- "Beautiful place to stay. Greeted by owner and to our surprise we had been upgraded to a king bed in a huge room. You do have to duck to enter the shower. Would be beneficial to upgrade the mattress. Very clean room and butlers pantry stocked with goodies. Restaurant was closed due to holiday but menu sounded great. " - "We absolutely loved the stay... Such a charming hotel with an amazing restaurant below. Delicious food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. We would have ate there both nights, however we were there for my daughter's dance comp and she fell asleep after a day of performing at 4 pm and slept right on through dinner. My parents were able to catch a bite at the Tremont grille for breakfast and said it was delicious as well. We unfortunately couldn't as it's closed on Sundays. (totally understandable as the owners need their time! :-)) Also... this is by no means against the property but definitely something to possibly expect.... the people of Marshalltown seem to LOVE their loud cars. From about 6-11 pm many enjoyed showing off the loudness cruising the main drag which was unfortunately outside our window. Regardless.. we'd still definitely stay again if our schedule ever brings us back to Marshalltown IA. If anything... we may make it back just for another stay and a dinner at the Tremont. :-) "
