It is near the subway which is important if you plan to visit other parts of NYC. There are so many Harlem highlights close to the home including the Apollo theater. We walked to the world famous, Harlem Breakfast Club where we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. There are many eating establishments within walking distance of the home. Carmen, the host, was kind and extremely attentive. We had one incident with the shower, and Carmen had it immediatley fixed. In addition, she was very responsive to all my questions and happy to assist while we were preparing for our trip. If you want to have an authentic, yet comfortable and fun experience in NYC, I recommend this Harlem gem!"

Located on the second floor of a 1879 pre-war Upper East Side Townhouse, this cozy studio features 13 foot high ceilings, huge windows, 5-star quality linens and sheets, a fully stocked kitchen.

The space features a queen sized bed with a custom made, green upholstered headboard. The sofa becomes a twin sized bed which can sleep a grown adult or two small children.

The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need for your stay. This includes salt/pepper/and coffee. The bathroom has a walk-in shower with great water pressure, (and more green walls to admire).

Are you traveling for work or working from home? We equipped the space with a premium West Elm desk for your WFH needs.

During the summer months, from May 15th to November 30th, air conditioning is available in the unit. This will ensure a comfortable and cool environment during your stay.

EARLY CHECK-IN / LATE CHECK-OUT
Early check-ins and late check-outs are sometimes able to be accommodated with an easy purchase on your Happy Guest reservation page. If you have a need to check-in early or check-out late, you can also consider adjusting your reservation dates to be one day earlier or later so you have the place for as long as you need it.

NO REFUNDS
This Rental Agreement is a legally binding agreement between you, the Guest and the Owner or Manager of the property. Your reservation binds you to a specific period of time. IDENTITY VERIFICATION

The Parlor is a fully furnished one bedroom apartment. It is on the 1st floor of a landmarked private brownstone townhouse in the Mount Morris Historic District in the most coveted area of Harlem.

This apartment features 12' ceilings, modern furnishings and professionally designed accents. All lights are on dimmer switches to provide an intimate setting. There is a video buzzer/intercom system for guest entry.

The living room has a 46'' LED smart flat screen television with the local station provided and as well as a remote control radio/iPod player with a playlist of blues and jazz. Wireless Internet access is also provided. The huge mirrored wood decorative fireplace creates a dramatic focal point. The leather sofa folds out to become a super comfortable memory foam queen-size bed, the highest quality available. Original built-in shutters fold out for privacy as well as light control. The washer and dryer are next to the bathroom. Detergent is provided. The cabinet next to it holds bedding, extra towels, an iron as well as plenty of storage space.

The all white subway tiled bathroom has a vintage claw-foot bathtub with shower option, as well as hamper, hair dryer, timer exhaust fan. A vintage towel rack and vintage art deco mirror add charm. The ceiling light is dimmable.

The bedroom is accessible though beautiful sliding pocket doors with intricate original woodwork above. The art deco wood wardrobe has ample size as well as drawers and trouser hangers. We ate in a lot, cooked pasta, eggs, you name it. But we also did a lot of take out. The food in Jackson Heights is amazing! On every corner there was a new place I wanted to try. George's place is in walking distance to everything, including the subway. We felt very safe our entire time there. And La Guardia is just a few minutes away. The building is off Park Avenue, one block to the subway, crosstown and downtown buses, two blocks to Central Park. Neighborhood remains one of the most prestigious in not only NYC , but the entire United States. The Kennedys, the Rockefellers, the Whitneys, and the Carnegies lived here. Quiet, tree lined urban expanse filled with posh residents. But there is a lot more than old money on the Upper East Side.
The Museum Mile throngs with tourists, street artists, and lovers of the arts drawn to its abundance of high culture. Both bedrooms are tastefully furnished, each with a comfortable double-sized bed. The master bedroom features a queen-sized bed, while the second bedroom offers a full-sized bed. Each bedroom is equipped with a closet, heating/air conditioning unit to ensure your comfort, Computer Desk and windows that allow natural light to fill the space (heating/air conditioning unit availability may vary according to the season).

