- "We left 2 days earlier and didn´t ask for a refund - no reason to loose any more lifetime there. -) Asking at the check in if we can have a PAID upgrade, we got told, that this might be possible the day after, as the reservation team had already left - fair enough. - )First we´ve got a room which hasn´t been cleaned, at least not the bathroom, located on the ground floor with streetview (to be fair, we haven´t booked a "deluxe room" but for 120€ a night, you´d expect a bit more.) After complaining at the reception the very friendly and helpfull gentleman offered us first a free upgrade to the 2nd floor which turned then into an paid upgrade with side-seaview for 10€ a day. (so suddenly it worked also on the same day). Ok, the view was great. The room kind of clean. 130€/night. -)Unfortunately the balcony had no roof- hot as hell, you had to be carefull not to sit in any pigeon droppings. -)There aren´t any blinds to the neighbour balconies, so you have full view to 4 or 5 rooms next to you. -)You are in the middle of everything, so you have the full party noise from the surrounding. -)Breakfast: The waiter looks annoyed and the variety didn´t reflect in any way a 4 star hotel. The table was sticky. -)The room had a kitchen, so you´d expect to leave food there right? Well, ANTS conquered the breakfast on the 3rd floor - time to leave. No value for money. There´s a wide range of better offers on the canaries than this. Simply a joke and never again. "

- "This was our return visit whist explaining La Gomera and although the hotel is still undergoing some building work it didn’t effect our stay. The room was newly refurbished and a the balcony had great view over the Main Street. San Sebastián is an easy place to walk round from the hotel. Breakfast was included and the staff refreshed items quickly my one small complaint was the toaster which didn’t work giving out so little heat there was no danger of injury or burning bread. Definitely a hotel to consider. "

Without the voucher, the hotel had the booking but not this information. A system failure at the Expedia end." - "This hotel exceeded my expectations. One can always find things that could be improved, but for me those things were inconsequential compared to the overall feeling that the complex is well-maintained and well-run. The bed was comfortable, the room was spotless, the shower was hot with good water pressure, and the room was quiet at night even though it faced the street. The pool area was nicely landscaped and there were enough sunbeds. The breakfast was reliably good without being spectacular. Staff were always helpful and friendly."

- "This is a beautiful, rustic hotel in a wonderful town in the mountains. It’s simple, but comfortable. The terrace is wonderful and I loved the many plants decorating each corner of the hotel. Make sure to have a working phone and ask for the owner’s phone number beforehand, in case you don’t find any instructions when you arrive. Everything worked perfectly for us, but several guests were locked out and we had to let them in and help them connect to the owner upon their arrival. Ask for a room on the ground floor if you have physical restrictions or difficulties climbing stairs."

- "We were very pleased with aspects of our stay, the apartment was clean and bright, next to the sea and was comfortable and generally well equipped. However the shower was not hot and had to run for around 10 minutes before reaching its maximum, inadequate temperature. I was also disappointed to be asked for an 80 euro deposit for keys, one of which was electronic and didn't work. We were not warned this would be the case and it seems excessive. On the day we arrived I received an email telling me to expect an Expedia charge on my credit card to pay the rental. I had paid the rental several months previously and had no dealings with Expedia. I contacted the owners, but received no reply, explanation or apology although the additional charge never appeared on my credit card account. Finally, virtually every day for a week prior to arrival, I received email requests to register electronically. I would have been happy to do this, but the link didn't work, despite trying to use it several times. Again I contacted the owners/agents but never received a reply. We found the on-site, part-time staff polite and helpful, the problem seemed to lie with the owners or whoever deals with emails and other electronic communications on their behalf."

It takes 10 or so minutes to walk to the village where you can eat at several restaurants, it takes about 15 minutes to walk back because it's up hill! If you like to sleep in you may want to ask for a room that is set far away, as the hallways and wooden floors can be very noisy in the morning. A very well equipped apartment is located in the Casa Verano, the little summer paradise. The detached house in a quiet residential area of ​​San Sebastian de la Gomera offers stylish luxury for a perfect holiday. Couple of areas for improvement. We feel the bed mattresses could be improved and the bedding lacked proper pillows. We knew that there would not be internet access, but this would be a plus. If it is there you can choose not to use it. If it is not there you have to seek out an alternative. These comment should not detract from an excellent home which we thoroughly enjoyed. Our individually and lovingly furnished holiday home with pool and small tropical garden is in an exposed location in the upper district of La Calera in the Valle Gran Rey. You can reach it via natural stone stairs about 10 meters above the old main street.
Here you have a wonderful view of the mountain, valley and sea from several terraces.
The highlight is a small salt water pool that can do without additional chlorine chemistry and is available exclusively to you. On the wooden terrace in front you will find deck chairs to relax.
5 palm trees in the garden provide shade and largely obscure the view of the garden area.

The house itself extends over 3 levels and offers space for 4 adults who can spend the night in a separate studio with bathroom and kitchenette or in the bedroom of the main house.

Our house CASA ALOHA is located near the beach Caleta in Hermigua, located on the nature reserve "Majona" on our FINCA MONTORO.
Our accommodation has a breathtaking view of nature in the middle of a palm tree oasis and the vast endless sea. The starry sky is sparklingly beautiful. Complete peace and relaxation are required.

CASA ALOHA is a ca 150 years old stone house and was restored by us personally with much love and details in self-direction. It has two equally sized rooms (living / bedroom) kitchen & bathroom and a beautiful terrace surrounded by palm trees.

Because it is located alone in nature, it is powered by our solar power and has pure spring water. All basic for a relaxing holiday are available, it is clean and well maintained. Bed linen and towel change is once a week or at any time as desired.
Directly from the front door start various hiking routes. (For the ADAC I wrote the first "la Gomera" hiking book) Our house is perfect for nature lovers ....

Note:
Since CASA ALOHA is located in the nature reserve, you drive about 7km -15 minutes on an unpaved road !! Therefore, the rental car should have permission to drive on such a road. The dirt road is very well developed - easy to drive wide enough in addition and a normal rental car can do it without problems. (See photos)

On arrival we accompany everyone for the first time. So you can get used to the dirt road.- I meet mostly at the pharmacy in the village and we drive together to the house. (Also late at night)

The large living room is a magic room thanks to its magically interesting stone walls all around - which we have uncovered again with the finest work. -You think time has stopped here. It is a typical Canarian open living space and also offers good sleeping options for two more people or cozy corners to read and dream ....

On arrival we accompany everyone for the first time. So you can get used to the Erdstrasse. - I usually meet at the pharmacy in the village and we drive together to the house. (Even late at night)
