LOCAL AMENITIES: there are many supermarkets nearby including a mega Tesco, 2xAldes, 2 SPAR,s & many smaller CBA’s. The only Water park at the lake is in the town. The water park is less than 2 kms away with large car park and is fully serviced with every amenity, slides, flumes pools, restaurants and cafes. At the nearby Lake front Promenade you have more restaurants, pubs, cocktail bars, beach areas, marinas, cafes, shops, boutiques, supermarkets, bank, pharmacy, 24 hour doctor clinic. The beach is clean and safe for children to run around and the lake is shallow and great for swimming and splashing around or hiring Kayaks, sailing/electric boats & lots more. The weather was a bit too cold by adult standards for use of the pool but the children enjoyed their time in it. The views of the countryside and Lake Balaton were refreshing in the morning with our coffee on the huge patio and in the evening with our glass of wine on the rooftop terrace. There was plenty of outdoor furniture to be able to enjoy the scenery in comfort. Having 2 generous sized "master bedrooms" allowed each of us to have our own private space while the children enjoyed the company of their cousins in the 2 other large bedrooms. The roomy modern bathrooms provided ample space for several people to get ready in the morning. Overall I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet country property with convenient access to tourist towns and activities. The thermal spas of Heviz and the Festetics Palace in Keszthely were easy drives and enjoyed by all. The Heviz piac (farmers market) was a great place to purchase fresh meats, cheeses, fruits, vegetables and bakery as well souvenirs for family back home. The house was only 2 1/2 hours from Budapest, 2 hours from Zagreb, Croatia and Vienna, Austria and 3 hours from Lubjiana, Slovenia, for an American these were easy day trips. We had relatives living 30 km away and the property location was convenient for frequent visits and the large outdoor space was so nice for enjoying a meal together. Thanks to the owners for leaving us a bottle of wine and water for our arrival. After many hours of travel it was much appreciated. The neighbors do have several loud dogs that barked especially in the morning but were not disruptive during the night. The approach to the property is a short driveway from the road and we did have trouble with our low riding cars bottoming out if the vehicles were fully loaded. These would be my only negative comments."

"Het Herenhuis", located in Poroszlo on the edge of the village at +/- 1 km from the lake, the supermarket and various restaurants, has a large garden with a private heated swimming pool of 10 x 5 m. The house is very suitable for a large family or 2 friendly families.
The main house comprises a spacious living room and fully installed kitchen with a wide sliding door to the covered terrace. The kitchen is equipped with a combination freezer, vitro-ceramic hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker + senseo, kettle and blender.
A wide corridor leads to the master bedroom (double bed, 1.80 m) with ensuite bathroom and private toilet and to the 2nd bedroom (2 single beds) also with its own bathroom. A 2nd toilet is located in the hallway.
Washing machine and ironing facilities available.
The guesthouse consists of 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms. The first bedroom with a double bed (1.80 m) has its own bathroom with toilet. The other two bedrooms (one with a double bed 1.60 m and one with 1 single bed + double bed) have a shared bathroom with toilet.
There are 2 cots available as well as a high chair and playpen.
WIFI is available as well as TV with DVD player and connection via TV Flanders. Nine bicycles (incl. 3 children's bicycles) are available to our guests as well as reading material (Dutch + German), DVDs and children's toys.
The swimming pool is located between the two houses and is heated with solar panels.
Both the garden and the swimming pool are regularly maintained by a gardener.

It is renovated inside and out, has a 5x8m pool and double carport. An acer of secluded land, and peace. The garden is quite open yet felt private and beside the covered 'veranda' it was always possible to find a shady place under the trees. We very much enjoyed the swimming pool. The only reservation about the pool is that the overall depth is about 1.50m and would not be suitable for young children. We enjoyed the comfort and peacefulness of the house and found plenty of variety for activities in the area. It was a perfect holiday.""
