- "This is a beautiful hotel with gracious and helpful hotel staff. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were beautifully decorated. The location was convenient to the city center. The complimentary large bottle of water in the room every day was appreciated as was the chocolate on the pillow at turn down in the evening. The whole hotel was spotless clean and the staff were warm and friendly. There is valet parking for €25 per day and whilst not cheap, it does make life easier and your car is safe in the underground car park. The only area where I think that there is room for improvement is the breakfast offerings. The fruit salad was tinned, it would have been nice to be freshly made. On one morning there was a tiny pot of raspberries put out with around 10 raspberries in and some of them were mouldy. These were replaced when I had pointed out that they were mouldy but with still only a small number of raspberries, not enough for the number of guests dining. Fresh blueberries again were in a tiny pot. There isn’t anyone cooking a hot breakfast to order eg. an omelette. For €28 per person for breakfast, I thought that the breakfast offered wasn’t worth the money. Next time if I stayed, I would go out for breakfast. I would however stay here again and the city of Troyes really is a hidden gem. We stayed for 3 nights and there was plenty to do and see. It is stunning. "

- "Convenient location, except for the temporary road construction. " - "We often use this hotel as a great and quite cheap stop off point halfway down France between Calais and the Alps. Very friendly service and comfortable rooms and bathrooms. Rooms have been renovated reasonably recently - if you get a superior one you will overlook the square at the front and the standard have no view out the back - but for an overnight visit we dont worry. Free overnight parking opposite or just round corner. Right beside the old town, we dont bother with breakfast at the hotel, but stroll into the gorgeous medieval streets where there are some great cafés serving petit dejeuner for 3 or 4 euros. The road outside the hotel was being remade whilst we were there. It probably wont take long to finish and we were not disturbed. Local restaurants are great for an evening meal in the old town which looks like the setting for Diagon Ave in Harry Potter - just be warned that the local delicacy served in restaurants- Andouilette is a local sausage containing tripe and brains - in big lumps!!!! There are plenty of other, and in my opinion, more edible, alternatives."
