- "A brand new hotel with great potentials but for now service needs to be improved. They seem to be having problems of communications. (i) I asked missing chairs in the room for my husband’s work right after check in (yes, table was there), it didn’t arrive until we came back from dinner. He ended up seating uncomfortably on the bed with labtop and note pads to finish the work. (ii) pool booking for our big family was about multiple phone calls. (iii) breakfast was charged twice. I fixed it with breakfast desk (they were very nice) but regardless when checking out, it was still charged twice. Another downside is that the overly crowded pool has 4 time slots to use per day with mandatory break of every 50 minutes- a reason why I don’t stay at Grand Hyatt Seou anymore. Locals seem to be okay with this concept but if you are not local, be informed. Now the upside is that the breakfast was excellent and the chefs at each station were very nice and friendly. Though when it comes to service again, we had to ask a few times for the server to clean up the used dishes. And there is no water service so you need to get your own and kids’ water. "

I like this hotel because it is just across from an undeveloped, unspoilt, and very quiet stretch of beach - the nicest I have seen in Gangneung and probably the nicest I have personally experienced in South Korea. As a result, I spent a fair amount of time on the beach. Unfortunately, a huge development is being built next door to the hotel. I hope it doesn't ruin this area of beach, but I am doubtful. Breakfast was a do-shi-rack/bento box to be eaten in the room. This was surprising, but it was tasty nonetheless. The room was not the cleanest though. Dusty in parts and even a bit of dried seaweed on the bedside table. However, I really enjoyed my stay overall. I was sad to leave the suite due to the view and the amount of natural light. I hope to go back soon. Note - they are very strict with check in time - no check in before 3pm. This is a quiet area. I have seen some Koreans complain about this, but it is the reason I like it. Also, as a solo foreigner there were not really any dining options that appealed to me. Seafood is king here. However, there is a decent convenience store a few minutes walk away. I had a cup ramen sitting outside. Good times"

- "Good" - "Friendly staff and service. I asked about a good place to eat qnd the owner walked me to a couple of restaurants to make sure I didn't get lost. I watched the sun rise over the sea from the comfort of my bed." - "There was a nice commons area on the ground floor that would be really family friendly during non-pandemic times." - "good" - "The check in was super fast and easy. But that was really the only plus of our stay. Because it was a weekend (Saturday-Sunday) our double room was double price. It was 100$ after taxes. To start it was smaller than the pictures made it appear. The balcony let in good natural light but it’s not a place to sit. It’s just for the air conditioner unit I think. The bed was really hard. I could feel the springs and had a difficult time sleeping. There were lights from the light control panel that I had to cover to sleep they’re so bright. The floor heating was on to 30C which left us really warm. I had to open the door to the balcony to cool down. There was also hair not belonging to myself or my partner in the room and on the bed. The bathroom had a cheap scratched toilet seat, soap residue on the toilet, and green staining on the walls. There was a big tube of toothpaste for all to use and a bar of soap to wash your hands. Considering it’s corona season I’m not sure why this was considered good. I bought toothpaste to use during our stay. The night and morning were also very noisy. The walls are very thin. A light above the bed blew in the morning and the fridge had something growing in then back of it. The final thing is the smoke smell down the halls that happened in the night. The rooms are supposed to be non smoking. Overall this was an overpriced, uncomfortable stay. One of my worst. But the staff is kind, so there’s that. "

We stayed in a suite and the upstairs sleeping area can get hot if you do not manage the heat earlier and the beds we not super comfortable but they were actual beds! - "The motel is probably as you expect it to be. The bathroom was clean, but everything else has stains on it, from towels to bedsheets and pillows.
