- "We loved this place. It's a fantastic location close to Crater Lake. Although our cabin was close to the road it wasn't too noisy and the facilities inside surprised us. The bathroom was fine with a decent shower and the room facilities quite adequate. We stayed in cabin 9 which had 2 beds - a small double and a single, fridge and microwave and air conditioning, which was very welcome, if a little noisy. The outside seating area was lovely and the ice cream shop across the road not to be missed! We stayed on a Monday so couldn't visit Beckies cafe sadly, as it is not open Mondays. There are many walking options from the site but it's only a short drive to Crater Lake and ideal to get an early start there."

- "All around wonderful" - "Very responsive and accommodating resort staff." - "Perfect little cabin nestled in next to a lovely creek. Nice walk through the property. Kind operators. " - "Beautiful tranquil setting. " - "This property was very comfortable and quiet. We had a full kitchen to be able to cook and enjoy the evening. The cabin had a window A/C unit which kept the living space cool and placing a provided fan in the bedroom kept us cool while sleeping. We bought a few things at the resort store and all the people were friendly and helpful. Our bed was comfortable/ No complaints except fellow visitors need to slow down when driving by as it makes dust for those enjoying their outdoor space. We witnessed at least 6 that were far exceeding the 5mph suggested speed."

This is a custom-built, two bedroom, one bath home located in the rural Cascade Mountains of Southern Oregon. It is nestled on a wooded acre near the town of Prospect. (population 500). The home is sided with rough-sawn cedar and the interior walls are done with cedar and pine. The Great Room is highlighted by a lodgepole pine spiral staircase. The visitor is welcomed by a comfortable front porch with Adirondack chairs for seating and there is a large patio area and fire pit behind the cabin for outdoor entertaining. However, this is not a party cabin and guests are limited to the number of persons agreed upon in the reservation.

The interior is tastefully designed with relaxation and comfort in mind. Visitors will feel at ease surrounded by natural wood walls and custom woodworking throughout. The Meadow House is named for the expansive meadow it is sited on, and for it’s amazing views and surrounding abundance of natural beauty and wildlife.
Located on the historic 100-acre Katydid Ranch in the rural Cascade mountains, (1 mile from the Rogue River, 28.9 miles from Crater Lake south entrance), this 2-story house is nestled between old timber forest woodlands and meadow. A Protected Wildlife Habitat Area, it includes two large ponds, miles of walking/hiking trails, the equine barn and bunkhouse. Owners also reside on the ranch. Available during all four seasons, the Meadow House is as spectacular in the snow-covered winter as it is in the warm weather of summer.
INTERIOR. The Meadow House (part of the historic Katydid Ranch of the early 1900's), has been rebuilt with custom details throughout and is a lovely way to enjoy extra creature comforts indoors while taking in gorgeous views of meadows and mountains through its many windows. Hardwood floors throughout, custom cabinetry, granite counters, large tiled bathrooms, a wood-burning fireplace (living room) and a large bright kitchen (set up for convenience of meal preparation) provide quality comfort.
Take your pick of the upstairs spacious master (king sized bed-new and very comfortable) or the downstairs corner bedroom (queen sized bed-also new and comfy) which is located next to a full bath. Additionally, there is a small private sleeping room located off the upstairs enclosed balcony which we dub the "eagle's nest". It's a small loft room with a double/full bed and works for a single person or two teenagers that share a bed. The Eagle's nest is small and probably not comfortable for an adult couple.
The house is in pristine condition, designed for comfort, and offers views all around. The wrap around deck is great for reading, relaxing, or barbecuing. It's also wonderful at day end for enjoying a glass of wine and waiting for the wildlife to visit.
OUTSIDE. Just outside the front door, guests will find the entrance to the “pinecone trail” which leads up a small hill to a secluded sanctuary perfect for star-gazing (the night skies are magnificent!) or side-by-side hammock-style relaxation, and a cozy camp-fire pit. It's a very short walk back to the house if you decide to spread out your tablecloth for a romantic picnic on the knoll. At summer end, the ranch berry bushes are available to guests in abundance. Pick enough for your special treat of sweet wild blackberries when in season.
WINTER. On a winter day, you might see wild turkeys and deer browsing in the meadow and then catch the elk coming in for moonlight grazing after dusk. The winter months bring clear cold crisp weather and there is nothing more gorgeous than when the fresh blanket of snow covers the meadow. That’s when it’s time to cozy up to the wood-burning fireplace and relax as you watch the gentle white flakes fall.
Crater Lake National Park offers free ranger-guided snow-shoe walks on weekends and even loan you the snow-shoes! Snow-mobiling and cross-country skiing are popular too. We love spotting all of the animal tracks in the snow!
SPRING. Wildflowers, bulbs, and by the end of May, the Iris are blooming. The meadow grasses are lush with spring showers and warming weather. A gorgeous time of year to visit.
SUMMER. During the summer months the meadow is shared with the ranch horses for daytime grazing who return to the barn at day end just in time for other wildlife visitors to arrive.
FALL. End of summer visitors are invited to indulge in the abundance of wild-blackberry picking (usually beginning by mid-August and lasting through most of September) If you can actually get the sweet berries in a bucket (supplied) you might decide to make a pie later on, or serve them over ice-cream. Yum! If not, just eat them off the bush and enjoy!
Relaxing is an important all-season activity, but not to the exclusion of hiking the numerous trails, bird/wildlife spotting, horse shoes, mountain biking, visiting the ponds, or checking out the old Boise-Cascade tree nursery on the property.
Guests are welcome, if they wish, to join us at the barn at feeding time to enjoy that special time of day with the horses and say hello to the owners whose home is also situated on the meadow; close enough to be available for any unexpected needs and far enough for privacy.
- "This is a whole house with a big backyard for wildlife viewing. It is conveniently located to local sites; a 3-ring binder is provided in the house with information. This house was spotlessly clean, comfortable and quiet. The hosts were very warm and helpful. This is a 5 star location." - "What a great place to stay!" - "Meadow House was an incredible and beautiful place to stay. Highly recommend staying here. Very relaxing and quiet. Nice location to visit Crater National Park and many other sites."

