- "For work purposes we stay in a lot of hotels across the UK and have noticed a steep decline in standards especially since the pandemic. How refreshing then to find a hotel the exact opposite: friendly, efficient, proactive, motivated staff who go out of their way to help - the receptionist saw we were wandering about looking for our room and came over to take us to our room. We didn't have dinner, but the cooked breakfast was delicious and made with the best ingredients. The final crowning glory was that this was a 24hr hotel with a night porter who could serve drinks - very welcoming as we work in the entertainment business and rarely get back to our hotel before 11pm. The idea of a night porter has virtually disappeared from the industry so how delightful to find a hotel that still has one. With the increased use of PFIs, only concerned with profits, buying up hotels and hotel groups being the main reason for the hotel business loosing its soul - I hope this hotel manages to stay as it is. Note to hotel: you should run a course on how to manage a hotel. "
