- "My husband and I and 2 teenagers loved our stay at La Colombaia. We spent 8 nights in this beautiful countryside hotel villa decorated in typical Italian style. Our rooms were spotless, as well as the rest of the hotel, the many flower gardens, the olive grove and many fruit trees on this property. We loved lounging by the swimming pool and admiring the breathtaking beauty of the Cilento and view of the Amalfi Coast. Butterflies and swallows would dive bomb in the pool at nightfall with the most gorgeous sunset in the background. We had supper by the poolside terrace a few nights, and the meals were memorable- every second night they serve seafood prepared from fish fresh from Agropoli; if you love seafood, this will be your best meal in Italy. Pasta and chicken dishes and antipasti were also delicious. The owner, Signor Botti was available on site every day to cater to our needs - arranging transportation from the train station, reserving taxis, helping with a rental car, suggesting itineraries to Paestum, Castellabate, Palinuro, and the best beaches and sites in Agropoli. He was a very attentive host and we loved his warmth and exuberant personality. The staff, especially Andrea, was very helpful and welcoming. We loved the variety this hotel attracts - Italian families, European couples of all ages, and also North Americans who mix and socialize around the pool and at supper and breakfast.
