Set on eight private acres between pine forests and the historic Oberon-Tarana rail trail, Frogspark has five bedrooms- two with a queen bed, one with a double bed, one with a double bed and single, and one with a double and a single with a trundle. A rustic home with a mountain-cabin feel, set high on a hill and nestled in the trees, Wombalee Farm is a peaceful retreat for families, couples or friends.

Our farm is a perfect base for exploring the spectacular Mayfield Gardens, Jenolan Caves and Kanangra-Boyd National Park. Or simply curl up on the couch and enjoy a log fire, the high country seasons and amazing views through our oversized window.

Wombalee Farm is set on approx 70 acres overlooking the beautiful Tarana Valley. We are 10 minutes from Oberon, 10 minutes from Tarana, and approx 30 minutes to Bathurst.

The home has three bedrooms - one with a queen bed, one with a double bed, and a large room with a single, a king single, and a single bunk bed. There are two trundle beds which can squeeze in extra guests on request. There is one large bathroom (no bath) and a seperate laundry.

The living space is open and features a well equipped kitchen (no dishwasher), a large dining table and comfortable seating by the log fire/TV. There is also a reading nook with a huge window which captures amazing views towards Mount Tarana and Evans Crown, and overlooking the valley and surrounding farmland.

On the deck there is a large swinging egg chair which is the ideal place to enjoy a good book or a glass of wine. There's also and an outdoor table and chairs for meals or drinks plus a terrace area with a BBQ and fire pit which also captures the amazing views.

We will leave you enough firewood for a fire per day of your stay, and there is plenty of kindling to collect from around the property. Additional firewood can be purchased in town if you burn through your allocation.

You will have sole use of the house and have complete privacy during your stay. The garage will be available for use throughout your stay, but there is no access to the large farm shed.

You are welcome to explore the property during your stay, but please remember to leave gates as you find them, and be careful near the livestock. Whist our small herd of Speckle Parks have a lovely temperament, our calves are still getting used to people so please exercise caution.

There may be the occasional need for some farm work to take place while guests are staying at Wombalee Farm. We will ensure your privacy is respected, but you may see a farm vehicle or our farm manager in the paddocks from time-to-time.

Other things to note:

As there is only one bathroom, this property is best suited to families with children or smaller groups of adults. Bookings for 8 adults may be considered, but more details will be required before the booking is approved.

There are two dams on the property. One is within approx 100m of the house and is not fenced. Please be mindful of this if you have young children.

We are, however, set up for children and have toys, DVDs, swings, a trampoline and plenty to keep them entertained while at Wombalee. A port-a-cot, highchair and MacPac hiking backpack are also available for use if required.

WiFi is also a bit hit-and-miss. Phone reception is great for both Optus and Telstra, but during peak times the internet service can be slow and unsuitable for streaming services.

The driveway to the house is a dirt road, but accessible for 2WD vehicles. Access to the paddocks is best done on foot to avoid the steep terrain and getting bogged.

Oberon is known to get cold in winter (and you might even see snow). Please bring your winter woolies! We have heaters in each of the bedrooms. The main living area can be cold first thing in the morning, but can be quickly heated up with the reverse cycle air conditioner and a log fire.

This is a rural area and we are surrounded by wildlife who call this part of the world their home. This includes (but not limited to): kangaroos, deer, echidnas, wombats, frogs, birds, skinks, lizards, mice, rats, snakes, spiders, midges, mosquitoes, flies, beetles, native bees, native wasps and rabbits. We provide a can of insect spray under the kitchen sink if you see an insect that you don’t like. The occasional spider in the house is considered normal. On bushwalks, you might encounter lizards and snakes; more so in Spring and Summer. Guests accept this and take responsibility for their safety. We cannot control the wildlife. If you make a booking at Wombalee Farm we assume that you’ve read this information and agree to our policy regarding ‘pests’. Cancellations by you before, during or after your stay due to ‘pests’ will not be refunded.

Blighhaus was a very small basalt cottage built on the high side of Bligh street in the early 1950's in the cosy township of Oberon in Central New South Wales with a view of the rolling vistas of the high country. The original rough built cottage is still part of the home and encompasses the newly furbished kitchen and rear bathroom. Even the original rendered outhouse is now joined to the home via the modern sun filled rear entertainment room. The home has been extended to include 4 bedrooms (3 queen & 1 single) and an open plan dining lounge. Now every corner has been thoughtfully considered by a stylist, this home has a pod coffee machine, internet, pillow-topped mattresses, and is decorated to make you feel like you're in a designer home.

Only 2 minutes drive to the main street of Oberon, Blighhaus is a simple but comfortable place to call home while you enjoy exploring the Central Tablelands, just a hop, step and a jump from the world famous Jenolan Caves, Mayfield Gardens, Abercrombie House, Bathurst, Kanangra-Boyd National Park and the heritage listed Oberon Railway station. Plus it's a must to visit, in town, the local Long Arm Cafe with almost all of the food being made from fresh local produce, the Malachi Gilmore Memorial Hall (a heritage-listed former cinema and dance hall). If you're more outdoor-minded, Blighhaus is a convenient staging fround to tee off at the Oberon Golf Club, to fish and sail in Lake Oberon, and to trek through the Reef Reserve.

A great heater in the living room meant it was nice and warm, and the beds were extremely comfortable! It was one of our best trips. House is located in quite suburb close to city Center. Coz of rise in covid case, we didn’t go out for site seeing. Lake Oberon Estate is located on the shores of Lake Oberon and is arguably the best location in Oberon and the perfect destination to simply escape from the city to the mountains for a relaxing weekend with family and friends. The views of the lake and surrounding undulating hills are truly spectacular. The clarity and number of the stars in the night sky is absolutely amazing. The drive into the Oberon township is less than 5 minutes away.

There are many activities to do on the property such as; taking a walk to the lake, riding your bicycle on the property and into town, kayaking in the lake with your own kayak, fishing in the lake for Trout, working out in the gym located on the property or just relax and gather around the fire pit at night listening to and telling stories with family and friends.
