【Due to the pandemic, we've had to ask a handful of guests to come back in the later time, however we now are happily welcoming the guests】
We are newly listed accommodation in the country side of Kyoto - Kyotamba town, Funai District. This traditional Thatched House was newly renovated 2 years ago in to a modern Japanese house. Being here is like being in your country house that you can use almost all to yourself (house owners, a family with kids are living on site).
The space
If you've dreamed of a Japanese country life style, there is the place for you to come and experience!
Here in Kyotamba, time flows slowly so it feels.
Kyotamba town has a good access to Kyoto city, and offers a perfect country life style.
We grow our vegetables (just enough to taste), feel the wind through the forest and eat organically using a high quality ingredients.
We offer vegan, vegetarian, macrobiotic food as well as if you require any allergy optional food etc. we'd be happy to assist at our best.
Our rooms are Japanese traditional straw (Tatami) rooms. Each room has a big window that looks over the Japanese rice paddies.
Also, we have a dog and chickens in the area ( No entry).
Internet wifi is available at no cost.
We offer free pickups and drop offs to the nearest station.
We also offer car rentals. Please ask as this requires extra fee.
Guest access
We have two Japanese tatami rooms - 4 adults maximum in each room.
We provide Futon (Japanese traditional beds on tatami floor), no Western style beds.
There is a bathroom, with shower and toilets are separate to the bathroom.
Breakfast is 2,500yen, and dinner is at 4,500yen per person. Optional: BBQ is available. Please message if you wish to do or have BBQ or any other optional requests.
We provide towels, and all beddings but please bring your own pajamas and all other personal belongings.
There is a public bus running close by to the nearest station.
During your stay
This traditional Japanese thatched house is almost all to yourself, but the house owner is living within.
If you like we can also offer you a tour in town in both languages Japanese and English at an extra fee.
Breakfast is at 1,000yen. Dinner is at 2,500yen per person or at 5,000yen for a live handmade buckwheat noodle performance! These are all optional.

Kyotamba town is located approx. 45㎞ North West of Kyoto station.
It is in the central area of the Kyoto prefecture, and it has been the major district that links the north and south part of Kyoto in history.
It is famous for Kyo-yasai (Vegetables produced in Kyoto) all around Japan.
Our house is open for groups for individuals. It is in a convenient location if you are to visit Kyotango, Amanohashidate in northern part of Kyoto and or experience the traditional country life style. We eat organically and are on plant-based diet. All you can eat will be organic, good quality Japanese food both traditional and modern.
In summer you can enjoy beach in the north of Kyoto, and rivers. In winter you will be welcomed by snow and the gorgeous Japanese nature.
All around the accommodation we have a garden that has been filled with green grass, we offer BBQ (vegetarian), portable swimming pool etc.
