Street.”

The essence of “Urahara” fashion (a subculture born on the backstreets of Harajuku) is packed into Cat Street’s shops. This type of Japanese street culture arose in these backstreets during the 80’s. It’s a popular destination for those crazy for fashion and music even today.

Harajuku Station’s Takeshita-dori Exit leads towards Shinjuku and Ikebukuro. You can see the famous street right as you exit the ticket gate.

- "Well situated with easy access to both the metro and JR. It's simple but perfect if you're looking to use to explore." - "This apartment and building is not handicap accessible, and the bathroom can be dangerous for us unsuspecting Americans. There are several steps up into the building, then 8 steps up to the elevator. The 5th floor is not actually a floor of apartments like we are used to. It stops in between levels of apartments, so it's either 8 teps down from the 5th floor or 8 steps up from the 4th floor. (Careful with heavy luggage even if hale & hearty) Once inside, there's a 2-inch step up from where you take off your shoes and then a 4 inch step down onto the balcony to do laundry.The big problem is the bathroom. There's an 8-inch step down into the wet room shower part and then about a 4-inch step up to the sink/toilet. So, if you’re standing there brushing your teeth, don't forget about the drop off! The floor can be slick after a shower even if you wipe down the tile with a towel. There need to be hand rails, at a minimum.The owners also desperately need to invest in a couple IKEA bunk beds and vertical storage solutions. The rooms are tight, so there's about a foot in between the beds. No floor space and awkward to go over one of the beds to get to the balcony.Where do we put our suitcases if no floor space? Luckily, we had 4 people, not 5, so used one of the beds to line up 4 suitcases.So, why 4 stars? Well, it slept 4 people. its a good location for price and size, walking close by to Takeshita, Harajuku, subway to Shibuya. "
