This newly-renovated two storey house is perched on the edge of traditional Merdanya village in central Bulgaria (near Veliko Turnovo) with a brand new, large underground pool. Upstairs, it has two double bedrooms with French doors opening onto a large balcony with wonderful views across the Stara Planina foothills - perfect for morning coffee or that evening glass of wine - a bathroom and a twin room. Downstairs has a spacious open plan layout between the living room, dining room and kitchen with all modern amenities, plus a bathroom. This is the place to go if you want to get away from it all and re-charge in pristine countryside in a part of Europe where life is still slow and deeply traditional.

In the heart of traditional rural Bulgaria, this is a true country idyll with herds of goats and friendly neighbours producing their own honey and wine. We have a local agent who looks after all our guests needs, also a friend in nearby Hotnitsa who runs local cultural tours, and a friendly taxi driver who will also double as a pizza delivery man. Merdanya is a small authentic Bulgarian village - expect to see wattle and daub houses, babushkas in head scarves, herds of goats and the odd horse-pulled cart. Nearly every villager grows their own food so the gardens are full of proudly tended corn, peppers and vines.

The house is an easy 10 minute walk to the centre of the village, where you can pick up daily essentials.There are two little grocery/general stores which are good for food basics including bread, cheese, salad, coffee, beer wine, local deli provisions, sweets etc. Other shops include an ironmonger, two café / bars,a pottery (where visits can be arranged) and a fish shop. Local supplies are just that – local – so whatever is in season is in the shops - and fantastically fresh and full of flavour. And the default method of food production is organic in small plots and gardens.

The historic city of Veliko Turnovo - which was the medieval capital of Bulgaria and an important cultural centre - is just 15 minutes drive away with its bars, cafés, restaurants, banks, shops etc. There are some stunning nature walks in the area, plus a beautiful monastery high on a hilltop nearby, plus horse riding, birdwatching, archery and fishing all nearby. Villa Kalin is located in the vicinity of Kilifarevo monastery, known as a centre of Tarnovo Literary School during the First Bulgarian Kingdom, and is only 12 km away from the old capital city of Veliko Turnovo. The Belitsa river, a tributary to the Yantra river runs through the small and scenic village of Natsovtsi. The first slopes of the Balkan mountains (Stara planina) rise here. The proximity to the international road E85 provides fast and convenient transport communication with the nearby city of Veliko Turnovo and other parts of the country.
Villa Kalin is a two-floor newly decorated house with a garden, Bbq and four parking spaces. On the first floor there is a dining room with a fully equipped kitchen - fridge, cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, cutlery, a toster, an electric kettle and a drier. Additionally there is a study and spacious living room with satellite Tv, Dvd and a convertible bed couch, as well as Wc with a shower.

Set in the renovated property from 1904 and with a large garden and barbecue facilities, Chamurkov Guest House is 3 km away east from Veliko Tarnovo city, Bulgaria in quiet village called Malki Chiflik. It features self-catered accommodation with free Wi-Fi.

On the first floor of the guest house there is a Gray room (3 persons) with its own private bathroom with shower. Here is the internal barbecue and tavern with total area of 45 square meters with 25 comfortable seats. Very comfort and warmth creates the fireplace and shaped around it couches, tables and chairs. The kitchen is equipped with all necessary utensils and lots of modern appliances such as: oven, stove, coffee machine - coffee on the house :) microwave, chopper, blender, electric kettle, party grill, electric barbecue, sandwich grill, including ice maker, big dish washer, big refrigerator with frizer, another two big fridges and washing mashine for your laundry.

They have 2 shared bathrooms. Second floor reveals a picturesque view of Veliko Tarnovo city. All rooms here are designed in retro authentic style. The furniture is antique and restored by the owner himself.

Heating of the main house during the winter is with fireplace on woods and radiators in all rooms.

For your party there is big karaoke Sony loudspeaker with two wireless microphones.
