- "In all the ways communication, connection, cleanliness, charming, cheerful, + cool." - "My husband and I had a fantastic time staying in this fabulous apartment! It was fairly central to everything we wanted to visit, and was extremely Uber friendly. The patio area is to die for, and the bed slept like a dream. Overall, just a beautifully appointed apartment that provided the privacy we appreciate when traveling. And the owners went above and beyond when they contacted me about some items I had left. It would've been easy for them to have said nothing (we've had that happen), but they reached out to me and I really, really appreciate that. We highly reccommend this spot for your SanFran vacation!"

- "The property was very clean, 15-20 min from downtown SF, had a lot of amenities, and was in a fairly quiet neighborhood. The steep hills were hard to park on but there is plenty of parking on other streets. The back patio is shared with other people and includes the washing machine and a propane fire-pit. The inside of the property was very cozy and had plenty of space, although the furniture can be a bit stiff Our hosts were very friendly and had great communication during our stay. "

All the beds and sheets are clean and comfortable. We had some minor pluming issue but the owner came and took care of it right away. Walking distance to shops, nice restaurants, parks and the Bernal Height Summit which provides a 360 view of the city. Great place don't miss it!!" - "Three women, who have been friends for 44+ years, celebrating their big birthdays in the city. What an incredible time we had staying at this wonderful property! From the moment we opened that front door the "ohs and ahs" started! Everything exceeded our expectations. We spent the first 30 minutes just walking around the place admiring the awesome décor and special touches. We all said it makes us want to redecorate when we get home. The owner was so sweet to leave special treats in acknowledgment of our celebration. We loved the neighborhood and every morning would walk just a few yards to have the best lattes and pastries! The neighborhood is awesome! I would absolutely try to rent this property on my next visit to SF. A big thank you to our host for making everything perfect!"

Easy access to all parts of San Francisco, decent street parking if you have a car. The apartment looks out at a park and there are cafes, restaurants and a nice market a few doors down. We were 5 people in total, the 4 bedrooms gave us all space to not feel crowded, but there is only 1 bathroom, so that can be a bit difficult at times. You have all the basics you need in the kitchen to cook, some appliances can use some updating. Jerry the owner is very responsive and is around to help if there is a need."

- "My wife and I (and our 2 year old) stayed at Erica's place while our house was going through some construction. The house was well-stocked with plenty of sheets, towels, bathroom supplies, and kitchen essentials. We found the house to be very spacious and we loved eating together in the breakfast nook next to the kitchen. There's plenty of space to work during the day, and it was so cozy to hang out in the living room in the evening. The location fantastic, and there's a really nice playground just three blocks away for anyone with kids. Erica was super helpful and communicative throughout the process. Highly recommend her place for anyone looking for a long term stay!"

The 3 private bedrooms, made it perfect for us and the older kids while the bunk beds and trundle were great for the younger kids to hang out together. There were also options for couches to turn into daybeds if people wanted to sleep in other rooms. The kitchen had everything we needed for us to have breakfast and lunch daily before heading out. We also were able to enjoy coffee on the upper deck every morning All the amenities made this extremely convenient including coffee, snacks, bottled water, all bathrooms with toiletries, etc… We would recommend anyone to stay here!!! All guest linens and pillows, duvets etc. are thoroughly cleaned and separate from my own, all mattresses have covers too so you can rest assured that there will been cross over from my family, or previous guests to yours.
All my linens are either 100% European Linen or 100% Cotton.

- "Wonderful stay with all the needed amenities. Loved the house and neighborhood." - "Our family of two couples shared this home for a week and were thoroughly pleased with it. The owner had taken great care to leave it spotless and amazingly de-personalized such that we never felt we were intruding on private space (which one often feels in this sort of rental). We are all veterans of house rentals and we all agreed that this one was the best we've ever had. One final note: even on a typical foggy summer day in San Francisco, the house was indeed light filled. Both architect and decorator can be proud of this abode."