Our 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment is recently renovated and bright: Windows face south, east and north give us views of the East River, the Triboro bridge and a garden. Master bedroom has window seat and ensuite bathroom with shower/ tub. Second bedroom has queen sofa bed and en suite bathroom. There is a large fully equipped kitchen with new appliances (stove with oven, microwave, toaster broiler, coffee maker, refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher). The dining room can seat 2-6, and there is a comfortable living room with big screen cable TV (Smart TV's also in both bedrooms) . WiFi throughout. The building has an elevator and a doorman, and Laundry facilities.
Adjacent to 2 subway stops and crosstown bus. Ten minute walk to Central Park and Museum “Miracle Mile”, and pedestrian/bicycling path along East River. Grocery stores, pharmacies, cleaners, liquor stores close by.

Just a 5 minute walk from my house are the N and W subway lines which run from Astoria Queens to Manhattan, to Brookyn and vice-versa. I’m a person that likes fine things and enjoy life in a good way, and I have visited several countries. Personally I love to go to Manhattan for the shopping. anything that I want can be found there. My favorite places are the Diamond District where you can find the most beautiful fine jewelry with diamonds,sapphires, emeralds, rubies, etc, and of course everything in gold. Walking around 5th Avenue, Park Avenue, York Avenue, along 59th Street through 96th Street are the boutiques of many famous clothing designers. While you walk you can enjoy the life of a busy city with a lot of people and many places to see.
But if you want something more economical you can take the N or W lines to visit Noho, Soho, Little Italy, Chinatown, Herald Square, or Union Square. 14th Street, Times Square, Brookyn, etc.You can also make transfers to different lines to visit other places too.
After a long day of walking, shopping and enjoying everything the city has to offer, one of the best and most well known places for an exquisite dinner and a good wine is right here in ASTORIA. There are so many restaurants here with many different kinds of cuisine, you are going to be confused trying to pick out which one to try first, and the prices here are super economical
In my opinion 30 days is too short a time to visit the capital of the world “New York.“

It is an elevator building conveniently located at Ditmars Area in Astoria, Queens.
2 blocks walking to Ditmars subway station to N W trains 25min ride to Midtown Manhattan. Close to fun restaurants, cafes and 24hr stores such as CVS.

An inviting private/simple bedroom located in a beautiful tree lined street in Astoria. Safe and quiet but yet near many restaurants, bars, shops and transportation. Subway is a quick 15 minute ride to NYC. Great views of Manhattan skyline from Astoria park!!

The space
READ BEFORE BOOKING

1. This is a private room with a shared bathroom, there is no kitchen nor anything in it (no fridge, no silverware, etc) guests will only have access to the bedroom and the shared bathroom, there are no common areas.

2. Room doesn’t have A/C but a fan is provided, and windows are also operable to open them and have some breeze getting in the room.

3. Quiet hours go from 10pm to 5am I expect guests to be respectful of others sleep and keep it quiet during those hours (dead quiet)

4. If guests shower at night, they must do it before 10pm otherwise wait to the morning to shower.

5. Bedroom has no lock and this is not just in my place, NYC came out with new Airbnb regulations and one of the city’s rules is that rooms rented for short term periods (less than a month) can’t have locks. But my apt has security cameras and I never had issues with anything missing from my guests, but if guests are concern for the safety of their belongings, they can always buy a small lock and lock their bags.

6. Check in is after 7pm and I don’t do early check ins nor luggage drop offs. Check out is before 10am and guests can’t leave luggage at home after check out.

7. If guests lose the entrance key or don’t return it after check out, guests will be charged not for a copy but for a new door lock, which is not cheap, so don’t lose the key.

8. Check ins after 10pm are accepted but there’s an extra fee of $20 to be paid in cash at the time of checking in for the late check in.