All reservations are made knowing the uncertainty of the health and travel industries, governmental regulations, weather related power outages, local closures and restrictions, on top of the usual weather or other conditions. More than ever, we strongly urge each Guest to purchase “cancel for any reason” travel insurance- as we are firm on our cancellation policy. Thank you.
- "My family’s stay in Marie’s home was everything we wanted for our Crater Lake visit. We were four adults and four teens/tweens who wanted to enjoy hikes in the park and cook or pack most meals. Marie’s house was perfect for sleeping 8, with fans and a portable a/c for hot days, as well as quilts and heat lamps in the bathrooms for cold mornings. The kitchen had ample supplies, and we were in heaven eating dinners by the creek. The little Tupperware containers were perfect for packing salads into the park, and the pitcher was great for cold brew tea. Marie’s recommendations for everything from where to buy groceries to nearby trails to dinners out were perfect. Check-in and out and access to the house went as smoothly as I’ve ever encountered, and Marie’s responses to questions and communications always exceeded my expectations. WiFi was plenty fast enough for two of the adults to check in on work as needed as well as the 4 kids accessing online games. The house is secluded while being right in a town, and we enjoyed the privacy while also appreciating the proximity to walk to dinner, several waterfalls, and a wading pool on the Rogue River. We also played the escape room board game and assembled the 500 piece Crater Lake puzzle. My 12 year old loved the backyard tire swing. Highly highly recommend Marie’s house in Prospect!"

- "We truly enjoyed our stay at the Ranch Cabin. We had chosen it because of its location to Crater lake and was not disappointed. The cabin its self was quaint and thoughtfully decorated. We cooked most of our meals so to have a kitchen that was stocked with not only things to cook with but storage for leftovers was great. Showers were amazing. Loved watching the sunsets with the horses and cattle in the background. Would definitely go back!"

