Nice and friendly staff" - "The night before Christmas Eve, as most of those who celebrate the holidays found we too, had a packed filled day and weren't sure how to do it all. My husband worked 3rd shift, we had to travel, and he still had to sleep before 11:00am. for brunch and Christmas celebrations is family. I couldn't see any way possible to fit everything in. I explained and they had solutions. The staff was exceptional, everyone worked hard, smiling *NOT on their phones. Very attentive to guests and going out of their way to take care of each guest as they were able. Very Impressed with almost everything about this place. This is the first time we've been that the hot tub was luke warm. I got in anyway due to having back surgery recently (didn't submerge the area) and would have loved a nice hot tub experience on the leg that was affected by the ruptured disk surgery. The lack of hot water almost got to me, but our Christmas was spent in a nice hotel with our now grown young people and we couldn't have asked for more. The other thing I noticed was during the meals, things did get messy on the counters and around the area floors. Staff was quickly there to make up for the mess. This group of people are exceptional in my opinion. Oh yea, did I mention it was Christmas? They worked with smiles, helpful information, and a cheery disposition throughout the stay. Thank you staff, not only for working, but having a wonderful attitude. You helped make our Christmas brighter. "

The A. C. Thomas House is a magnificent mansion located in the heart of charming New Harmony, Indiana. There are two parlors & two dining rooms on the first floor, 5 Victorian rooms on the 2nd floor & the modern Loft & Gallery Suites.

The space
The house has four stories covering 6500 square feet with a dramatic and spacious portico, and three spacious stories with unique accommodations for up to 18 persons. There are five Victorian bedrooms on the second floor. The largest is the Taft Room named for the president who was a guest of A,C. Thomas and stayed in this room. The second floor rooms are named for modern British Royals: Princess Diana; Prince William; Duchess Kate, and Prince Charles. The spectacular Loft Suite with it's dramatic high ceiling is on the on the 3rd floor. The Gallery Suite, an apartment with a separate entrance occupied the lower level. An elevator provides luggage service to all floors and provides access to the property from the street level.

Guests who rent the entire house have access to all guest rooms, common areas, the kitchen, laundry room and garden. There is one off- the-street parking space available and ample, safe parking on the street.

Local occupancy taxes and breakfast is included in the tariff. Lunch can be arranged for an additional fee. The kitchen provides a full compliment of cookware, flatware, utensils, platters and other serving items. We provide and abundant spice rack, olive oil and soy sauce for your convenience.