9. For guests staying for more than one night, there are no time restrictions to come in or out of the apt but since my quiet hours go from 10pm to 5am I expect guests to be quiet if and when they come back home during the quiet hours.

10. One night reservations are accepted but keys are not provided for one night reservations (you must check in within check in hours and if you go out, you have to make it back to the apt before 10pm)

11. Visits are not allowed at home, if guests have family or friends in NY and they walk them home or pick them up from home, they have to stay outside, guests can’t bring anyone in the apt, not even to use the bathroom or to help them taking their luggage out. They stay outside.

12. Only one towel per guest for the duration of the stay will be provided, whether guests are staying for one night or for 1 month.

13. Shampoo, body wash and toilet paper is obviously provided but they are all pretty basic so guests are more than welcome to bring their own.

14. Even tho my phone number is provided, guests should try to communicate with me in the Airbnb platform only, so every message is recorded in case of problems.

The bedroom is very simple it has a full size bed, a chair, a desk, a lamp and a closet with hangers, a clean set of sheets, blanket and a towel per person are provided with the room, there's a radiator in the room to keep the room warm and cozy during the winter, I have no control over the amount of heat provided since I rent I don't own the place but if it gets too hot, the room has a fan to keep some equilibrium on the temperature, the window is also operable without any keys so guests can open it to let some air come in the room, i live in the same apt and so does a family member, so I’m always available to help with questions or issues that might arise.


Everything is cristal clear explained in this description, expect nothing more, nothing less, so I expect no more misunderstandings, if a guest didn’t read the description, is the guest’s fault, not mine. Nothing stated here is changing just because a guest didn’t read the description. If guests liked what they saw/read then guests can book the room, whoever didn’t like what they saw/read they can look for something else, I’m sure there are plenty of other places available. I live in the same apt, because of that, I’m picky and strict about who stays in my home, and I want only those who are ok with everything I have stated here, for everyone else, there are other places. Other things to note
The apt has 3 bedrooms, I live in the same apt and so does a family member so there’s always someone around to help with questions or issues guests might have. I expect guests to keep the apt clean by cleaning after themselves, if something was clean before they used it, i expect them to leave it the same way after they used it (bathroom).
Kitchen is no longer provided.
Keys are not provided for guests staying for one night only, for one night reservations the place is pretty much just to check in, sleep, take a shower the next day and check out.

