The space
This lovely place has been newly renovated with your ultimate comfort in mind. It provides every modern luxury for your stay. Nestled in the most desirable neighborhood of the city, this cozy one bedroom and spacious living room provides ample room and privacy for small groups. Stroll over to the Botanical Garden, Witte Museum, Central Market or Pearl Brewery District for a taste of the beauty, wildlife and cultural roots of San Antonio. Afterwards, return home to this idyllic space for a glass of wine or cool beer on the porch gazing into Mahncke Park.

The entire house has a water softener. Relax in the deep soaking bathtub with shower. Memory foam queen sized bed, with 100% cotton sheets, and down duvet for warmth during the winter. The AC is set on an energy efficient schedule, please do not ask me to lower the thermostat. It is set to 75 degrees during days that it is over 100 degrees outside to abide by Texas energy grid recommendations! In the summer evenings and night it does go cooler. But please understand, this is an old house. The house does have another unit, but your living space is private and unshared.

A comfortable well lit work station. A small library with various books to browse. A full size bathroom, with a deep soaking tub for relaxation after a day of touring our beautiful city. We provide hand soap and dish washing liquid, toilet paper, towels, bedsheets and pillows, clothes iron, hair dryer, drip coffee maker, microwave. The kitchen was well stocked with plates and equipment, TV was easy to use, it was a very quiet location and the beds were comfortable. We had great communication with our host. Our San Antonio Getaway home is a 1920s Craftsman bungalow. It is full of history and charm to make your next San Antonio adventure special. Our home is a comfortable 1,500 sq ft home on a quiet street that can accommodate up to five people. Perfect for families! You will be only a 5-minute drive, bike ride, or scooter ride to the RiverWalk, Pearl District, and The Doseum, our world-class children's museum. Pet Policy

Just in case you missed it in the listing, I have a few pet rules to keep the space in an enjoyable state for future guests. Please read ahead of time to prevent incurring fees.

1.) Pets must be 2+ years of age, max of 2.

2.) Crating is required when you leave the unit or at nighttime.

3.) Dogs that bark cannot be left alone in the unit. If they are barking and disturbing neighbors, I will ask you to board your pups.

4.) Please always clean up after your pets, even outside. Poo must be immediately bagged and disposed of in the black trash can. A $300 waste removal fee will be charged if the cleaner must spend extra time picking up puppy poo in the yard.

5.) Please keep pets off furniture.

6.) Pets must be on a leash or carried when outside. The property is not fenced so off leash is not allowed.

VERY IMPORTANT: We may require an additional pet fee.

The standard fee is: $100 flat fee for up to 2 dogs.
A refundable $250 Pet Damage Deposit is required and will be refunded when no damage is found after check-out.

PLEASE NOTE: Any property damage or pet accidents result in forfeiture of all/partial damage deposit and potential further action. The owner and management company reserve the right to verify pet count, age, and animal presence in person at the unit during daytime hours, if needed.

The space
The house has a day bed with trundle, for sleeping downstairs. The loft sleeping area is accessed by ladder (see photos). It is a perfect place for a couple, or two friends. You will have a gate that you can enter and exit with parking. We have 2 dachshunds who love visitors, and the back gate MUST be kept closed at all times.

Guest access
Sitting on the porch of the casita, over-looking the beautiful garden, is a wonderful way to begin the morning with your organic coffee and muffins. Watching and listening to the birds and wind chimes is relaxing, peaceful and the perfect way to wind down at the end of the day.

Other things to note
-Please take off your shoes and enjoy the feel of the wood floors beneath your feet. The casita loves keeping the outside dust on the porch, so everyone can breathe clean air!

- Thank you for stripping sheets and pillowcases and placing them on floor next to the door before departure. Please place used towels on top. Thank you!

-Please clean up after your pet and keep them leashed while in the shared yard space.
- Large windows are next to bed, if your registered pet destroys and blinds/furniture while in the unit, you will be charged for replacement.

If you are found to have a pet in unit that was not a registered guest you will be charged the pet fee.

This apartment is attached to a garage at the back of our property. It's a studio style where the kitchenette, living and sleeping areas are all open to one another. The bathroom is a separate room. There are also two enclosed closets. The property is heavily landscaped. Guests have called it an "oasis"

We live on a park with houses on only one side of the street. That means street parking is readily available.
There are walking and biking trails all around us.
Since we're close to downtown, taxi and Uber fares to tourist sights, museums and "night life" are affordable. There is also frequent bus service nearby.

Other things to note
We live on the premises and have an Airbnb room, so you may see other people come and go as you walk through the back yard to your apartment. Once you're there you have privacy.
Sometimes our cats and dogs are out in the yard. They're friendly.

Once you're in your private apartment with its own bathroom, sleeping and sitting areas, it's all yours. We don't come in unless you request it. You'll have a private entrance to come and go. It's up some stairs on the back of our house.
You're also welcome to sit in the back yard or use the barbecue there.

No smoking indoors! It's okay on the balcony, though.

No cooking in the room except what can be done in the microwave and toaster we provide. Do not bring a crockpot or any other cooker. We recently had damage from one and simply will not allow them.

I’m happy to have courteous conversations with my guests. I’m pretty low key and you’ll find me either working on my laptop or out hiking with my dog. Happy to socialize if you like. If not, no worries. You must be comfortable around dogs. My dog is pretty chill. She knows that she is not allowed in your room, but if you're out in common areas, she may greet you from time to time. If you so choose, she'll welcome you as her friend, she also knows to give you your space if preferred after the initial greeting which is a happy time for her.

Other things to note
You'll have your private room w/two twin size beds and hall bathroom only for you, unless the other room is also rented.. then I may share bathroom with you (I'm low maintenance and take hardly any time in the bathroom, btw.) Mattresses are organic top of the line, commonly used by top athletes. You (and your travel buddy) are guaranteed to have very comfortable nights' rests. Please note that there is another room at the opposite end of the long hallway where there may be another Airbnb guest. My dog and I stay in the room in between the two guest rooms. Great for digital nomads with personal desk in room.. high speed wifi!
