This free standing RUSTIC cottage has an open-plan design featuring a sleeping area, a living area and a dining area with kitchenette. The kitchenette has basic essentials - mini fridge, kettle, microwave, crockery and cutlery (heat & eat facilities)

The cottage is furnished with a double bed (antique cast iron bed - is a little creaky!) & ensuite bathroom with toilet and wash basin, walk in shower. Completely private. Sleeps a maximum of 2 adults

The space
The property is fully fenced with a large garden. Outside seating area perfect for sipping coffee or enjoying a glass of wine. The cottage is rustic and was lovingly renovated with salvaged items. Guests have the whole property to themselves. Free, off-street parking with own private entrance. Please note we have had very little rain and although we try our utmost to keep the garden watered it is a ongoing battle with the high temperatures we are currently experiencing.

For longer stays/full self catering, a stove/oven is available.

Unfortunately the cottage is too small to add additional beds for children.

Pets are welcome but must be well behaved & house trained. Unfortunately there are certain breeds of dogs we do not allow: Pit bulls, Staffy, Rottweiler, Bull Terrier. If unsure please contact us before booking.

The Cave is a self-catering apartment tucked under a pianist's sanctuary. It is just 900metres from the village but at the foot of Smithfield's koppie. The stables and a treehouse for stargazing or lookout post is at the bottom of the driveway. Smithfield's historical Boer-Brit cemetery is a landmark en route to Sanctum.
