And the owner, Nicky, could not have done more to make us comfortable. The house is lovely and has all the comforts you could want. Nicky was responsive and quick to answer questions we had prior to making our reservation, as well as after and while we were there. She stocked the house with staples and everything was clean when we arrived. Beds were very comfortable and the sunrise views were breathtaking!! I highly recommend getting up to see them. Everything was as described in the description and shown in the pictures. The location is great. Close enough to the things you might want to visit, but far enough away to have the privacy you might want. If we didn't live so far away (Florida), we'd definitely be back. Thanks, Nicky!"

Our charming lake house is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home right across the street from the lake with unobstructed view of the lake along with exclusive, gated access to a private park with 700 feet of frontage and pier on the lake.

Escape into the charm of lake life at our cherished "Ohana House." Plenty of parking, dual outdoor sitting areas and lakefront views! Heated/AC game room, and lake-facing deck with patio swing and gated lawn. Fire pit in the front yard with gas grill and deck attached to kitchen with modular seating for 8 guests, and another fire pit in the private lakefront park.

Home is equipped with central Heat & Air conditioning, high-speed wi-fi, big screen TV, fire pit, gas grill with built-in propane, two standing showers (shower stool included), jacuzzi bathtub, desk workspace, gated back yard, washer/dryer, dishwasher, keurig and pot coffee machines, and filtered water dispenser.

The private lakefront park has a picnic area, a pier to walk or dine on the water, and swings and sand for the kids. Only a handful of homes in the vicinity are part of this association and private park (so it never gets crowded and you won't find a nicer access to the lake anywhere in the entire town!).

We are just three houses away from Bugaboo's bar & grill where you can enjoy great food and drinks, lakefront seating, and lake sport rentals for Kayaks and Stand-Up Paddle Boards.

We're only a five minute drive to the upscale Lighthouse restaurant. The Cedar Lake History Museum at the Lassen Resort, and farmer's market, are also a 5-minute drive or 30-minute walk. Downtown Chicago is about a one-hour drive away.

Soap, toiletries, linens, towels, silverware, coffee, bluetooth speakers, volleyball, and all basic cooking or grilling necessities (and then some!) are provided. We store a kayak, cornhole/bags game, and a weber grill for our guests (request the kayak or cornhole in advance so your hosts can set you up). Be sure to try the indoor Ms. Pac Man arcade game, too!

What guests love most about our rental home is the vacation feel from our lake-life decor, and the helpfulness of local hosts, Eric and Marisa Moon.

The space
50 minutes from downtown Chicago yet you’ll feel like a million miles away. You will be staying in our converted barn to apartment with 16 foot ceilings and exposed trusses. 30 x 40 foot open concept with a large loft. Full kitchen, bath, and laundry in suite.
Guest access
You will have access to the entire property. 50+ acres of woods and trails. There is a working stable with alpacas, goats and birds. All farm animal areas to include the stable and chicken coop require permission and accompaniment from myself or farm staff. Outside there is a large pavilion and fire pit which you are encouraged to enjoy.
Other things to note
The apartment is heated by a wood pellet fire stove. Cooled by a stand up electric A/C unit and fans.

There is no WiFi , cable or internet so you will have to talk to one another. Although we provide a large DVD selection and board games. This is a working farm and ranch. There may be farm staff and other guests and visitors from time-to-time during the day.

Our family, friends and I may be on premise and sharing outdoor spaces occasionally.

During summer months every Thursday there will be a summer camp kids field trip from 10 am to 3 pm outdoors utilizing the playground, sand volleyball court and outdoor spaces.

And if you choose to bring a pet, we are so excited to host your furry friend as well! A few things to remember for your pet's visit:
-Please keep your pet(s) leashed when in view of the farm animals. Even a doggy simply wanting to play could spook the animals and cause injury.
-We have a wonderful livestock guardian dog who calls the property home. Bailey is a big beautiful Italian Maremma and she has a very special job keeping all of her animal friends safe. A few things to know about Bailey:
1. She is contained by an invisible fence. A map of her area is provided.
2. Bailey LOVES to meet new people. She also occasionally loves to meet new doggy friends HOWEVER please keep your dog leashed and by the perimeter of the invisible fence if you choose to introduce your dog to Bailey. When in doubt it is always best to keep your pet out of Bailey's zone. Please remember you are responsible for your pet when inside the fence zone and for any accidents that may occur.
-When not in view of the livestock feel free to let your dog off leash!
-And of course please remember to pick up after your pet(s).

We have done our best to offer you and your guests a comfortable stay. Each room has plenty of storage. There are dressers and closets for your belongings. The kitchen should have all your cooking needs.
The house is all yours! The garage and the shed are for the private use of the owners.
There are many outdoor games (Corn Hole, Ladder Ball, Yard Yahtzee, Yard Jenga and Yard Connect Four). There is a hose and sprinkler for the littles and sidewalk chalk and bubbles too!
So there's no surprises; we have Hughes net for internet. Due to the limited options of our rural location, this may result in spotty internet that is also impacted by the weather.
Downtown Momence has several restaurants, bars and churches. We search for any local events and will leave that information on the welcome table should anything be going on.
We live 5 miles from the house so should any issues arise, we can be there promptly.
Feel free to bring your own boat, kayak, tubes or canoe! The house has a private dock which is also great for fishing so don't forget the poles!

As stated in the listing, it is a rural area (near wetlands!) and we saw lots of critters, so don't be surprised to see little animals on your way to the house and out and about the property. We found the bullfrog and cricket sounds at night particularly cool (like a real life sound machine lol)!"

