Enjoy the nationally acclaimed Oregon Coast Music Festival in July. Visit the annual holiday lights display at nearby Shore Acres State Park in December. Coos Bay’s downtown farmer’s market on Wednesdays is very popular. With the ocean just a few miles away, the Bay, and abundant coastal rivers and forests, you can enjoy great fishing and a wide variety of outdoor activities.

Getting Around:
Downtown Coos Bay is within walking distance and there is limited public transportation.

A trio of state parks are located just 13 miles southwest of Coos Bay: Sunset Bay State Park, Shore Acres State Park, and Cape Arago State Park.

A hiking trail, which is part of the Coast Trail, connects the three parks.

If you plan to head out to our wonderful beaches along Cape Arago Highway (which dead ends at Cape Arago) there is a shortcut route from south Coos Bay to Charleston via Libby Lane. It makes Charleston 10 minutes away versus 20 or 30 minutes going through town. A map with the route highlighted is available in the apartment for guest use.

Want to try your luck at clamming during your time in Coos Bay? A selection of rubber boots, shovels, and buckets are available for resident use on a first come basis (usually not a problem).

The large private yard has soft grass for playing outdoor games and gorgeous views from the Pointe. There is comfortable seating, a small bistro table and a gas fire pit for a fun evening around the fire.

There is also a SHARED BBQ Grill that is shared with the separate, detached MAIN house. Both homes have completely separate & private yard space with the exception of the grill which is central to both properties.

BEACH Access: There is a stairway to the right of the property with direct access to the beach (this has been under construction and guest should use at their own risk) There is also a second access further down the lane.

The Guest House is located on Cape Arago Highway in Coos Bay, Oregon. The home is approx .5 miles to Sunset Bay, .3 miles to Cape Arago Lighthouse and .3 miles to Yoakum Pointe State Park. Shore Acres is MUST see is 2.7 miles past the property on Cape Arago Highway. Less than 2 miles to Charleston shopping, dining & entertainment and less than 15 min to Coos Bay. The house is close to hiking, fishing and dining. Close to Bandon Dunes, Coos Bay & North Bend.
Charleston is an unincorporated town of Coos County and is located less than 2 miles from the property. (the property address is Coos Bay, however Charleston is the closest town) Home to one of the largest commercial fishing fleets in the state of Oregon. This small, unique fishing community is known for its charming marina, endless fishing, friendly merchants, lush state parks, beautiful beaches and a distinctly charismatic local community. Take a walk on the docks, paddle the South Slough, buy fresh seafood from the boats or catch some yourself. - "This accommodation was a large heritage home made into nice sized apartments. This apartment had a nice sized kitchen with all amenities. Coffee and treats were left for us . The bedroom was simple but the bed was very comfortable. A white noise machine was in the bedroom if needed. We spent a few evenings watching a movie and felt very safe. Parking was provided for us in the back of building. Highly recommend the beautiful Japanese garden and Shores Acre!! Then we went to Newport and watched the seals over cocktails. Great stay here. Would return!!"

There is only room for 1 car. (Very limited parking) You are sharing parking space with two other units.

Other things to note
You share a trash can with the upstairs tenants. Trash needs to be taken out to the curb weekly. Instructions are at the apartment.. The internet router is located for both the upstairs apartment and downstairs apartment in this unit. You may need to unplug the router and plug back in if there is ever an issue.

You must get general delivery while at the apartment. Please don't have mail sent there. With the house and two apartments the post office gets confused so general delivery through the post office is best.

The large private yard has soft grass for playing outdoor games and gorgeous views from the Pointe. There is comfortable seating, a small bistro table and a gas fire pit for a fun evening around the fire.

There is also a SHARED BBQ Grill that is shared with the separate, detached MAIN house. Both homes have completely separate & private yard space with the exception of the grill which is central to both properties.

BEACH Access: There is a stairway to the right of the property with direct access to the beach (this has been under construction and guest should use at their own risk) There is also a second access further down the lane.

Wifi and cable is also included. Small market 2 blockes away Walmart is 1 1/2 miles from house. Near the bay for crabbing and clamming. About 20 minutes from the Charlston Marina and other beaches.

The place where guests stay is a two-bedroom apartment above the garage it's attached to the house. It has a private entrance, there's a shared area where guess can enjoy BBQ and Jacuzzi in covered patio, at the front door of the apartment there's a little deck where you can sit out there stand and look at some of the sites around the area or around my neighborhood there's also a flower Garden in the corner right next to where you come in and Park. due to the covide-19 I sanitize high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob

Spacious and quiet apartment on the second floor of the newly remodeled house. Located close to highway 101, Mingus park, Coos Village. 2-bedroom unit accommodates a family or group, when using the queen hide-a-bed sleeps up to 6 people.

The space
The apartment consists of 2 bedrooms. The bigger bedroom has a wonderful bay view from the window, 2 closets and 2 dressers.
The smaller bedroom has spacious closet, dresser and bed table.
The living space is very spacious and bright, you can see the bay through the big windows and sliding doors.
The kitchen is stocked to make the meals you love (or just coffee). There is fridge with freezer, electric stove with oven, microwave, toaster, dishwasher. It is newly remodeled, with granite countertops and isle.
The place is equipped with few thermostats, which our guests can adjust after their desires. In the summer time we provide the fans, which are sufficient in our climate to make our guests comfortable.
