Depending upon which direction you walk, drive, bus or take a ride-share service, you will find tourist destinations, business centers, restaurants of all styles, lovely parks, grocery stores, coffee shops, bakeries and a wide variety of shopping nearby in the Phinney Ridge, Greenwood, Wallingford, Fremont and Ballard neighborhoods. Travelers can easily reach the business centers of South Lake Union and Downtown.

There is plenty of on-street parking right out front and several bus stops within blocks. Bus route 5 runs north/south, route 44 runs east/west. Downtown, Seattle Center, South Lake Union and the University District are all just 10 minutes away by car.

The high quality sleeper sofa (no hide-a-bed bars here) in the living room pulls out to a comfy queen-sized bed. There is a selection of extra pillows and bedding so that you can find just the right combination for a good night's rest. Blackout shades throughout the house provide plenty of excuses for sleeping in whether you are in the bedroom or on the sleeper sofa. All sheets are high thread count and 100% cotton.

The fully-equipped kitchen with dining nook has stainless steel appliances, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender, hand mixer as well as all the dishes, pots, pans and utensils you will need. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are provided.

The bathroom includes a new shower with shampoo, conditioner and body wash, as well as hand soap, lotion, hair dryer and plenty of plush towels. Terrycloth robes are also provided.

The so-called futon couch was the size for a child that didn’t even flatten out. the windows have half inch cracks in it so we froze which got us sick from the air coming straight into our face. The traffic is so loud all day all night. You don’t get a decent sleep. The mattress in the bedroom was so lived in. We had to put it on the floor, so our backs wouldn’t hurt. There was absolutely no blankets whatsoever which we had to go out and purchase some. All they had was sheets. There was not sufficient drawers. My son-in-law had to put his clothes in the kitchen cabinet or kitchen drawer. We ended up paying out-of-pocket four days at a different hotel just to get some sleep and have appropriate accommodations. The tub doesn’t drain so you’re taking a shower with water up to your ankles."

Charming Cottage hideaway in the NW Seattle neighborhood of Crown Hill, with easy access to all the best Seattle has to offer. Includes fully-fenced backyard. Newly constructed Casita in backyard. Just 10 minutes from the lively Ballard neighborhood or Greenwood, just 15-20 minutes from Downtown Seattle. Close to Woodland Park Zoo, Golden Gardens Park, Shilshole Bay, Ballard Locks, and much more. The trailhead into Carkeek Park (which includes a beach) is just 1/2 mile away.

The space
Newly updated main floor unit with full kitchen, bath, two bedrooms and living room, with LG Washer/Dryer. All appliances are brand new. This space is on the main floor and sleeps up to 5 children or adults. One bedroom has a double bed with a single loft-bed above (bunkbed). The other bedroom has a King size bed with a Purple brand pressure-relieving mattress. There are large-screen Smart TVs in both the master bedroom and the living room, each wired to the internet and local channels. There is WiFi throughout.

Fenced-in backyard features all-new patio. We are still putting the finishing touches on the detached, un-heated Casita in backyard. Casita is wired for electricity and will offer seating and a table. Casita has double French doors that can be opened from the inside to create an indoor/outdoor space for relaxing when the weather is nice. The Casita entrance is a sliding door on the SIDE.

Full kitchen has your essentials like cookware, plates, bowls, glasses, mugs and utensils. There is a full-size refrigerator, stove, oven, and microwave, plus counter space. There is also a drip coffee maker and toaster. All cabinets and marble countertops are brand new.

The small bathroom has a bathtub with shower, toilet and compact vanity with counter. All fixtures including tub, toilet, sink and cabinets are brand new.

The Unit is all at one level, however, the front door (porch) and the back door exit to backyard have a couple of steps to climb or descend. We apologize that this makes our cottage not accessible for wheelchairs or those individuals unable to use stairs.

There is another unit at the lower level of the house.

There is off-street parking for 1 car in the area between street and front yard. Location is only 3 blocks from a major shopping center with a QFC supermarket and several restaurants.

Bus line to downtown Seattle is 2 blocks away.

SAFE CLEANING POLICY: For Guest safety and health protection, we deep clean after each Guest stay and before each new Guest check in. This includes all fresh clean linens/towels, using disinfectant cleaner on all frequently touched surfaces (light switches, doorknobs, cabinet handles, remotes, etc.) as well as hard floors and furniture.

Guests have access to the entire main floor of house and the entire fenced backyard with patio, and the Casita. There is another unit at the ground level below main floor unit.

Delightful, spacious (400 sq. ft.), private, daylight basement studio in North Seattle. Whether you are in Seattle for a long weekend or here for work, my space is the perfect Seattle getaway. After adventures in the city, relax in this tranquil garden and living space. The space includes a private entrance, a bathroom with 5 shower heads, a queen size bed and a very comfortable full-size futon if a second bed is needed. No kitchen, but a fridge, microwave, Keurig and dishes are available.

The space
COVID-19 Response: I want you to know I am helping my guests stay safe by thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting between guests. All bedding, pillows and towels are washed and sanitized, bathroom and "kitchen" areas are cleaned and disinfected and frequently touched surfaces (light switches, remotes, door knobs, cabinet handles, tables, etc) will be wiped down or sprayed with disinfectant ).Cleaning supplies are available for your use during your stay if you want them. I want your trip to be worry free!

My guests are welcome to enjoy my garden. Relax in the hammock or one of the seating areas. Inside you will find a coffee maker with coffee and a mini-fridge with water and snacks. Internet access , TV with Netflix and Hulu as well as board games are available for rainy Seattle evenings. Free street parking in front of the house is plentiful. Across the street next to the curb is the safest place to park.

Guest access
Guests have a private studio space in the basement as well as use of the patios and garden. When the weather is nice, you will often find me working in the garden but please feel free to relax there. I love sharing it with my guests.

Other things to note
-This is a basement studio so you must go down stairs to enter. There are 8 steps that are well lit and not steep with walls on both sides.
-Garden lights along the garage and on the railing help light your way if you come and go in the dark.
-The heat, a gas fireplace, is separate from my upstairs space and easily adjustable. It creates a lovely intimate feeling when the fire is on.
