Near 7/11, McDonalds, Starbucks avenue of the stars where you can witness the symphony of the lights. The girl in the reception area was not that friendly though. Overall, I was satisfied with our stay."

Also be aware there is a charge for staying past your check out time equivalent to another nights stay. On my first night they had NOT turned on the hot water heater switch and oddly enough the 2 telephone number on the receipt contacted an a Chinese hotel and the 2nd number correctly contacted the Indian receptionist. Wifi was good and condition was acceptable and clean."

- "This is a gem of a hostel in HK. Simon, the owner/operator is incredibly helpful, going as far as washing my laundry every day(!). The room had aircon, shower/toilet ensuite thing, fridge, wifi and wired internet. The mansions themselves are run down and dirty but Simon runs a tight ship and the room was very comfortable albeit very small. The lifts take forever so I used the stairwell - they're a little tricky to find the first time but no problem after that. If you're looking for a nice place to stay with a little touch of adventure and a lot of Hong Kong flavour this place is a no-brainer."

On the ground floor of the building, there are lots of Indian restaurants (check prices first before you sit down!), Filipino stores, money changers and other small kiosks for other helpful items. If you are really trying to stretch your money and don't mind the discomfort of small, a-bit-smelly rooms, then this will be just fine. Enjoy HK!"

- "Incredibly humid place so it means the rooms stink because ventilation is really bad, very noisy, showers were horrible (almost dribbling and 0 pressure), not social for a solo traveller, half the people were over the age of 60" - "One of the ‘long-residents’ of the place came home drunk at 4am, smashed the windows open very inconsiderately and when I asked him ‘why did you do that?’ He said it was because someone turned off his personal light. He accused me and then threatened to mess with my stuff when I was gone for the day. I felt threatened and unsafe. Everyone else woke up in the dorm and told him to be quiet. Multiple people came to find me the next day to ask if I’m alright. I told reception of this incident and asked to change rooms. I was told I would have to pay extra. When I said no, I shouldn’t have to pay extra as it is a matter of principle they told me if I had further complaints to call the police. I was also told maybe I can’t be trusted. Just very bad experience. Also the place is untidy, humid, in a very rundown building. Showers are despicable. Not social at all. Many old people in dorms (I’m talking 65+). Would not stay here again. Just disgusting. "

After we got the room we headed out for dinner and when we got back there was cockroaches in the 5 square meeter room, which was badly cleaned beforehand. With a hole in the ceiling all kinds of animals could live up in that roof.. This was especially strange, due to the extra service fee you have to pay for each night at this place. We ended up leaving and had to book another hotel down the street - ended up with a 4 star hotel for cheaper than this hostel. (we payed to much due to early booking, and there was not a refund we could get). "

- "Friendly and helpful staff, clean place, convenient location." - "We booked a double room but what we were provided unfortunately wasn’t a full size double bed. The size of the room was very small and there were signs up apologising for this but I can live with a small room. There was no window in the room which made it feel even more claustrophobic. We both found it difficult to sleep in the small bed and I had to use the towels provided to cover part of me up when I slept, otherwise I would get cold as the single size bed cover wasn’t big enough for both of us. Room was cleaned daily and the staff were friendly, which was the good part. We weren’t offered any welcome drink as specified in the confirmation email either, although not sure where we would have found space to drink it. Overall fairly disappointed that the room was not as described."