This designer home is a delightful blend of escape & access. It's in the beautiful San Francisco neighborhood of Bernal Heights which offers views of the Bay and easy access to all SF areas and destinations. The home offers true reprieve from a day of exploring our vibrant city.
The home was recently renovated and the design is sleek, minimalist, sophisticated and unique. There are a number of stand-out features including inside/outside living, a steam room, a patio, and a backyard fire-pit.
Bernal Heights is a beautiful San Francisco neighborhood that boasts interesting eateries and beautiful parks. See excellent views of the city from the top of Bernal Heights Park, a short walk away. Have a picnic in Precita Park. Or check out SF's hip Mission District nearby.
Things to note:
- The fire-pit and outdoor patio laundry are shared with the bottom unit
- There is 1 parking spot in the driveway. This is SF and we live on hills so the driveway is steep. There is also easy street parking and permits are not required
- Your host Liisa lives in the bottom unit part-time. It's also rented to guests part-time
- There is locked, covered, exterior storage if requested
- There is no AC but there is plenty of airflow in the home and it always cools down at night. AC is rare to have in SF and it's rarely needed
- If you have a stay over 2-weeks can you water the plants?
- "Our experience at 75 Montcalm was incredible! The space was vast with modern design details providing a cool comfortable living space during our roughly two month stay. The place is fully equipped with all standard needs of a home and more. The sleek electrical stove and oven were easy to learn (with some trial and error being used to old school norms,) along with plenty of dishes, silverware, cooking utensils and more. Having an outdoor deck and laundry unit included was a wonderful treat. Incredible extra touches include the modifiable colored lighting in both the kitchen and primary bathroom as well as the unexpected awesome steam shower. These extras made the place feel that much more special and added to the experience overall. The beds were very comfortable including the attic/loft area which had three additional beds that we occasionally used simply to nap in the cozy space after a long workday. As a traveling group, we had the occasional friend/family member visit for a few days here and there and it was great to provide them with comfortable sleeping space. For the technology enthusiasts out there, the internet/wi-fi worked perfectly. The living room has a smart TV, though we travel along with an Apple TV to maintain our streaming accounts which we were able to connect seamlessly. We also enjoyed plenty of late-night video gaming in the living room which felt right at home in the space. The owner of the property, Liisa, was an absolute gem. Liisa was always quick to help with any questions about the property or appliance needs. She kindly offered any other extras (such as borrowing a vacuum or cheese grater) as well as the occasional fun and friendly chat. We had a great time getting to know each other during our stay which was an additional nice bonus! We cannot recommend this place more. It is a short (though San Francisco steep,) walk down to the Mission district’s 24th street which has tons of hispanic history and incredible food options. There’s great brunch and coffee options nearby for morning walks as well as a beautiful park often populated by families. It felt great coming home to this wonderful space each night during our stay and we would definitely stay there again for any extended visits in the future!"

My family & I had an awesome week in San Francisco at Adam’s place. The location is great, just steps away from Bernal Heights Park, where we were lucky enough to see a family of baby owls and crazy views of the city.
The main road is 5 mins away and was filled with really cute shops & restaurants.
The whole place is designed perfectly to feel like a private oasis in the city.

At just over 100 sq ft, experience tiny living in our cozy space. The small space is priced accordingly, we are one of the cheaper places to stay in SF. You'll have a private room with a bathroom and queen Murphy bed that pulls over a couch. We are in the middle of Bernal Heights, a quiet and quaint neighborhood with amazing views of downtown San Francisco from the top of the hill. We are two blocks away from shops, cafes and restaurants, it's very walkable. Come stay and live like a local!
The space
Although we are not located in the tourist zone, we are a short ride away. You will be close to freeways, bus lines, restaurants, cafes and shops.
Our bright, sunny room (just over 100sq ft) is up 12 steps from street level behind a locked gate.
The room is fully equipped with everything you need to make your stay comfortable -- from a queen Murphy bed with a couch to a mini kitchen and full bathroom.
There's guest WiFi and a 42-inch Roku tv with basic channels. You can sign in to your own personal Netflix or Hulu or other accounts on the guest mode.
The wooden breakfast bar is great for eating or planning your day out. The two stools tuck underneath the table and there's an electrical outlet above the table for recharging your devices. The table is on sliding rails so it can be moved to make more room when the bed is fully extended.
The mini kitchen has a sink, induction hotplate, microwave, toaster oven, mini fridge (no freezer), coffeemaker and electric kettle. There's no stove. In the cupboards you will find dishes, glasses, mugs, pans, cutlery, utensils and large bowls. There is plenty of additional space for food storage. Underneath the sink are cleaning supplies, two person earthquake kit, two garbage/recycling cans, hand broom and a small fire extinguisher.
When it's time to sleep, simply remove the couch cushions and the queen-sized Murphy bed frame pulls down over the frame of the couch. It's very quick and easy to pull the bed down for sleeping and put it back in the morning. The Tuft and Needle Mattress is very comfortable. The cushions can be stored on top of black bed cabinet to save space and be out of the way.
To store your clothes, there's a mirrored closet with drawers, shelves and a hanging rod that should accommodate most clothes and shoes. Also an iron and mini ironing board.
The bathroom has a shower, full size sink and toilet. The mirrored medicine cabinet will hold toiletries and we provide towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, a first aid kit and blow dryer.
I think that's everything!
Guest access
The room has an electronic lock and once booked, we can text the code to you.
Other things to note
Although San Francisco is a great walking city, it's known for its hills. The local shopping street -- Cortland Ave. -- is just two blocks away, but is up a moderately steep hill. To access Bernal Hill and the incredible views you must walk up four more steeper streets to get to the top.
Our neighborhood has an 86 'Walk Score,' which it is "very walkable." Everything you might need is within easy walking distance from our house.
When visiting San Francisco, dressing in layers is best. It can turn foggy and chilly quickly so bring a jacket wherever you go -- especially in the summer, which ironically can be the coldest season! Remember what Mark Twain said about the coldest winter he ever spent was the summer in San Francisco.
If you want to visit Alcatraz (highly recommended) book in advance because it tends to sell out, especially during the busy summer months.
We can provide reusable shopping bags to take with you to the shops. San Francisco charges a $0.10 fee for bags at every store.
We love collecting postcards! If you bring us a postcard from where you live for our collection we would appreciate it.

