The space
La Kayé Laborie ("at home in Laborie") is a fully furnished, two bedroom house with an open plan full kitchen and living room, two bedrooms (10ft by 11ft each), a bathroom (the shower has on-demand hot water), and a back porch where the washing machine is located. Perhaps the best thing about the house is the large, shady front porch/balcony that overlooks the Caribbean Ocean and Rudy John Beach, The beautiful view is framed by lush tropical vegetation.
There is outdoor furniture, including a table and chairs, and a sun-lounger. Extra chairs and/or an extra lounger can be provided if needed.
With the front doors open, the porch and the living room connect into one breezy, shady area, only a short walk away from a dip in the ocean.
The property is located at the far end of Laborie village as you head towards Choiseul and Soufriere, opposite the Papel Craft Center. It is directly at the top of a rather steep driveway (there are steps for walking). There is a dedicated parking spot for you at the top of the driveway, or you can choose to park in the Papel Craft Center parking lot and walk up.
The house itself is located next door to owner Don's home. On the far side of the property is another, smaller Airbnb (Ti Kay Aleze). There is the possibility to book both rentals if you have a larger party.
There is a fence around the entire property.
Your bedroom windows are located, with your privacy in mind, on the far side of La Kayé Laborie, overlooking green space. In the back bedroom, the second window looks out onto your private back yard area, where there is a washing line and vegetation (still a work in progress).
BEDROOM 1 has a full-size double bed, one large curtained window, and a mini-split AC. There is NO EXTRA CHARGE FOR USING AC, but we ask that you use it judiciously. You can decide once you arrive if you will need it. If you decide you don't want to use it at all, we can give you a discount, to be discussed once you arrive.
BEDROOM 2: The back bedroom has no AC, but there is a standing fan for your use, and the room gets a great breeze with the windows open. It has a queen size bed, and two large windows with screens and security bars.
Sheets and towels are provided. There will be extra towels that you can use at the beach.
LAUNDRY: You will have free access to a washing machine and your own laundry line.
The BACK DOOR has a security gate, allowing you to leave it open for great ventilation. All windows have mosquito screens and security bars with locks. The bedroom doors (as well as the exterior doors of course) have locks. Having said that, Laborie is a very safe location, and we have provided bars mostly for your piece of mind, so you can relax and not worry about it if you leave a window open when you go out.
LIVING ROOM: The living room has a sofa, a table, a fan, and a Smart TV (for streaming channels or from your device only, no Cable).
We provide a 250w Bestek voltage converter in the living room. It cannot be used for hair dryers or high wattage appliances, but works well for small items and as a plug converter for your chargers.
KITCHEN: The kitchen area has a counter with 2 stools, a stove, a fridge, a toaster, coffee maker, microwave and electric kettle. Plenty of pots and pans, implements, cutlery, cups, glasses, plates and storage containers are provided. We provide (at least) cooking oil, spices, salt, pepper, and cleaning supplies.
STARTER SUPPLIES: emergency snacks in case of late arrival, bottled drinking water, coffee, tea, sugar, evaporated milk, new kitchen sponge, 4-8 rolls of toilet paper. We provide a starter supply of guest consumables only, anything additional will need to be purchased.

