We requested a queen bed, but got given two singles and the room is quite small. However the heating works well and it had everything we needed. I emailed Rob to ask the best way to get to the hotel from the train station and was informed we would be picked up. Unfortunately although I emailed a couple days prior updating on our arrival time at the train station, he never replied and turned up at the station 50minutes after we arrived (at the time the busiest train arrived with most of the crowds). Rob was unable to take us to the train station for our departure but Yoshi was helpful in calling a taxi the night before. "

About Koishiya Ryokan:
Koishiya Ryokan was created by craftsmen with their taste in early Showa era in Shibu hot spring with 1300 years of history. We wanted to keep this closed Ryokan open for later generations, and so we turned the lights on in August 2015. The tasteful Japanese rooms remains the same although it was renovated to be comfortable and reasonable to fit the recently popular style.

Caf & bar in the building:
We use Hydra- 3 expresso machine made by Synesso. The coffee which is carefully prepared by our barista is everyones favourite! The coffee beans for expresso comes from dry on tree in Brazil. Different coffee beans are used every month. The atmosphere is so easy-going that guests of neighbouring Ryokan and guests for outdoor bath tour come by. You can enjoy the drinks with JPY 500 or more.

Restaurant in the building
It is a western style restaurant that uses local ingredients of Shinshu.
You can enjoy sandwiches for breakfast, meat dish, pasta or pizza for dinner accompanied with local wine or craft beer.

Hot spring:
Our guest can use Momoyama Buro and Shinonome Buro at the old Ryokan called Yorozuya in Yudanaka Onsen for 800yen per person, as well as the famous 9 Shibu hot springs bath for free.
Outside bath at Sansuikaku in Yudanaka hot spring with fee are also available.