2. STRICTLY ONE or TWO PERSONS ONLY IN THE ROOM. Only 2 adult person and 1 child below 7 years old are allowed. Children above 7 years old are considered persons. The Host will evict immediately guests that will violate this provision in the presence of the police.
3. CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT: Check in time is at 4PM and anytime after 4PM with no time limit. Check out time is STRICTLY 10AM.
4. HOW TO CHECK-IN: To check-in, you must click “TRIPS” in your Airbnb account on the day of check-in. Read the Check-in guide for the EXACT ADDRESS, DOOR CODES, and STRICT PARKING INSTRUCTION that will appear in your Airbnb “TRIPS.”
5. HOW TO CHECK-OUT: To check-out, close the door and leave. Do not clean your room. Anything left inside the room after check-out time will be placed in our storage up till 5pm same day, and after 5pm the host will dispose of them without compensating you.
6. NO CABLE CHANNELS ONLY INTERNET FOR STREAMING. You will use the internet access in the Smart TV in your room to do STREAMING using your own accounts in Netflix, Hulu, Disney Plus, Amazon TV, etc. There are no cable channels provided by the host.
7. EVICTION BY THE 911 POLICE: The host will bring the 911 police to evict you if you are still present in the house after 10AM. Guests will be evicted if they violate the safety, security, health standards, peace and order, and house rules.
8. UNLIMITED KEURIG COFFEE, DRINKING WATER & OTHER ESSENTIALS: Unlimited KEURIG coffee for guests is in the shared kitchen. Each Private Room has 2 bath towels & 2 face towels provided one time, iron & ironing board, hair blower, hangers, baseboard heaters, and AC in summer. Free body wash, shampoo and conditioner are in the shared bathroom. The drinking water is supplied by the kitchen faucet. Public water supply in the city where this house is located is safe to drink. If you need something not listed, you must buy them, and the host will not re-imburse you.
9. WHY YOUR DOOR KNOB HAS NO LOCK: New York Laws require your room to have no locks. You will leave the room close but unlocked when you leave. A Ring Video Camera is on top of your door to alert if any person enters your room. DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR IF SOMEONE KNOCKS ON YOUR DOOR. THE HOST OR HIS STAFF WILL NEVER KNOCK ON YOUR DOOR. THE HOST WILL ONLY MESSAGE YOU THRU AIRBNB OR TEXT YOU THRU YOUR PHONE. As a guest yourself, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO KNOCK THE DOOR OF OTHER GUESTS. Call the Host if someone knocks on your door because it’s a privacy violation tantamount to eviction penalty.
10. THE NEW YORK ROOM LAW: Based on New York Family House Dwelling Laws, the room cannot be left locked if you are not inside the room. Only hotels, motels, inns, and other licensed and commercial accommodation facilities are allowed to put locks on the door knobs. My house is a family dwelling house and strictly observes the New York Family House Dwelling Law. So the Door Knob has no lock when the guest leaves the room. However, the room can be locked with an internal chain lock and slide lock when you are inside the room. Above the room door is an expensive and interactive RING CAMERA which allows you to receive alerts in real time through your smart phone if someone comes near your door or enters your room while you are away and you can immediately talk to or warn the person. New York family dwelling houses can be penalized from $10,000 to $60,000 per room if the host put a lock on your door knob. If you are uncomfortable with this set-up, please do not book this room. If you book this room, you have to message the host your email address and follow the link sent to your email how to activate and have real time access to the Ring Camera above your room for your security and privacy during your stay.
11. SERIOUS WARNING: If you smoke cigarette, e-cigarette or weed, vape, or do drugs in your room, a detector SMOKE-NICOTINE-DRUG-VAPOR alarm will sound off and I will terminate your stay. You will be evicted by the police and penalized $1,000 thru your Airbnb account.
12. VERY IMPORTANT NEIGHBORHOOD SAFETY AWARENESS: The host believes that his neighborhood is safe. You are responsible to search online the safety data of my neighborhood.
13. SECURITY CAMERAS: They are installed in the hallway, kitchen, living room, front door, back door. There is no SECURITY CAMERA in your room, or in the bathroom. The SECURITY CAMERA is reviewed by the police if there is an incident.
14. ENERGY SAVING MOTION LIGHTS: They are installed in the living room, and hallway so you do not need to switch on or off.
15. TRESPASSING. Touching the mailbox or entering the house after check-out without host’s permission is trespassing violation under US Federal & State Trespassing laws with punishment of 2-year jail time and $2,000 fine. The host is very strict on this. The Security Camera is reviewed by the police as evidence.
16. HOUSE CONSIDERATIONS. The house is an ancestral house. Noise is easily transmitted through its thin walls. The floors, stairs, and doors create creaking noise.
17. PRIVATE ROOM: You book a Private Room in a standard American house, not a commercial building. The room is small, very minimalist, and functionally utilitarian in terms of limited room space. Each room has its own bathroom. This shares kitchen, and living room in the house.
18. NO PETS ALLOWED: The host has pet allergy. Pets are not allowed.
19. NO IN-HOUSE GUESTS PERMITTED. Entering other Private Rooms is not allowed. You are not allowed to let other persons from other Private Rooms in the house to enter your room. Transact your business outside your room.
20. RECEIVING MAILS AND PACKAGES: You are allowed to use the address to receive mails and packages. The host is not responsible for your lost mails and packages. After you check-out, your mails will be thrown in the garbage.
21. DROP-OFF: Free early drop-off of luggage before check-in is allowed in your room after 10AM. You cannot leave your things after you check-out.
22. COMPETITIVE PRICE: This Private Room is the most affordable and most complete Airbnb. You can compare the amenities and prices with other listings.
23. PICTURES ACCURACY: Pictures about the listing may change without notice due to continuous improvements of this property. The host tries his best to post accurate pictures based on the actual property. Contact the host if you see inconsistencies in the posting.
24. DISCOUNT RULES: Discount is fixed and non-negotiable described in the listing. Discounts may be discontinued without prior notice.
25. CANCELLATION & REFUND: Your booking is a NO CANCEL-NO REFUND POLICY except as provided in the Airbnb Extenuating Circumstances Policy.