Enjoy a quiet getaway in picturesque Bernal Heights - one of San Francisco's safest and sunniest neighborhoods.
The space
Furnished with a modern metro sensibility, this 1919 jewel preserves its historic flair, boasting authentic, quirky charm and unique architectural detail.
Luxuriate in the tranquil privacy of your room, sip morning coffee amid butterflies and hummingbirds in the garden, or simply relax in an easy chair and take in the delightful whimsy and eclectic fusion of antiques, colorful art and other collected treasures.
Guest access
The serene guestroom features a queen bed, an armchair, and an antique chest of drawers, armoire and secretary desk. Fresh, quality linens and towels are provided. There is a Turkman kilim wool rug over Berber carpeting. Also included are high speed wireless internet, a 32" flat screen HDTV (with local broadcast plus Roku with Amazon Prime video) and a dual-alarm clock radio.
The shared part of the home includes an open-plan living room/dining room with Kazak and Azeri hand-knotted wool rugs over new wood floors, a granite-tiled bathroom overlooking the garden, and a well-stocked galley kitchen featuring an original Wedgewood gas stove, as well as a blender, toaster, coffee-maker, and other appliances and gadgets.
Down the back stairs is an urban oasis with yucca and palm trees, lush foliage, native flowers, garden art, and a flagstone patio – the perfect setting for a casual barbecue or a gourmet brunch al fresco.
During your stay
You can count on personalized hospitality, friendly advice, and insider knowledge from your host, a Bay Area native and longtime SF resident.
My goal is to help you make the most of your stay. I'm available without being intrusive. Your privacy is of utmost importance. If you need something but don't see me around the house, you can always reach me by phone or text, or contact me via the website or app.
Other things to note
Reservations that include a Friday or Saturday (or holiday or special event) have a two-night minimum stay. All reservations are limited to a maximum of 21 nights.
Part of the charm of this 1919 home is its beloved quirkiness. Eccentricities abound as imperfections have accumulated over the course of a century. While an occassional squeek, a persistent leak, or an unexplained draft may betray her advancing age, the dignity of this grand old dame is undeniable.
To be perfectly clear: this is not a modern home. The one top-notch exception is super-fast Wi-Fi, with Sonic 1-Gigabite fiber-optic internet - the fastest in America. Otherwise, so far there are no smart appliances or dynamic climate control, no digital locks, alarms, or LED lighting effects.
Upon check-in, to help you appreciate the analog nature of the space, and to ensure you are familiar with important safety and security features (such as door locks, entry lights, fire and CO2 alarms and fire extinguishers, etc) I will give you a very brief walk-through tour along with your set of keys.
This five-minute check-in interaction may or may not be the only time we cross paths. But it sure beats meeting for the first time on a midnight snack run or a perfectly timed trip to the bathroom. Imagine making our introductions as well as first impressions while sporting pajamas and bed head. Please do not dismiss the value of meeting face-to-face by appointment for the purpose of checking-in.
Thanks for reading this far and I look forward to hearing from you!

