We invite you to relax and enjoy our beautiful, peaceful retreat nestled in five private acres on South Pender Island. The property is sunny and warm with ocean glimpses from the cottage, deck and bathtub. The open concept cottage includes a spacious full height sleeping loft, fully outfitted kitchen with granite counter tops, bathroom with walk-in shower, and outdoor bathtub. The eclectic furniture consists of an antique industrial table and stools, modern sofa and ottomans, and a comfortable queen bed. The cottage, completed in 2013, is close to hiking trails, beaches, Poet's Cove Resort and Port Browning Marina. We try to reduce our environmental footprint through the use of environmentally friendly cleaning and bath products. Please note that pets are not allowed on furniture or the bed. Completion of construction on Canal Road is due to commence March 2023 and hopefully be completed by June. It is unclear at this time whether there will be road closures associated with the 2025 construction.

But you'll likely spend much of your time on the spacious deck, enjoyable any time of year. Summer is sun drenched all day thanks to our south east exposure. Ocean front house on one acre in rural setting very private and quiet. Great views of Saturna Island and Mount Baker. It is close to Poets Cove Resort which has a swimming pool, National Parks for hiking and access to two public beaches. Kayak launching is easy and the area is flat which makes it good for bike riding.

The house sleeps four with a queen size bed in the master bedroom and two twins in the second bedroom. There is one full bathroom with bathtub and shower and one half bath.

Please note that the washer and dryer are only available for stays of two weeks and longer unless a special arrangement is made.

The cottage can sleep six with the private master bedroom downstairs, a trundle bed (two singles upstairs) and a comfy pull-out couch in the living area.

The bathroom includes a bath, shower and a heated floor.

The modern kitchen (also with a heated floor) is fully equipped complete with oven, microwave and stove. All crockery, pots, pans, cutlery, cups, mugs and glasses are provided.

The living area has a gas fireplace, a flat-screen TV with DVD and high speed internet access.

The large deck, facing west over the ocean, offers great sunsets and fabulous views year round. There is also a gas BBQ, lounges, and outdoor table and chairs.

There is an abundance of wildlife including eagles, otters, seals and deer while whale sightings from the deck are frequent.

Free parking for one vehicle is provided outside the front door to the cottage.

Getting there

You can get to Pender Island by BC Ferries, float plane, water taxi or private boat. The cottage is within easy walking distance of the ferry terminal at Otter Bay.

Shopping

A general store is a two minute walk away (closed in low season) however a taxi enables guests to travel to the Driftwood Shopping Centre for groceries, gifts, books, liquor, banking and other necessities.

Other Activities

Sunshine! It has been quoted that Pender Island gets as much annual sunshine as the Okanagan.

There are 2 heated pools (one for adults only) as well as a marina. The pools are closed during winter months. Please send request for the dates that the pools are open

Scooters are available for rental at the general store.

A nearby 9-hole golf course (0.5 km away) and there are many wonderful hikes with spectaculat views.

The 58” Samsung TV offers some traditional channels through an antenna as well as a selection of streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, Crave, HBO and Prime Video (availability rotates). The cottage also has a smart Nest video speaker equipped with a premium Spotify account.

The fully stocked kitchen has all amenities, including pots and pans, many small appliances (espresso, coffee maker and microwave) and some spices, oils, condiments, complete coffee and tea station and staples like rice and pasta. Dishwasher, gas range, microwave, double sink and ample cabinet and counter space allow for quick or full on meal prep. There are two bathrooms, a powder room on the main and a full bath including tub and shower upstairs.

The kitchen is fully equipped complete with stainless steel appliances. All dishes, glassware, cookware and utensils included.

The living area has a gas fireplace, a 50" flat-screen Smart TV with high speed internet access and comfortable seating.

The large deck overlooks the pool and marina. There is plenty of relaxing to do with a gas BBQ, outdoor table and chairs, and lighted umbrella.

Free parking for one vehicle is provided outside the front door of the cottage.

The most common way to access Pender Island is by ferry - we recommend making reservations both on and off the island, especially at peak times. The cottage is within easy walking distance of the ferry terminal at Otter Bay.
You can also get to Pender by boat or float plane.

There is a small store and coffee shop on site (closed in low season). The Driftwood Shopping Centre is about a ten minute drive away where you can stock up on groceries, gifts, gas and any other necessities.

There are two heated pools on site, (one family and one adults only)with washrooms and showers. The pools are open seasonally - May through September.There is also a games room in the main building adjacent to the family pool.

Pender Island offers a multitude of activities including golf, disc golf, hiking, kayaking, paddleboarding. During the summer there is a Farmer's market every Saturday morning where you can buy fresh local produce, baking and purchase items from the talented local artists.

Unwind in your own private 9 acre forest on the waterfront of Bedwell Harbour. Look across the Harbour to the Gulf Island National Reserve and colorful Salish skies. This is relaxation and privacy like none other with Seals, Otters, Herons, and Eagles visiting regularly. The cabin has one bedroom with a queen bed and large loft with another queen bed and double bed pull out. The cabin is rustic but very cozy. Large porch overlooking the harbour. 360 degree views of ocean and forest.

Must have 4wd vehicle to drive down the very steep dirt hill to the cabin or park at top and walk 5min in. We provide a wagon. We recommend everyone get out and survey the road before driving down to make sure they are comfortable with it. It is an adventure to get to! But paradise at the end of the road.

- "We loved the place - perfect for a couple, with amazing views, cozy nooks, and plenty of quiet rock beach." - "We were looking for private accommodations, near or on the water, away from roads so we would not hear the sounds of cars. We wanted to feel like we were getting away from it all for a nice relaxing reset and spending quality time together.Although it is a 'rustic & quaint' cabin, it is super comfy with the big oversized couch, double soaker tub and quality queen mattress. Its thoughtfully and tastefully decorated, and has lots of games, dvds and videos. (but no wifi). The place oozes relaxation and I kept commenting on how much I liked it to my partner during the stay. This was a midwinter trip and I was worried we would have to work to keep the wood stove heat going, but the cabin also has a heat pump and electric baseboard and we were warm all 3 nights. The power did surge on and off during a wind storm but the hosts have supplies for this situation outlined in their manual and we felt safe and warm with the stove. The adorable steovetop/oven is fuelled by propane so we knew we would be able to keep nourished too. We were surrounded by eagles in nearby trees and enjoyed walking the ocean edge. The bay is so still in the morning we felt like we were on a lake. We loved the locals we met at the farmers market, and the vibe of the island and hope to come back and stay again in warmer months. On top of all the loveliness of the location, cabin and amenities, the hosts communication was top notch.What to bring: bluetooth speaker, slippers, ground coffee, bubblebath"

Grab an apple on your stroll to the beach for a snack from our trees. Our huge level walk-out beach is perfect for walking and great for swimming and any water sports. We are located right across the road from Port Browning Pub and Marina with great dining, public pool and paddle board rentals. Also a quick walk to Driftwood Mall to have a great coffee and cinnamon bun or pickup any food at the local grocery store. We're happy to assist with any questions while you stay at our cottage.
