- "This is Truly a 5 Stare apartment " - "Room has utensils, microwave, fridge and induction stove for simple cooking. There’s a washing machine with laundry detergent and drying rack at the balcony. Everything is new and clean. Location is quiet and safe with security guard (non-English speaking though) at the lobby. Access to the room is by digital lock and physical key (my assigned room was in a building named "The Sea"). There’s a small convenience shop on the ground floor of the opposite building (named "The Hill") that sells some groceries and toiletries. Some negatives: No daily housekeeping so you’ll have to clear your own trash (dispose of them at the garbage room next to the elevator) Communications with the apartment staff is solely via Whatsapp prior to my arrival date (my emails were not answered - I had to send reminders for a response). There wasn’t any staff waiting at the building entrance when I arrived (taxi transfer was pre-arranged by the staff -250,000D from airport). Had to get help from the driver to contact the staff to meet me as otherwise I wouldn’t be able to find my way to the room and learn how to use some of the equipment. The staff who showed up doesn't speak English so translation app is absolutely essential. The check-in instruction is cumbersome & stressful. Little information was given in advance & vital room details were only sent by Whatsapp AFTER my flight touched down! Would have preferred to have ALL details at least a day BEFORE my check-in rather than be left clueless."

The team at Sole Casa were friendly and helpful. There’s a check-in office on-site and they made sure I was settled in properly. I also appreciated the cleaning service every two days — it kept the place tidy without being intrusive. - "Tranquil, charming, well-built and well-maintained, this newly constructed hotel in 2022 has nice details like wood built-ins, cabinets, trim, and high, wood-paneled ceilings. I stayed in one of the pool-view bungalows with giant bathroom, two showers—an inside one and a private outdoors one—good air conditioning and strong wifi. Best feature for me was the pool that got sun all day long! It’s surrounded by a beautiful Asian garden with many bonsai. Nice deck on one of the buildings with great views of the surrounding hills. I didn’t have hot water but the staff immediately gave me access to another hot shower next door. The husband and wife owners live on the property, often around and eager to make your stay the best possible. If you need anything, just ask! But have Google Translate ready as English is tricky. If you go beyond the basics, you will have a lovely conversation. They will cook you a yummy breakfast and bring it to your room. The American eggs were the best option for me! By car/motorbike, 5 mins to town, 10 mins to main resorts and Long Beach, 15 mins to airport, and within 45 mins of other, better beaches on the island. Some might ding the location, but it was quiet, no pesky roosters, and central for beach excursions. I rented a motorbike from the hotel but Grab app taxis are easy. It is not ocean front, but it is excellent value for the money, and one of the better budget hotels I stayed at in Vietnam. And that oh so sunny pool! "
