Inspired by the tales of Don Quixote, the owner-artisan sculpted the house itself with the idea that all living creatures struggle equally for survival. He named the house after the knight-errant Quixote himself, hoping that friends would find its creative, whimsical environment a relaxing and refreshing experience. This room is playfully decorated to honor his faithful, albeit tired horse Rocinante.

Among the five fully-furnished suites in the house, Rocinante’s Pasture is a shared space for backpackers or small groups traveling together who just need a clean, basic stay package. You will share the wider, common space below with kitchen, bathroom, toilet and laundry machine at the first level of your room, but this listing is specifically for reserving the much envied loft with its cozy lounge/work space. If you are booking for three days or more, or for three guests, please reserve the room and let us know how many beds you need. We will send you a new discounted offer for this booking and change the status of the room to private if you qualify.

This room is set back from its entrance with separated bathroom and toilet shared by a maximum of four roommates. Enjoy the fresh breeze and view looking up toward the mountains from your own loft or from one of two shared balconies.

Each party of guests gets a key for their room. All guests can use the car parking, covered bike parking and laundry areas. If nature, hiking and sport is not your thing, go ahead and set an aggressive tour of Kyoto for the day, then come home to a quiet, relaxing environment away from all the tourists and bustle of the city each night.

Since this is a simple overnight stay package, additional services beyond the first/last rides to and from the station, bedding and towels are always available but may incur additional charges, so please ask.
