This small stone cottage, recently constructed respecting true Provençal traditions, welcomes you to the delicious small village of Saint André de Roquepertuis.
The construction will be complete by early June, at the same time when the pool will be filled. Surrounded by rosemary and oleanders, on a large 3000m2 lot, the cottage is located outside of the village in a peaceful location where only the crickets come to bother you. Shaded terrace, an 8m X 2m “endless lap pool”; ideal for a family of 4 or 2 couples.
As early as mid-June, date of the end of the construction, we will provide many photos of the interior of the loft style house, which has large spaces that take advantage of the light and a very large bay window that directly overlooks the swimming pool or the evening sunset.

- "Beautiful house in a small town with a lot of nice people. We liked that there are different kinds of coffee machines. You can make your favorite coffee for sure. The place looks better then on the pictures. We loved everything about it and we even used the pool in november. That was a bit cold ;-)" - "We had a very lovely stay. The house was very well equiped and modern compared to others in the region. The full fence & good oversight from the terrace has allowed us to let the dog run around without issue. It’s only a short (minutes) drive from a small supermarket, bakery & good restaurants. There’s no immediate necessity to drive longer distances which made us happy. Virginie & her husband were very quick to respond to any messages & checkin only took a couple of minutes which was nice. Having a lower car does require a little bit of angling to drive in/out of the driveway but regular cars will not have any issues here. We did have a fantastic 2 weeks & we are definitely looking forward to stay there again. A point of feedback; the loungebeds from the pictures were not all present, which we found a little dissappointing as the others were a bit rougher to sit on. But plenty of seats are available to lounge so we were pleased anyway. A suggestion; Perhaps an extra parasol base would be a nice to have as there are multiple available at the house. "

The owner Fabien was very friendly and had good knowledge of the area, sending us to a couple of places that we might not have looked at otherwise. The garden of the property was lovely, with butterflies and birds galore. There was both Black Redstart and Redstart nesting in the garden and we had the pleasure of a Lesser Spotted Woodpecker in the tree next to the cottage. The cottage is warm and cosy. We saw 24 different species of bird in or over the garden. The Cevennes National Park is a short drive and well worth the two weeks that we spent exploring the area. We had 116 bird species, 39 butterfly species and some very interesting insects and other animals in the area. The property is near to the Vulture Viewing centre. There are a huge number of very well signposted walks in and around the area, some of which start from the village. The buildings and surrounding countryside are exquisite. The Camargue was about a 2 hour drive, but an easy drive there and back. There is an excellent bakers in the village. with some very nice pastries. To summarise it is an excellent area to stay in, if you have an interest in birds or nature in general. Highly recommended to anyone with a love of nature and the need to get away from it all."

We also visited Carcassone which was enjoyable but too busy for us, we thought that Minerve was much better! We also went to the Narbonne area and visited Gruissan which was a really good place to visit the salt pans. We saw hundreds of Flamingos, an Osprey, Marsh harriers and many other birds, it was an amazing experience. The gite was very well equipped with everything that you could need for a holiday, there wasn’t anything lacking. Our only regret is that we didn’t have enough time there so we have decided to return at some point in the future to visit the places we didn’t have a chance to. Our contact Isabelle was sweet and charming, but did not speak English and we speak only a few words of French. Be prepared to walk up and down hilly stone pathways to go anywhere from the condo. You need to park some distance away from the condo to load and unload your baggage and then carry downhill on a slightly slippery stone path. Parking is about a 15 minute walk away."

The staircase is unique in Uzés and makes a lovely entrance to the apartment on the first floor. Inside, the high provençal style ceilings and stunning fireplace mantels set the mood along with the stone floors, tall windows and beautiful decoration. Looking out on the lively square from the living room windows, one can only imagine the history of this enchanting place.
The bedrooms are located in the back of the apartment, on a calm pedestrian street, assuring a good night's rest. Each bedroom has plenty of storage space, comfortable bedding, ensuite bathrooms and blackout curtains.
The apartment has been thoughtfully renovated with all the modern conveniences in order to make your stay luxurious and comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped, the bathrooms are modern and the bedrooms furnished with comfortable beds and pretty antiques. - "My husband and I spent a week at this beautiful property. It is right in the square of Place aux Herbes. The pictures online are 100% accurate. This place is fantastic. The location is perfect. We stayed the end of January into February. The weather was perfection; sunny and in the 60’s. We were able to participate in the Wednesday and Saturday market- which is just a treat. Be sure to book accordingly. The apartment is charming. Dominique has provided every amenity you could possibly need. The kitchen is stocked with all the basics. The open kitchen/living room and dining room is light and airy. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are spacious. This was such a perfect home away from home. I didn’t want to leave and am plotting my return. The apartment is beautifully decorated. Dominique has a book documented the renovations of the apartment and you can see all the effort that went into the property. Dominique was very responsive at every step of our visit. She is a great host. She left a bottle of wine and espresso- she doesn’t know it but she couldn’t have offered a better host gift! We did get a rental car so we could drive to other locations. You could also take the bus. We just didn’t want to be on anyone’s schedule so we opted for the rental. A car park is very nearby and very reasonable rates. We spent a month in Europe- Uzès and this apartment is our favorite place. I hope to return and will definitely do a month here next time."

The garden revolves around the 8 m x 4 m swimming pool, equipped with an approved security alarm, a bubble cover to maintain the water temperature, six deckchairs, three summer lounges, a large masonry barbecue, a ping pong table (rackets and balls supplied) and six bicycles available to take you either to the beach (9kms) via the Canal du Midi cycle path, or for a stroll in the garrigue or through the vineyards.
The 160 m2 house is very spacious with large volumes, quiet, you can go on foot to buy your bread, your newspaper, tobacco, an inter market at 400 meters, very good restaurant, a pizzeria accessible on foot.

- "Spent two weeks in this fantastic house with great outdoor facilities in a lovely garden. Multiple terraces and the nice barbecue grill was frequently used and the pétanque court, table tennis and lawn invited for activities and competitions." - "The home is a stone throw from a number of local amenities, supermarkets, restaurants, pharmacy and bakery. It was my first time staying in this part of southern France which is beautiful and many historic sites nearby, the location was perfect 1 hour drive from Carcassonne, Perpignan, Aigues Mortes etc, close to the beautiful town of Beziers and a short drive or cycle to the beach. Our children loved the swimming pool and petanque in the garden. "Any" the host was very amenable, resolving the issue with the pool alarm swiftly. Only minor issue was the loud creaking staircase, the noise from early risers in the morning, woke everyone else in the house up. There is also a cleaning fee which is not listed in the description, but is part of the contract (which is in French), this is deducted from bond at the end of the stay."
