It was super comfortable with an amazing view of the lake. There are lots of restaurants in Locarno but we decided to include breakfast and evening meal at the time of booking. Breakfast is buffet style and offers a super range of excellent quality foods. Supper was waiter service; sometimes it's à la carte, other times an abridged menu. But regardless every dish was excellent! You will not be disappointed. The head waiter is marvellous and made each evening an enjoyable experience, he was pleased to explain the dishes to us and I noticed him doing so in several languages. His team are professional and friendly; they simply make you feel welcome, comfortable and relaxed. The garden setting for the restaurant is lovely with the lake visible through the trees and shrubs. The hotel is spacious and kept immaculately clean. There is a pool, small but perfect for a cooling dip. We didn't use the gym. It was far too warm to use the roof terrace, the view up there is fabulous. We flew in via Milan, transferred by bus to the central station and caught the train direct to Locarno. An Italian woman on our flight said Locarno is the most beautiful part of Majjiore. I can't compare but I think she may be right! If you go, we can definitely recommend the Arcadia Hotel. Isola Brissago is a must see."

There were 2 apples and a muffin and some cookies on the little table in your room. They supply robes/slippers, shampoo and conditioner, dryer for you. Not many places in Switzerland give you toiletries in the room (we stayed at many places too). The pool is heated and very clean. This place was the best. Walkable to the water and little town (old town), Restaurants. Staff was very accommodating. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The staff works very hard. They also give you a pass coupon that allows you free transportation/buses/trains in that area. Most places do; you just have to ask for it. Places close early. A good 20 minutes walk to the town along the water."
