The space
The cottage is totally private and has it's own driveway. It is self-catering. Towels will be replaced every 3 days and bed linen every 5 days. The two bedrooms have en-suite showers and both have double doors leading onto the sun deck, which also has braai/barbecue facilities. There is a double bed and two single beds . All bed linen supplied. Although we have a no smoking policy inside the cottage smoking is allowed on the sun deck and in your own private garden. The kitchen is equipped with basic essentials plus a coffee machine, microwave, fridge, and a double ring gas burner (no oven). The lounge is equiped with a 32inch flat screen TV(Sabc 1,2,3 & Etv only) and a DVD player.( a selection of DVDs are available at no charge) The fireplace is non-functional but there is a three bar electric fire for heating if needed.There is shaded off street parking for two cars. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate pets.

Super glamping cabin, you'll feel like you're staying in your very own treehouse! The cabin is very cozy and equipped with everything you will need including a hotel bed with percale bedding, bath towels, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee plunger, crockery & cutlery, pots & pans and it also has a heater and a fan for the different seasons.

Besides waking up to the most amazing views every day, you'll also have your own deck with gas cooking facilities and you will be able to braai! We have just recently covered the braai area so you can braai or light a fire no matter what the weather is doing :)

You will have your own bathroom with hot shower and toilet, no sharing with others!

You'll also have your own private wood-fired hot tub :) this area has weather blinds so you will always be able to enjoy the hot tub no matter what the weather is doing!

This unit is for those that are adventurous, don’t mind climbing stairs and are wanting to experience something different.

This unit is perfect for couples or singles :) please note it’s not suitable for families with babies or children. It can only sleep 2 adults maximum.

Glamping Cabin 3 is a free standing unit and has its own entrance and a parking space. You'll be in your very own treehouse and have everything you would need for a lovely getaway:)

There are some stairs to get up to the glamping cabins so you can enjoy all the amazing views - it is a glamping treehouse experience. We have staff who carry your bags for you if you arrive within check in times. If you aren’t young at heart or have any mobility issues then this experience is not for you!

The space
Tucked away between the Knysna milkwood trees, surrounded by beautiful nature and wildlife. Enjoy direct access to the Knysna Salt River, long swims in the pool, cozy nights by the indoor fireplace, and relaxing baths in the Victorian bathtub overlooking the Knysna forest. Guests love easy forest walks around the neighborhood and especially recommend the Friday night Knysna Food Market (7 minutes walk away).

Before entering the Riverglades estate please contact our caretaker Dwayne, who will open the gate upon your arrival and will show you around the house.

Other things to note
Directions: From the N2 highway you turn into Welbedacht road, pass the Knysna hollow and then Right into Meterlekamp road. When the road forks you stay right which will lead you up a steep hill and into the Riverglades estate. It's a circular drive in the estate so keep right and follow the road to number 14. It's quite hidden under trees but you will recognize it on the wooden parking deck.
Please note there is a full time caretaker by the name of Dwayne that will gladly assist. He takes care of the properties from 8 am to 5 pm.

Forest Glades is a hidden gem in the picturesque countryside, conveniently located 20 minutes from Knysna.

The off-grid cottage is the perfect hideaway to relax and unwind. It caters for couples wanting a romantic getaway, nature lovers, and families wanting a soul cleansing, unique escape into nature. 

We are only 25 minutes from beautiful beaches, day hikes and picnic spots in the National forest.

The space
The cottage is privately positioned, comfortable and spacious. There is a well equipped kitchen, a lounge with a smart TV, two comfortable bedrooms and a bathroom with a lovely walk-in shower. 

There is a private elevated deck with a braai facility and very comfortable outdoor furniture. 

The deck overlooks the glade and forest, here you can relax and unwind to the sound of birdsong.

We are completely off-grid and rely on the rain for water, and the sun for electricity. This means that there will be no loadshedding during your stay.

There is a lovely forest walking trail that guests can explore.

We are situated in a conservancy and are privileged to have free roaming wildlife. There is a large variety of birdlife including the Knysna Lourie and fish eagles. It's a bird watchers paradise so don't forget your binoculars.

The space
Tranquil, Beautiful, Peaceful, Amazing. These are just some of the descriptions given from previous guests. This rustic wooden cabin is located right on the Knysna Lagoon which is perfect for Fishing and Water Sports. The cottage is remote and secluded and about a 25 minutes drive to town.

This is the perfect location for someone who loves the outdoors and who wants to get away from there busy lives for some peace and quiet. There is a large deck area overlooking the lagoon which is perfect for relaxing and having a braai.

There is also a private jetty where you can moor a boat or use to fish.
For birdwatchers there are the most amazing birds to watch whilst sitting on the deck

Other things to note
**The road down to the house is gravel/jeep track. A high car is recommended. I have a Golf 5 which makes it down the road fine, however if fully loaded the bottom does scrape sometimes so take the road slowly and be aware.

**There is 7 CCTV camera's which monitors and records only the exterior of the property.

**Every effort is taken to ensure the house is clean and tidy, however the property is located in a forest so please understand it can never be spotless :)
