We had incredible breakfasts and really excellent dinners. One night we had dinner at the Grotto restaurant at the sister hotel in the city. The shuttle was free since we were staying at the sister property. The restaurant view and food at the Grotto in the city was expensive but well worth the visit. The food, atmosphere and service were impeccable. At the hotel, the service was perfect. Great beach, views and service. Free water was provided which is nice when you are at the beach and hotel in Europe. The sunrise and beach view were amazing. We extended another night. The morning we left, the staff put together a wonderful breakfast for us to eat on the train to Naples. We will remember the service, views, accommodation and atmosphere until the next time we come!"

Staff speaking limited English is very typical in Italy and happens here as well. Breakfast is extremely limited, and service at the restaurant is rather average with high prices for lunch and dinner. In order to get good service at the restaurant, one has to demand it. That was not very pleasant. The hotel is located in San Vito, which is a bit far from Polignano center for those who want to walk. It is an advantage having a car, otherwise tuk tuk (taxi) prices are between 10-15 euro one way depending on the destination in Polignano. San Vito as an area does not have many activities to offer. There are three restaurants available within walking distance (appr 15 min) from hotel. We did not manage to find a free beach that we would really like, so swimming pool at the hotel has become a good substitute. All in all, this hotel with a reception open 24/7 is a much better and safer choice than many private apartments offered for rent in the area."

- "This was the final 3 days of our 2 week southern Italy vacation. We wanted a place to use as home base to visit the towns within an easy hour drive. The problem occurred when we arrived and didn’t want to leave the property. It is hard to describe but equivalent to Castello Banfi in terms of service and attention to detail. The place is immaculate and breathtaking. The service is second to none and the views are out of this world. I wish I could describe it better but you have to see to believe. This was part of a trip where we had 5 star hotels in Capri, Amalfi and Lecce. All were incredible but this may have been my favourite. Spend 5 day please.
