'THE IGUANA HOUSE'

Located in South Bowers Beach Island directly on the beach and located at the widest point of the Delaware Bay, approx 28 miles across to NJ, this Island home offers something very special that the large resorts don't have, peace and quiet.

Step right onto the sand from this beautiful beach home. If fishing is your thing, cast your line into the water and fresh fish are yours for breakfast or dinner, fishing license required.

You can put your small boat or kayak in the water right off the beach and explore local tributaries where you will find not only the serenity of a wilderness-like landscape but also many species of fish and crabs. Children can ride bikes on the quiet Island road, roller blade or play on the beach, collecting shells and sea glass and be amazed at the site of prehistoric horseshoe crabs that migrate to this area from South America.

The road is subject to tidal flooding. There is an app available for mobile phones called Tides Near Me (its free). Once you open it, pick Delaware, Milford, Mispillion River Entrance. It will give you the best tide information.

If renter cancels within two (2) weeks of arrival all monies will be forfeited.

If the renter cancels prior to two (2) weeks of arrival, refund if any, will be determined by the owner’s ability to re-rent the property for the same amount of money for the same period of time. If successful we will refund full rental amount and security less a 20% administration fee.

Lots of open beach and missing the crazy crowds of more popular beaches down the coast. Sean is a great host and was incredibly responsive throughout the visit from before we checked in to after we checked out. I was pleasantly surprised at the floor plan of the house - it was a great setup for stays with multiple families as there are separate sections of the house with connected bathrooms. This makes it a great place for different families to have their own space while also taking advantage of the large open areas to hang out - two level back deck along with a large open kitchen/dining area."

Great getaway for those looking for a more quiet beach experience. We are located only 1/4 mile from the bay. A mere 10 minutes from DE Turf! We are only 30 minutes from the popular beach resorts of Delaware with loads of activities for the family. Seafood lovers will enjoy the endless supply of local seafood restaurants available. Public boat slip available. Jps on the wharf is a favorite in Bowers Beach. The town will host live music every 3rd Friday in the summer months. Jps also has live music most weekends in the summer months, outside seating available on the wharf. Memorial weekend will bring out the Pirates for the towns annual Buchaneer Bash. Our home offers a large deck to relax on that faces the marshes of the bay. We have 3 bedrooms plus a queen pullout, all with new mattresses. A small BBQ grill is available for your use, propane gas will be a $10.00 charge. Eating seating for 9 as well as sleeping for 9 with 2 full bathrooms. The home has been recently renovated and everything is brand new. You can walk the beach easily...stroll down to the docks, stop at Jps for a bite, take your own boat out or hop aboard the Captains Lady which offers charter fishing trips as well as moonlight trips. Check their schedule for events. Bowers is truly a hidden gem. Come check it out for yourself.

Cutely decorated.. everything looked brand new and they had some of the staples already provided that most rentals don’t keep around between renters like dish soap, garbage bags, laundry detergent and dishwasher soap… making it so easy to buy what we need and add to the collection of needs the next renters may have.. that’s very appreciated when you’re only there for three days! Beds were comfortable and the hosts were very responsive. You know they care about your stay and their property! All in all a great place to stay that I would recommend!."

Guests have full access to the entire front porch, home, back deck, and front and back yards. The garage is not a part of the rental property, however there are parking spaces behind the house.

Holiday House also features two work areas, including a desk, USB/USC charger, and a monitor. An additional twin rollaway can be found in the master, accommodating up to 13 guests total.

Holiday house has a fully stocked kitchen, with a table large enough to seat 10 guests, a barbecue and outdoor seafood boiler, and a table for outdoor dining.

Property was close to DE Turf Fields and located at Bowers Beach. We have gorgeous views of spectacular sunsets over the marsh from our large deck. This is a bird watcher's paradise. We are located in a quiet neighborhood where nature is at its finest. We have a nice backyard and side yard -complete with a tiki bar, horseshoe pits, and can jam. We have a spacious top floor deck for enjoying a cup of coffee or refreshing cocktail.
We are only 15 minutes away from the DE Turf. A great house to relax in before and after games. We are also about 40 minutes north of Rehoboth Beach DE (where you can enjoy the ocean, outlets, and the boardwalk.

Nice, charming and quiet two bedroom home. The Music Room has a unique selection of music to satisfy any generation. There is an arcade room on the inclosed porch for our younger guests to enjoy.

Less than two miles away, is the sports complex which hosts many field hockey, Lacrosse and soccer events. The Dover Mall, Bally's Casino and historic City of Dover is just twenty minutes North. The beach is in walking distance where you can enjoy fishing and crabbing, exploring the beach. The beach and local dog park is let friendly.