Our place is a peaceful oasis for a family or group getaway. We are located in Cedar Lake, IN and close to Beecher, IL, just one hour from downtown Chicago. The property includes a hiking trail through the forest, great fishing spot in large pond, outdoor deck w/ fireplace and grill. A great time for a couples getaway, corporate retreats or family gatherings.

Our location is great for family and friend gatherings but we do have a policy of no house parties with groups no larger than the 14 guest maximum. This rule is strictly enforced with onsite monitoring by management. Any additional guests, regardless of whether they are staying overnight, can be approved beforehand with an additional $50 fee per person/per night. Any special event requests can be discussed in advance with an agreed additional rate. We have two outdoor security cameras. One facing the driveway and parking area, and the other on the back deck.

We have a pack n play and booster seat available. If there are other needs for babies or young children, please ask and we will do our best to accommodate.

Wind down and enjoy the country. Pomme Place, our private three bedroom apartment at Apple Blossom Trails, has a private entrance and the amenities of home. We have an apple orchard to roam, animals to watch, an adjacent playground and a great spot for bird watching. A large private deck extends from the apartment providing the perfect place to enjoy an evening. We live on site, adjacent to the apartment. We also have Paul, our musical security person, on site living in a mobile home.
The space
Pomme Place is fully appointed with everything you would expect at home. In addition, we have games to keep you busy and toys for kids. As we are a working farm, you will get a feel for what happens on a farm. Along with the ambience of nature, you should expect a rustic, rural feel and all the things that come with country life - animals, dust, bugs, weeds, mud, tractors going by, etc. Water in the country is typically “hard” (more mineral content than most city water) but is nothing to be concerned about. Our TV works through the internet and is not connected to cable. Until Starlink arrives, we have rural internet which is slower than urban areas. If you are looking for some country life - come join us - we welcome your stay and can't wait to host you. On the other hand, if you are looking for a modern hotel with urban amenities, you may not find a farm environment consistent with your expectations.

We have a wood fence in front and a sign Apple Blossom Trails in front. After you come down the driveway, turn right behind the white building and park on the far (west) end of the building. Pomme Place is on the far end (west end) of the building. The entrance to Pomme Place faces west.

Extremely clean, great location, plenty of room to spread out, quiet, wildlife to watch, and fabulous view. Owners were very quick to respond to any questions and seem to really care that our stay was enjoyable.Things to note- Bring your fishing pole! We enjoyed catching and releasing numerous pan fish and buying Indiana fishing license is quick and easy online. The only complaint we had was the property is under constant outdoor surveillance for “our safety” and even though we were doing nothing wrong, it made it feel like big brother was always watching. To the point a utility worker rang the doorbell when we were in the backyard, we watched him speaking with someone, and we believe it was the owners through the ring doorbell. When you arrive, input the code from your email into the door lock at the front. There is a welcome binder in the kitchen that will tell you everything about the house and the local area. If you need anything, give us a call and we will send over someone from our team to help you.

Downtown Chicago is just a 30 minute drive from here with access to highway 394 with little traffic. The neighborhood has a beautiful sidewalk system with a playground just 2 blocks away. There are also several shops and gas stations within walking distance and several new businesses are set to open this fall. It's a great place for families and anyone looking for a quiet place to relax and unwind.

The kitchen is fully loaded with all the cookware needed for baking and grilling. There is a standup mixer, a blender, a juicer and all the bar tools needed to make delicious cocktails, smoothies and so much more. There are extra chairs and a large table in the kitchen closet for seating outside.

The garage, pantry, office, basement and master bedroom closet are restricted areas that are off limits. We have ring cameras in these areas; however they are completely closed off and locked. If for any reason there is a problem in relation to these areas, please call us and we will address the issue immediately.

In the upstairs area you'll open the french doors to find the master bedroom with a king bed, flatscreen tv, and a deluxe master bathroom with a standup shower, 2 sinks and a very large soaker tub. Down the hall you will find a children's room with a crib and twin bed. There are some toys in the closet as well as a queen size air mattress. The next room has a queen size bed with a nice ottoman with extra blankets at the end of the bed. The last bedroom has a full-size bed and there are extra pillows in the closet. There is a laundry room with a washer, dryer, 2 baskets, iron with board, and a hanging rack. The main upstairs bathroom has 2 sinks and a shower/tub combo. The loft is at the top of the stairs with a great view of the front yard and street and the couch is very cozy with electric reclining and lumbar support.

At the bottom of the stairs there is a half bathroom directly in front of the stairs. The main floor has a spacious open concept combining the kitchen, dining room and living areas. The living room has a gas fireplace that turns on with the flip of a switch. There is a bar with all the glasses needed for cocktails, wine and shots. The dining room seats 8 comfortably, 10 if you want to squeeze 2 more in. The island has 2 seats which will be getting upgraded soon. The island is a wonderful place to prepare meals.

The house has a driveway big enough for up to 4 vehicles depending on the size. Uber is available throughout the entire area if needed. There is also a train that runs from Hammond, IN to downtown Chicago and it also goes to the Indiana Dunes, Michigan City and Beverly Shores. There are a lot of fun places to go and things to see around here and transportation is very much available in this area.

No pets, smoking, or parties. Quiet hours are from 10pm - 6am. No commercial photography or filming. Maximum 10 guests. Check in time is at 3pm, however if the property has been cleaned and is prepared for check in prior to 3pm, we can make an exception. Simply contact us and we will let you know if it is ready. Check out time is at 12pm.

Easy access to water either public access or off our private dock. Additionally, enjoy 13 acres of wooded area, picnic area, fire pit off private creek.
