It was super comfortable with an amazing view of the lake. There are lots of restaurants in Locarno but we decided to include breakfast and evening meal at the time of booking. Breakfast is buffet style and offers a super range of excellent quality foods. Supper was waiter service; sometimes it's à la carte, other times an abridged menu. But regardless every dish was excellent! You will not be disappointed. The head waiter is marvellous and made each evening an enjoyable experience, he was pleased to explain the dishes to us and I noticed him doing so in several languages. His team are professional and friendly; they simply make you feel welcome, comfortable and relaxed. The garden setting for the restaurant is lovely with the lake visible through the trees and shrubs. The hotel is spacious and kept immaculately clean. There is a pool, small but perfect for a cooling dip. We didn't use the gym. It was far too warm to use the roof terrace, the view up there is fabulous. We flew in via Milan, transferred by bus to the central station and caught the train direct to Locarno. An Italian woman on our flight said Locarno is the most beautiful part of Majjiore. I can't compare but I think she may be right! If you go, we can definitely recommend the Arcadia Hotel. Isola Brissago is a must see."

- "charming hotel, front desk guy was SO helpful & nice. it is hard to find - i stopped at a pharmacy to ask for location, they didn't know & it was about 3 minute walking beyond. to find it, you can walk from the train station (10-15 min) towards the main plaza, keep going almost to the end. on the right tucked in the back, after the shops, is the entrance. only complaint is no tv channels in english. which normally isn't important, except that everything in the town except restaurants closes by 6pm so relaxing in the evening with tv is not going to happen. otherwise, loved it!"