There is a deck with wooden benches that you can sit on that overlook the city, the bay and Mt. Diablo, and look up to Bernal Hill. A great place to have a good sit.
And if I'm home, come by for some tea, or maybe even dinner if I'm cooking.
During your stay
I’ll be around but out of the way unless you have questions. I’ve been living in and around SF for almost 10 years, and love pointing people to my favorite places in the city, and the best hikes and nature spots in the greater Bay Area.

Charming, cozy house built in 1890. Both guest rooms are on the 2nd floor (what Europeans call the 1st floor), and both have doors that close. The larger room (double/full bed) is 160 square feet / 15 square meters in size. The smaller room (twin bed) is 105 square feet / 10 square meters, and is available for an additional $10 per night.
The rooms are separated by a 10-foot (3-meter) hallway. Your party—whether 1 or 2 people—will have the entire floor to yourself. [Please tell me when booking if you want the smaller room in addition to the larger one.]
You share the kitchen and bathroom—both on the 1st / ground floor, always spotlessly clean—with me.
I offer a complimentary make-your-own breakfast: coffee, tea, a selection of cereals, cow and oat milk, excellent bakery bread, butter, and jam.
Strong WiFi. You'll have your own set of keys, come and go as you please.
NOTE: THE STAIRS TO YOUR ROOM(S) ARE STEEP AND NARROW. If you have mobility challenges or are frail, this place is not for you.
My neighborhood, Bernal Heights, is a safe, charming, hillside area above the Mission District. It's praised as "a walker's paradise" and for "excellent public transportation" by Walkscore.
The Mission District is just one block away. "The Mission" is a cool, hip, colorful San Francisco neighborhood. It’s big—1.5 square miles (4 square km)—and with hundreds of restaurants, the Mission is celebrated for the diversity of international cuisines offered at low to moderate prices. Abundant outdoor dining.
- Artisanal coffeehouses galore. Great people watching!
- Excellent bookstores.
- Unique gift, clothing, housewares, jewelry, and messenger bag shops, including a pirate supply store.
- Dozens of cool bars and clubs.
- Supermarket 2 blocks away.
IF YOU HAVE A CAR: Street parking is usually easy on my block until 6:30 or 7 p.m. (18:30 or 19:00); After that, it's unpredictable, but you'll find something within 3 blocks. Weekday daytime parking on my block is restricted to two hours between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. (10:00 to 16:00). You might get a parking ticket if you leave your car during those hours. There are streets in the area without parking restrictions. I'll be glad to tell you more about the parking situation.
Guest access
Then entire upstairs is your private space. I don't go upstairs when you're here.

Other things to note
About Me:
I am a 53yr old Latina that ran a Latin cultural store in the Mission for over 23 years, so I have gotten to know the community very intimately.
My motto is Mi Casa es su Casa, you will love my Latin hospitality.
I am also an experienced traveler, the last trip I did was to the Caribbean in Honduras (fantastic!) & I am now daydreaming about going to Colombia - aaaahhhhh.
I am from Mexico originally but grew up in the Bay Area & have lived in SF for 27 years (in this house for 23 ). I also love to dance all kinds of styles but Brazilian Samba is my passion. My other hobbies are hiking, camping, fashion, antiques & history.

Audrey and Nick’s place is a comfortable, spacious studio with a private entrance, and all the comforts of home. It is located in the renovated basement of a 19th century farmhouse and is fully apportioned with a queen size bed, an extra floor mattress, if necessary, a large bathroom with a deep tub and access to both front and back yards.
Guest access
This space has all the basics, and then some. There is free wifi and a flat screen tv, with streaming services on Roku and a DVD player. There are two large closets, as well as ample shelving space for clothes or any other storage needs. There is an oversized countertop convection oven, a two burner induction stovetop, and if there is anything missing, we are right upstairs and will be happy to do our best to accommodate any additional needs.
Other things to note
One thing to note is that we are a family of four people, and three cats that live right upstairs. As a result, there will be some noise from above, but no more than you will find in most urban living situations. We are always respectful and aware that we are sharing our space with guests, and we act accordingly.
Additionally, as of the summer of 2018, the city of San Francisco has instituted a 2 hr. parking restriction in much of our neighborhood on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. We will provide a map when you arrive which details the streets that fall under these new rules. If you plan to drive or rent a car while staying with us, and you do not expect to use it during the weekdays, you should be prepared to park two or three blocks away from the house, at a minimum. Additionally, as with most urban areas, there are other restrictions, such as alternate side of the street parking and meters that you will need to be aware of.
