- "The place is very quaint but a bit tight for our group. For example, you could not open the basement door and the back door at the same time. This made unpacking and reloading a challenge. The downstairs "lounge" was somewhat finished with painted walls floor and overhead. Very low ceilings down there as well. My 6'4" husband banged his head more than a few times. Not sure the basement bath and bedroom addition would considered code as there was no egress from the basement. But our stay was very short and i would definitely stay again."

The house is very spacious with a wonderful living room and space for playing, as well as a fantastic dining table that easily seats 8 people. We had local family come by and enjoyed sitting on the back deck watching the kids play in the backyard, and took advantage of the well outfitted kitchen to cook family meals. The bedrooms were spacious with walk-in closets, and the laundry came in very handy. We walked in the beautiful neighborhood to a nearby park to play and fly kites, and we got many compliments on the house from our visitors. Please remember that you will be staying in privately owned apartment, not a hotel. Therefore, we ask that you treat our space with the same respect you would show your own. If there are any problems that arise, we will do our best to attend to these situations ASAP!
For the safety and security of our guests and neighbors, the exterior of the building is monitored 24/7 by recording security cameras covering the front building view of the street, the side and rear parking area. Tampering in any way with our outside cameras will result in a $250 fine.

We provide free parking for 2 cars (a 3rd space may be available upon request). Unauthorized cars will be towed at owner's expense

The maximum house capacity is 10 people. Unauthorized parties, guests, events and smoking of any kind are house rule violations and will result in fines / fees and immediate cancellation of booking without refund. If extra cleaning is required due to excessive unauthorized activity such as smoking inside the property, you may be charged up to $500 cleaning fee. We value the safety and security of all our guests.

PET FEES:
Standard pet fee is $75.

If we have to clean up pet urine or droppings in the apartment or pet droppings outside we will charge additional.
We must be notified if you have animals, even if they are service animals. Animals must not be left unattended unless they are crated. They cannot be left loose alone in the house.

Note: You must be 21 or older to book. All adults must provide a photo of your D.L. or State ID upon request.

We're happy to assist with any questions you might have or provide tips and recommendations for the surrounding area. However, the house is all yours. So while you're here, you will not be disturbed unless you contact us.

The only thing I would recommend, is to add a few extra towels and pillows. Haha! We had to do our towels daily and also I’m a sleeper that likes extra pillows. We felt safe in this location. We commuted about 45 min to downtown Chicago to visit several tourist attractions. The house has a full kitchen, nice dining room and living room. Everything in the house was clean and in good shape. We definitely will be staying here again for future tournaments or Chicago visits!"

▪ The property sits on Archer Ave so there will be road noise. The road noise can vary depending on time of day, local events, and season.
▪ The back part of the yard is heavily wooded, so small wild animal sightings can happen (ie. bunnies, coyotes, racoons, bugs, mice, squirrels, toads, etc.).
▪ Our floors may have a bit of character, with some slight dips. Nothing major, but enough that it is noticeable.
▪ The basement is directly underneath this apartment so you might hear the mechanicals (furnace, hot water tank, water softener, etc) when they're kicked on and working.

This original historic building (North building) began its journey as a schoolhouse in 1851 and became a home in 1882. The new South building was constructed in 1884 after the old school house was relocated to its current location (North building)
