I have to raise my rates. It's been nine years since I have done this, but the time has finally come. Due to the insane cost of every single thing, the punishing cost of energy and the bloodthirsty increases in my property tax, I am left no choice. This increase, of course, will not apply to the many folks who have already booked in advance.

My new rate will be a minimum of $200/night, which will cover up to four guests. Additional guests will be charged $50/person/night. There will be 10% added to the total bill to cover state sales and county lodging taxes.

Comfortable year-round, completely furnished home on 135' Rainy River Frontage on calm bay, with large private deep water dock. {1/2 mile to Public Boat Landing}

This is a very old house - nothin' fancy, a fishing cabin on the river with a lot of wear and tear. If you're looking for something freshly remodeled with knotty pine, this is NOT it. There are plenty of those for you to choose from. Also, the dead cat is not for sale. Please quit asking.

Huge deck, outdoor screened sitting room, great views of Rainy River and Canada.

I now have WiFi in the cabin.

The water comes from a well. It is very hard water and there is a lot of iron in it-something to consider before washing any whites. I wash all of the towels and linens off-site. Some people bring their own water to drink. I drink from the well and I'm still alive. Take that for what it's worth. I drink it but I don't vouche for it. Some people simply drink beer the entire time. Whatever works.

If there's bait in the freezer, you're welcome to use it.

Due to insurance reasons, I no longer have a fireplace. My insurance company also suggested (demanded) I build a railing on the deck, so I did. I have not uploaded recent photos so just look at the photos above and picture a railing around the deck.

Plenty of towels, kitchen essentials (pots, pans, cookware, coffee maker), bedding/pillows, ect. I don't have a dishwasher at home, so that's always a plus! Great outdoor space including a deck with patio furniture, large yard with firepit, and dock leading down to the tributary. Our teens loved the paddle boat and went out many times even fishing off of it. The waterway is a tributary maybe 2 miles off of the Rainy River and was fun to explore. We used Wheelers Point boat launch about 10 miles North of the house, as the boys wanted to fish more in the 4 Mile Bay and along the river, but we did drive the boat down the tributary to the house and met many other boats fishing along the way. Beautiful views along the property and waterway. The property is a short distance to Baudette which had everything we needed. Also a close drive to Zipple Bay State Park where we went for an afternoon exploring/hiking. Very neat area! The Lake of the Woods website fishing report helped us catch some nice size Sturgeon which our boys were looking for; although no keepers. The hosts were very easy to communicate with and answered any questions we had, including where to try to catch a sturgeon😊 We would definitely stay here again!"

We have 3 LARGE bedrooms with plenty of space for the whole family beds for up to 10 but plenty of room for air mattresses if needed! Living room with TV, DVD player and gas fire place, full kitchen with all the utensils ( including 2 coffee pots, instant pot/air fryer, toaster, microwave, and dishwasher), full laundry with filet area, sink, cutting boards and filet knives to process your catch, gas and Charcoal grills, and a portable pellet pizza oven.

Outside we have a covered porch, camp fire area, and 40x30 shop in which you are welcome to park your boats or other toys to keep them dry and prepare them for the next day's adventure.
