" - "Hillview is quite possibly the worst possible name for this establishment. It is much more accurately named Beautiful Sea Views. After driving or walking up one of the steepest hills you will encounter near Grand Anse, you will be rewarded with beautiful poolside views of Grand Anse beach and a poolside bar. More importantly, I have stayed here several times and the staff and service professionals have always gone above and beyond to meet every need. Some have complained that there are no refunds and that is probably the only thing you will not receive from Hillview. Several people have complained about the owner's gruff demeanor but he also goes above and beyond to make sure that residents are accommodated. For the price, there are very few places worth a stay more than Hillview in Grenada. Also, I don't know if it's just my bad luck or what but every vehicle I have rented from Hillview or elsewhere has had some major or minor issue so I will not hold that against Hillview. If you are looking for local living, a poolside retreat, and some of the most amazing views, THEN Hillview is worth a stay. "

- "This is a wonderfully romantic hideaway, especially at night and during sunset it is always beautiful, even during overcast weather. Great scenic area for Photoshoots. We spent just over a week here before heading to Sandals, and even with all the luxuries there, we found ourselves missing Hideaway apartments. It's incredibly quiet, secluded, and perfect for a couple like us who value privacy and seclusion. Everything we need/desire is within a 5 - 30min walk. We celebrated our birthdays peacefully. The staff were incredibly sweet, welcoming, and always quick to attend to our needs. Many thanks to Telisha, Janelle, and the other young woman who assisted and welcomed us during our stay. I would suggest they get mattress toppers to add softness to the beds. It would also be good if there were kitchen towels, cleaning spray and wipes to help tidy up after ourselves. Also think the check in process should be better with someone meeting you at the property to let you in and the apartment doors should be numbered as it was confusing to find which apartment we were staying in. Interaction with Guests

As we live in the main house, we are available for help and advice throughout your stay. Denis was born in Grenada so has extensive knowledge of everything you could possibly want to see and do on the Island, all the best places to visit and eat etc. We have two dogs, who would love extra walks with willing guests and are excellent alert dogs.

The Neighbourhood

Bathway is an area of outstanding beauty, situated in a quiet residential area. Friendly locals use the beach regularly although it is very quiet during the week and out of school holidays. Safe swimming is marked by the reef and has a lifeguard during the day. Fishing can be done on the cliffs opposite the flat or along the beach. There are several beach bars selling local rum, bar food/snacks. There are local country and cliff walks down to Levera beach (nesting beach of the endangered Leatherback Turtles ), Levera National park and Lake, and Savan Swazee. Most provisions can be bought at Sauteurs about 5 miles away, or from the larger busier town of Grenville about 10 miles. A small local shop is at River Sallee, a 15/20 minute walk.

Getting Around

Local buses from River Sallee, about a 15 to 20 minute walk, take you to Grenville (change for St Georges) and Sauteurs (nearest shopping town). A car is recommended but not essential, especially if you like walking along coastal routes to catch the bus. Buses from River Sallee are very cheap and regular and stop to pick you up and drop you at your request.

Other Things to Note

We can arrange tours of the Island and collection (at a cost) from the airport. Use of a washing machine within the house is available at additional cost. Due to environmental consciousness we have chosen not to fit air conditioning but the house is kept naturally cool due to the sea breezes. The breeze also ensures we are rarely troubled by mosquitoes and sandflys!!

- "I stayed for a week at The Glass House and enjoyed every minute of is. The apartment was clean and well laid out. It is close to the beach on the quiet side of the island which was the perfect location for me. I can't say enough great things about Jane and Denis. They were very warm and welcoming - providing me with a lot of information of the island. As others have said, they made sure to ask if I needed anything if they were going out. They offered to take me to some of the nearby sites and joined me on a couple of treks. They got groceries for me before I arrived, picked me up at the airport and dropped me off. I thoroughly enjoyed those trips with them - talking and connecting. They felt like family. Jane arranged a day tour of the island for me with a local guide. She also arranged for me to join the turtle tour at Levera Beach and, because I didn't have a car, made sure to check with someone so that I had a ride back late at night. Jane and Denis exemplify what it means to be great hosts!"

Grenada is very small, only 13 miles wide and 21 miles long which means everything is in easy reach. It is possible to drive around the entire island in 2.5 hours! Out of the hurricane belt, Grenada is popular year-round for holiday makers and yachties, who know they can moor their boats here and still be covered by insurance.

Also known as “The Spice Island”, Grenada is a firm favourite for foodies, the tastes and scents of our most famous exports surround you and tempt you to try new dishes. We have placed a few cookbooks in each villa to inspire you, and welcome baskets include local fruit and handmade treats. We were thrilled to be part of the rebranding process to Pure Grenada, to encourage tourism, when they used our property as a film location.

We are close to Sauteurs, the third largest city on the island. There you will find several small grocery stores, a small fish market, a selection of places to eat or get take-away meals, and an MNIB (the farmers co-operative) which is where you will find fresh seasonal produce. Grenville, the second-largest city on the island, is about a half-hour’s drive, or taxi ride. Grenville features a wonderful fish market and farmers market, as well as two larger grocery shops and another MNIB.

Live like a local, and be welcomed by our charming, friendly neighbours in this unspoilt corner of the Caribbean!

We are currently renting two of the three villas, and the apartment, providing room for larger groups of up to 10 should you be travelling with a larger group!

We are sorry but we are unable to accept bookings arriving Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day so that our property managers can enjoy those holidays with their family.