27. REFUND AMOUNT: If you are eligible for refund, Airbnb automatically determines and returns the refund back to your payment method.
28. SHORT-TERM & LONG-TERM BOOKING: Call Airbnb if you want to book for more than a month. Airbnb allows monthly payments. Host will not make a deal with any guest outside Airbnb. You can only book and pay thru Airbnb.
29. CLEANING FEE & ROOM SERVICE: You only pay one time cleaning fee for your entire stay. The host provides 2 bath towels, and 2 face towels. If you book for long-term, bring your own towels to cover your long-term stay. Host does not provide daily room cleaning service.
30. LONG TERM STAY BEDDING CHANGE: Bedding change and room cleaning are provided for long-term stays for over 30 days. You must request bedding change and room cleaning every 15th day of your stay. If you fail to request on your schedule, your bedding change and room cleaning are forfeited. If you request beddings change outside schedule, you will be charged the current cleaning fee. You are not allowed to wash your beddings, and comforter in our washing machine.
31. KITCHEN, AND BATHROOM CLEANLINESS. Clean the bathroom after you use. If it is dirty, call the host. Clean the kitchen after use. Wash and dry the kitchen sink, kitchen countertop, pots, pans, plates, stove, oven, and other kitchen equipment after you use and put them back to their places. The host will penalize and evict you if you will not wash any kitchen equipment or utensils that you use. The video camera will have a record of anyone leaving their unwashed items.
32. MARK YOUR FOOD IN THE REFRIGERATOR. You share the refrigerator with other guests. You are required to put a sticker dot with your room number on every food you place in the refrigerator. The dot markings are provided. Food with no dots is thrown every day.
33. IF YOU STEAL FOOD OF OTHER GUESTS FROM THE REFRIGERATOR, YOU WILL BE EVICTED: The video camera records who puts in and who gets food out from the refrigerator. You will be EVICTED immediately if you wrongly get other food or steal other food in the refrigerator.
34. RODENTS, PESTS, & WILD ANIMALS. This Airbnb accommodation is a Private House. So, this house could be affected by rodents, pests, and other uninvited animals. This house is managed, maintained, and exterminated monthly by one of the largest and best pest exterminators in America. So, this house is free of rodents, pests, & wild animals. However, due to proximity to the body of water, Subway Train, restaurants, and commercial establishments in the city; mice, rats, other pests, and wild animals might be found outside, or inside the house in rare and isolated situations. Call the host immediately when this happens. You cannot cancel your booking if you see a rodent, pest, or any uninvited animal in the property. It is beyond the host if in isolated case this happens. The host can call his paid pest exterminator.
35. 5-STAR FEEDBACK: During your stay, call the host instantly to resolve any discomfort so the host will earn your 5-star feedback. If you give a 4-star or below, this Private Room will not appear for a week in any search. Share your experience to the host to improve your stay. In this way, you provide a better place to future guests and see the improvements when you come back.
36. QUIET TIME: All guests must observe quiet time as described in this listing. You can come in and out the house anytime; quietly and silently.
37. THE 2ND FLOOR. The 2nd Floor has 12-step staircase from main door.
