We encountered "15" oncoming vehicles in a 20 mile stretch at 10:30 pm. • There is nothing to do in the evening other than very non-exciting, very conventional dining options. And who travels to Litchfield for extraordinary dining? Hello? France? Italy? • Yes, local greet "Hello" and Merry Xmas" to strangers on the street. It takes more than a hollow greeting to make a place inviting. Litchfield needs to ask itself the question: "Do we really want outsiders visit our town?" My guess is, their answer, currently, is "We like the way we live, we don't want you." - All right, thanks. My apologies to an excellent establishment such as The Abner Hotel and its hard-working management and staff."

Idyllic antique country cottage in a private setting. Cozy as it gets, and convenient to everything the area has to offer, including hiking, vineyards, fishing, boating, farms, skiing, and award winning restaurants. Ample space in and outdoors to enjoy the company of your loved ones. We are the oldest house in Litchfield, and boast original floors, doors and beams. We have been told The Red House simply hugs you! There are no neighbors whatsoever (by all means play your music!) but there is some noise from the main road which we like to be transparent about. It doesn't bother us, but some prefer a quieter country setting.

Built in 1782 the Abel Darling House is nestled in the Litchfield historic district within steps of the Litchfield Green, restaurants and boutique shops. The first floor offers a living room, den, dining room, country kitchen, cozy sitting room with a wood stove and one ensuite bedroom. On the second floor there are two ensuite bedrooms and three guest bedrooms that share a full bathroom. The back porch leads to the gardens and fire pit. If you want to be within walking distance to Litchfield town Green this is the spot! The home adorns two bedrooms with cozy queen size beds. There is one full bath located on the second level and a powder room on the main living level. The stairway is fairly steep may not be appropriate for all quests. The fully equipped, recently renovated kitchen is perfect for those nights you may want to stay in. There is a TV located in the living room and a charming dining area located off the kitchen.

The Storybook Cape is comfortable, cozy and charming with the convenience of uptown Litchfield just 3 miles away. Perfectly located, close to all the action but far enough for privacy and quiet nights.

The home has a brand new fully equipped kitchen, remodeled bathroom, hardwood floors and fresh paint throughout. The main living space has a TV, WiFi and a cozy dinning space. Both bedrooms have multiple windows, AC window units, a comfortable amount of space and lovely natural light.

There is a washer/dryer to use if need be.

Great for any and all travelers...kids as well! Pets are allowed but MUST be crated when left alone. We will provide a crate if need be.

The second floor boasts a king-sized bed in one bedroom and two twin beds in the other. The spacious full bath includes a large soaking tub.

- "My family and I spent a lovely 4 days at this splendid and unique property which included an evening in the Silo House and three in the Saltbox across the road. Both houses were stunningly furnished and appointed with every conceivable amenity one could desire. As wonderful as they were, the 160 acres of bucolic countryside that they sit on are truly gorgeous. Getting away from work for a few days and immersing ourselves in the trails, scenery, gardens, and pond was truly rejuvenating. We certainly hope to return to these distinctive properties!"

Across the street is a working dairy farm where you can get fresh milk, maple syrup, and veggies. You can go up the street just a short distance and grab a bottle of wine at Sunset Vineyard and some chocolate at Thorncrest Farm. Arethusa Dairy is also close by where you can enjoy their famous ice cream and cheese. This is a foodies dream vacation.
You can cook in the new kitchen or grill on the deck while enjoying the sounds of nature.