The living space includes a full-size pull-out sofa bed, a small but working kitchen, and 1 bathroom with a tiled walk-in shower. You can enter the cottage through the front entrance or the side entrance.

Have coffee on the back deck while enjoying the bird sanctuary and the natural habitat. Take a 2-minute walk to see the beach and views of the bay or a 20-second car ride with free ample parking. There is a seafood restaurant down the street and a tavern for less formal dining or for a summer cocktail.

Welcome to Bowers Beach! This house is walking distance to the beach, Bay View Bar/Restaurant/Live Music, JP's Wharf (waterfront restaurant), and The Captains Lady charter boat. Driving distance to DE Turf Sports Complex (12min), Dover (20min), Harrington (23min), and Tanger Outlets/Rehoboth Beach (41min).

We welcome couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families, tournament teams, big groups, and Dogs welcome (NO CATS).

However quiet or lively your stay, our location has it all.

The space
The kitchen is stocked with your basic cooking and eating essentials. Linens, toiletries, detergent, beach accessories, gas grill, and much more are provided. There is plenty of space for relaxing and entertaining. There are three flat screen tvs with streaming devices. The living room includes a wii, playstation 3 and tons of DVDs. The large bedroom has an Nintendo device with several games downloaded onto the system.

The beach is just a few blocks away. You can walk or drive. There is a giant parking lot closer to the beach. You can relax at the beach or do some fishing. We provide a beach cart and several beach accessories under the house.

The town is very safe and friendly for walks/runs alone or with your dog. Camp/bonfires are permitted if safely maintained.

Great location for: Beach relaxation, DE Turf Complex tournaments, Dover events (DSU/Airforce Base), Nascar, Firefly, hunting/fishing, DE State Fair, Bally’s Dover Casino, Outlet Shopping, vacation, visiting local family, bird watching, boating, water activities, etc.

Other things to note
This beach is not very commercialized so plan to bring your own groceries. During summer season there is a small bait shop open. The Bayview Inn (red bar) offers carry out adult beverages all year round. There is ample parking and it is all free.

There are public trash cans all around and a few doggy bag stations by the beach. Dogs are permitted on the beach during offseason (October-April). All dog walkers should clean up after their dogs every time.

There is a Strict Non-Smoking policy inside of house, security deposit will be forfeited if evidence of smoking inside is found. You can smoke on the deck or patios.

This comfortable home is less than a 2 minute walk to the beach. It’s a large ranch house with 3 bedrooms and a sleeper sofa, comfortably accommodating 8 people. Bowers is Kent County’s hidden gem on the DE Bay. Have coffee on the porch and watch the people go by, or get up early to see the sunrise. Our walkable town offers opportunities for a quiet sunset walk, fishing the river, rent a kayak at the bait shop or dinner at JPs wharf. Your hosts are nearby and available for you!

Holiday House has 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. It features 2 master suites, each with a queen bed and private bathroom. Its 3rd bedroom features a bunkbed with a full bottom and twin on top and an additional twin bed. The 4th bedroom features a bunkbed with a full bottom and twin on top and a twin rollaway bed. Holiday House also features two work areas, including a desk, USB/USC charger, and a monitor. An additional twin rollaway can be found in the master, accommodating up to 13 guests total.

Holiday house has a fully stocked kitchen, with a table large enough to seat 10 guests, a barbecue and outdoor seafood boiler, and a table for outdoor dining.

The screened in porch overlooking the seemingly endless marsh is the ideal spot for your morning coffee or dinner after a long day at the beach or the Turf. Located a quick 10 minute walk to the beach or 5 minute walk to a great restaurant, the home is only 7 miles from the Delaware Turf facility.

The Main Floor features modern kitchen with island seating for 4; a living room with 2 couches and a tv; screened porch with table and chairs and outdoor sofa and tv; and open deck with seating. There is also a bedroom with a Queen sized bed and full bathroom and a laundry room with stackable washer and dryer.

The Second Floor features 3 bedrooms:
Primary bedroom with King bed, full bath, and desk.

Please be aware South Bowers Beach is a stoney beach and is great for hunting beach glass. Water can be murky depending on the direction of the tide.

The flooding is very unpredictable. Road might flood during high tide cycles.

Our home is the beautifully renovated South Bower's Beach Firehouse. We have 360 degree views of the Delaware Bay and the Murderkill River. Our home is located across the street from a serene private beach, where you can enjoy swimming, fishing, kayaking and canoeing. We have gorgeous views of spectacular sunsets over the marsh from our large deck. This is a bird watcher's paradise.