Cowboy Cabins is an Amazing, home, located on a working cattle ranch, in Fort Klamath, close drive to Crater Lake . Beautiful cedar deck over looking the valley where you can watch the cattle graze by. Quiet, peaceful and secluded, away from any city noise, but yet only 19 miles to Crater Lake National Park.. Bedroom has end tables with phone charger outlets , and AC in bedroom and in the living room. Coffee, snacks, lots of extras provided. Wonderful place to relax, and enjoy your vacation.
- "We searched for a place to stay near Crater Lake without being at the lodge - wanted a bit more peace and quiet - and are very glad we found this cute tiny house! Perfect size for our family of three and only about a 30 minute drive to the lodge at the lake. Directions were good since our GPS was confused, and check in was simple. House is back off the road so no noise from there and provided beautiful views of the surrounding hills and fields, plus cows to entertain! There are two other, even tinier houses on the property, adjacent to this one, that had people there at least one night we were there; plus there were other folks that showed up the second night, staying in campers with horse trailers in tow. Regardless of there being more people there than expected, everyone was courteous and did not keep us up at night. The house itself is very new and well stocked with plenty of kitchen items, towels, toiletries, paper goods and bedding. My son enjoyed sleeping on the pull-out couch in the living room (said it was quite comfortable). The main bedroom has a VERY firm foam mattress - something I liked, but my husband didn't. The water gets VERY hot too, so keep an eye on kiddos using the faucets! The window-attached a/c unit in the living room cooled the entire place nicely, though we appreciated the floor fan in the bedroom to keep the air moving overnight when the door was closed. Not much else in the area, so head south for restaurants. Great stay!"

Thank you for allowing us to stay at your home!" - "My family and I stayed for 3 nights as we explored Crater Lake National Park. - "I chose this place because it looked very isolated and convenient to Crater Lake. Then I got worried because I did not get good directions to it, and saw pictures showing a trailer, and barn right next to it. Once we got there, and in, it was great! Very spacious, full of kitchen supplies, A/C, and comfortable furniture. There is a neighbor we met, and he was very quiet and nice. " - "This property was delightful! It was a comfortable home away from home while we visited Crater Lake and the surrounding countryside. It was well stocked. The location was so peaceful; we enjoyed spending time on the covered patio, watching the birds and listening to the cattle. And the host was very responsive."

- "This location is amazing with the large yard and flowing river that wraps around the property. The layout of the house works well and would fit a good size family. We only needed one bedroom so it felt very spacious. It was so pleasant to sit on the deck in the morning with a cup of coffee watching the sunlight shine on water flowing down the river. Melted away any stress I had. The fire pit was great as well.My only regret was that we booked this as a 2-night stopover on our trip from Seattle to Lake Tahoe. After staying here, I wish we had skipped Tahoe and just booked the full week at the River House."

The kitchen is well stocked with equipment and is very usable. We loved that there was enough seating for five people at both the inside and outside deck table, and in the living room. Great hospitality. Great deck and yard. Close to Crater Lake, which was our goal. But also close to Train Mountain Railway Museum, which is super fun. - "This property was perfect for our purposes. It was clean, spacious and very close to the park as well as many other attractions! Would definitely stay here again if we are ever back in the area!" - "House was wonderful--one tip to help find it: Google takes you to Wood River Ranch, about 100-200 yards north of the driveway for this property, where address and red newspaper box are on the left when heading south on Hwy 62. Crater Lake is about 45 minutes up 62. The VRBO was clean, beds comfy, AC definitely working on mid-90s degree day, and kitchen was fully equipped. Charcoal grill outside, great views of mountains and sunset to west. Don't miss the Wood River wetlands hike, about 5 minute drive away. Great water views and birds galore! I'd recommend this VRBO to anyone heading to Crater Lake!"

- "Property manager had the best communication of any of the vacation property managers we’ve experienced!" - "Kayaking was fun" - "We stayed here while visiting Crater Lake. The setting was beautiful and it was relatively close to Crater Lake National Park. You are definitely paying for the location. The duplex was nothing special. We had to walk a short distance to our side of the duplex. There was no sidewalk and the ground was uneven - not great for two older adults carrying suitcases and coolers, etc. We could hear the conversations of the people in the other side of the duplex while sitting in the living room. The water has a lot of rust/iron which turns things reddish orange - the shower curtain, the tiles in the shower. We definitely enjoyed sitting by the river in the evening and watching a mother duck and 13 ducklings swimming down the river. The owner got us the check in information early - as soon as it was cleaned. It was an ok place - we expected more for the price."

- "This was a great place to stay. Close to Crater Lake, quiet, and comfortable. The decor was all western themed, clever and fun. A couple hours into my stay, the owner knocked and said the water pump had gone out. They gave apologies and said they were working on it. I appreciated the head's up and the apology for the inconvenience. The problem was taken care of within a couple of hours and they gave me a partial refund for the inconvenience. Terrific response to a problem. I would come back again!! "
