" - "This is a beautifully new or redone small hotel right on the bay. The rooms are spacious and the staff is extremely warm, welcoming and attentive. There is a beautiful infinity pool in addition to the swimming bay and and plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas to enjoy sitting by the pool while overlook the fabulous view of the bay. There are water toys for free use (kayaks, paddle boards...) and the swimming is delightful. Very calm bay with clear water so you can see the bottom of the ocean and all the fish. The on-sight restaurant serves dinner and breakfast for a fee and is very good. We didn’t feel the need to go anywhere else except to the little market next door to have supplies to make basic and quick breakfasts and lunches. Kitchen in the room was stocked and perfect for our stay. The location is at one end of the island with few hotels and restaurants so if you are looking for urban life or lots of cafes to choose from, go somewhere else. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat to enjoy the ocean and view, swim, walk, relax, this is your place. We plan to come back!"

- "The owner made us fresh fish on the grill one evening which was a lovely addition to our stay. Nice family run place. It is comfy enough and clean enough with good aircon. However, it was let down by it's dated interior and rude family members and owner of the guest house. Firstly, they took our passports to check us in and said they would return them straight away. An hour later we still hadn't had them back so went to find someone to ask for them. We couldn't find anyone on the property until we found an older lady who couldn't speak much English saying they'd be back in an hour (not ok). We called the contact number for the properly and different really rude ladies answered saying the owner would be back with our passports 'soon' (really not ok). We demanded for the owner to come back immediately with them and he came around 20 minutes later (very reluctantly) with them. This didn't make us feel comfortable at all, so do not leave your passports with them! We stayed the two nights as planned. But on the first morning the old lady spoke to us again demanding, very rudely our room key. There were no more incidents after this however, they need to understand that how they were treating guests did not make us feel welcome and very uncomfortable. There was one older man at the guest house who was very lovely and answered a few questions about the island we had. I hope they take this review in to account as it has potential to be a very lovely place to stay. "

- "We stayed for 2 nights, first night in a 12 sqm room second night in a big apartment. Both had lovely balconies with nice views over the bay. Clean and good rooms. What we didn’t like was the restaurant in the bottom floor. First evening we had dinner and had chosen menu of the day. We had Scampi with linguine, there was one medium sized shrimp plus a few 10mm size in the creamy sauce. As desert we should have a pancake. However, we were informed that the pancakes were finished despite we were the second guest for the evening. We can’t recommend the restaurant, chose something else."

They serve high quality food in the restaurant at lunch and dinner and booking is recommended, not a place for a cheap snack but the supermarket is very close by so we cooked pasta in the room and prepared a couple of lunches. Very close to beautiful beaches as well as the glorious pool. We enjoyed seeing Louie, their gentle giant of a dog strolling around occasionally. We had a great time and thoroughly recommend Pine Tree."

Polace is very popular among sailors and yachtsmen to do their anchorage there due to its sheltered position. It has a couple of restaurants and cafes, as well as a shop for basic provisions. There are also several places where guests can rent bicycles and scooters. You can choose between several restaurants to enjoy domestic Mediterranean cuisine or to relax on the beach.
The village has a number of ancient ruins dating from the 1st to the 6th centuries. Greatest significance is the Roman palace hence the name “Polace” from the 5th century whose walls dominate the village. This is one of the largest buildings in Dalmatia from the Roman period.
