- "The place is very quaint but a bit tight for our group. For example, you could not open the basement door and the back door at the same time. This made unpacking and reloading a challenge. The downstairs "lounge" was somewhat finished with painted walls floor and overhead. Very low ceilings down there as well. My 6'4" husband banged his head more than a few times. Not sure the basement bath and bedroom addition would considered code as there was no egress from the basement. But our stay was very short and i would definitely stay again."

- "My husband and I stayed with our son, daughter in law and 3 year old grandson. The house is very spacious with a wonderful living room and space for playing, as well as a fantastic dining table that easily seats 8 people. We had local family come by and enjoyed sitting on the back deck watching the kids play in the backyard, and took advantage of the well outfitted kitchen to cook family meals. The bedrooms were spacious with walk-in closets, and the laundry came in very handy. We walked in the beautiful neighborhood to a nearby park to play and fly kites, and we got many compliments on the house from our visitors. Everything was sparking clean, and we would definitely stay here again!"

Our cozy, 1920's home is located in the Cathedral district in Joliet.
3 minutes away from the Haley Mansion and 6 minutes away from the Jacob Henry Mansion.

You get the whole main floor for yourself and your guest(s) with your own entrance through the front door that has a keypad door lock. I along with my two mini dachshund puppies stay in the basement. We have our own entrance through the back.

You can park right outside on the street. So there is plenty of parking.

The space
We furnished our home with the goal of it feeling cozy yet light and airy. In the evening, you can snuggle up with soft blankets while relaxing to the fireplace cracking in the living room.

The coffee table in the living room lifts up making it super convenient to set your laptop and use it as a workstation.

& of course, our mattresses and pillows are super comfy just like I would have if it was my bedroom.

The kitchen comes stocked with coffee and tea.

Since this is a 1920s home there is no central air conditioning. There are windows units in the bedrooms that keep those rooms very cool.

Wonderful piece of home and serenity. A small but large enough for two-four people to enjoy. There is a full size bed in the main bedroom and pocket doors that close off the Murphy bed located as a second bedroom.

The space
Newely renovated basement that I lived in for 6 years before deciding to move back upstairs, Fully furnished for your comfort.

Steps away from the Rock Run walking/biking path. You can enjoy a 16-mile mostly paved loop trail to reconnect with nature or walk the trail as you like.

Guests have complete access to a fully furnished front room, kitchen 2 separate bedrooms and 1 bathroom. There is a beautiful front concrete stamped patio (summer use) that has seating on it to enjoy an early cup of coffee, or checkout the neighborhood. The backyard has seating on it also for you to enjoy (summer only). There is a 6 foot fully enclosed privacy fence with locks on the gates in case I am dog sitting.

We are close to Joliet Mall and several specialty store should you want to do some shopping. There are a variety of grocery stores also to choose from as well as restaurants to eat out at or have delivered.

Full sized bed in the main bedroom that has 2 dressers for your clothes as well as closet space to hang your clothes. There is a pocket door that leads to another full sized bed but it is a murphy bed that also has another pocket door to close you off from the fully usable kitchen.

Each bedroom has it's own 32' TV with my Hulu and Netflix on it.

Living area has a 55' TV also with my Hulu and Netflix on it.

Counter top eating area attached to the kitchen.

Soaker tub in the bathroom or shower if you perfer.

Please do not park in the neighbors driveway you will be towed. I have enough room for 6 cars on my driveway. That is the only place that you should be parking at.

Please park on the right hand side of the brown single car garage door. If you park in front of the door I can not get in or out. I will have to come downstairs and ask you to move.

There is a walkway on the right side of the house to walk to the side screen door press the schlage logo and enter the last 4-digits of your phone number that is on your Airbnb account

If you’re phone number is different than the number listed you need to let me know ASAP.

After opening the door you will find light switches on the right hand side of the home to turn on the lights so you don’t fall down the stairs

If I am home at the time of your arrival, I will have them turned on for you already as well as leaving a light on in the apartment for you.

I do have 1 feral cat that comes in at night but have blocked him from entering your home. He has access to my home only

Unique home because the top is totally how we bought the home everything is original from 1920's. Now the basement we renovated hence it feels like completely two different spaces. In this listing you are getting two full kitchens, 2 living rooms, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

Since this is a 1920s home there is no central air conditioning. Upstairs, there are windows units in the bedrooms that keep those rooms very cool. Downstairs, there are wall units.

The space
My home sits on the corner of the block so it is very quiet. It has a lot of yard space and a drive way.

Guest access
Guests will have access to 3 bedrooms: 2 on the main floor, and one on the lower floor. There is one bathroom on each floor as well. The main dining room is on the main floor right off of the living room. Each floor has a full kitchen, fully stocked with anything you might need during your stay. There is also a theater on the lower floor. Guests can access a laundry room on the lower floor. I have locked the attic door and the furnace room, please do not try and access these areas.