You will be able to use the house, the front porch, and a small back garden area, mostly useful for hanging laundry to dry.
There is a large deck on the property, on the other side of Don's home, that can be used by all guests. Some people use it for yoga, or you can sunbathe there if the porch at your house is too shady.
Other things to note
We give a large discount for long-term stays. If you want to book for longer than 6 weeks and the dates are available, please book the six weeks and contact us to get an additional discount for subsequent dates.
For visitors from the US, Canada, UK and many other countries, the maximum length of time you can stay without getting an extension from the Immigration Office in Castries is 42 nights (6 weeks including day of arrival). The cost for a 30 day extension is EC$200. You can also extend by making a trip to a neighboring island, even for just a day. The St. Lucia Immigration Office website has further details.
Airport transfer is available for an extra charge of US$20/EC$53. Airport pickup includes a stop at the ATM in Vieux Fort if desired (there is currently no ATM in Laborie), and at the Masssy grocery store in La Tourney. You will need to communicate with Don a few days before arrival or departure, to make sure he is available. Please note that If you are arriving on a Sunday afternoon, or on a holiday, the grocery store will be closed.
If you arrive in the north, for example by ferry, you will need to arrange transportation to the south by bus or taxi. There are mini-buses from Castries to Vieux Fort, and from Vieux Fort to Laborie. A taxi costs at least EC$200.
There is no bus from the Hewanorra airport in Vieux Fort.
If you would like a breakfast basket for your first morning we can provide local bread, butter, jam, eggs, fruit and juice (or other items if you prefer, such as cereal and non-dairy milk). There will be an extra charge to pay upon arrival of EC$30/US$12 per person.

The Local Experience - Kalbas room is a part of a family home (with children). The space is located on the second floor with a seperate entrance. This cozy space is perfect for your stay and you automatically become part of this big family. We are located in Riviere Doree, Choiseul (south of the island) close to all of the enjoyable sightseeing locations on our small island. The space
Our main house offers four (4) air-conditioned guest rooms. The rooms share two baths and a small, but completely equipped kitchen. Every room is brightly and airily furnished in a European-Caribbean style, with air-condition and king size or queen size beds. You have the possibility of catering for yourself or enjoying our rich Caribbean breakfast (15.00 USD/pers) as well as our creole dinners (all on request - 15-25.00 USD/pers).
The shared living room downstairs is furnished with a dining area. sofa, TV and a small balcony. Everybody is welcome to use the fully equipped shared kitchen.
In addition to that we offer two fully furnished self-contained 1 bedroom Apartments, the "Creole House" and the "Rainbow-Apartment". They both are under another listing on here. Those two apartments, like the entire property, delightfully overlook Vieux Fort. With stunning views and a privat setting they are especially recommended, in particular for Honeymooners.

The rooms of our property have a separate entrance and are located adjacent to our main house. There is a little fully equipped kitchen and a small living area with little balcony included. We have 2 bathrooms in the guest section and sometimes (not always!) guests have to share the bathroom with another room (maximum 2 persons), which is usually no problem.
But guests are also welcome to use our big main house terrace overlooking the sea with an amazing view and stunning sun sets! They can as well use the loungers in the garden.
During your stay
As a former tour representative I am very knowledgeable about what to do on the island. Also I live in St.Lucia since 42 years and I am well aquainted with people and can recommend places to go or things to do.
Other things to note
We offer peace and seclusion beautiful views and sunsets from the sun terrace of our main house of "Villa Caribbean Dream" and beaches just around the corner. Since St. Lucia's best wind- and kitesurfing spot is only a 7 min. drive away, we are frequented in particular by kite- and windsurfers. But we also like to welcome nature travelers and people who would like to get to know the local life on this beautiful tropical island.

The Residence Du Cap features a self-contained, two-level guest house with one bedroom. The main level features an open-concept layout with a living room, kitchen, workspace, and Starlink satellite for high-speed internet. Please note that the host lives in the main house with his family and two small dogs when they are present. During your stay, the pool and driveway will be shared with other guests who may also be staying in the main house. Residence Du Cap is conveniently located just five minutes from the renowned Pigeon Point Beach and less than ten minutes from Rodney Bay. Plus, some of the world’s most famous golf courses are just a short five-minute drive away.

Part of a 52-acre former coconut and cocoa estate, the main guesthouse, the Cocoa House was originally a cocoa house used for fermenting and drying cocoa beans hand-picked on the estate. In 1995, the building was converted and refurbished into a 6-room guesthouse now housing 3 Superior Deluxe and 3 Superior Garden rooms.
Although the rich aroma of cocoa beans no longer wafts through the air, at La Haut you can enjoy the perfume-scented, tropical fauna or the salty breeze that blows off the Caribbean Sea.
