The cabin is fully insulated and has a large propane heater for cool winters & a ceiling fan and air conditioner for the hot summers.
The Ruby View is equipped with an indoor kitchenette with running water, indoor Hot Shower, Sofa-Sleeper Queen bed with mattress topper if needed, night stands, charging stations and an extra luxury chair that folds into a twin bed. It sleeps 3 comfortably!
There is a comfy insulated private outdoor restroom next to the cabin with outdoor and inside lights, so no flash lights needed at night.
There is a dining area and living room with large sofa-sleeper that has USB charging ports and cup holders as well as a coffee table that opens into a TV Tray.
Fun fact: There are LED colorful lights underneath the couch :)

The kitchen shelves are stocked with plates, cups, mugs, cooking utensils, pots, pans, silverware and continental breakfast food, granola, oatmeal, canned baked beans, Mac-n-cheese, dried milk, coffee creamer & sweetener. There is a Propane heater available for the winter time or when needed and air-conditioning for the hot summers. All windows have blinds but need the window “stick”- spacer to prop them open.

The Weber Bar-B-Q uses propane canisters. 1 canister is complimentary, additional canisters are $7/ea.

Pets are allowed with additional $50 pet fee. Cats are allowed but must be declawed or have claw covers. Litter box not provided. Guests must clean up after pets and no pets allowed on furniture, or to run around property without a leash. There are three indoor-outdoor cats on site (Davina, LeeLoo & Dallas) and several bunnies that we do not want disturbed.
*Pet owners are responsible for any damages and/or extraordinary cleaning.

* Make sure to take the Road “HILLTOP RD” off of Jiggs Hwy 228. Be prepared to drive 4 miles on a well kept gravel road before you reach the cabin.
* Parking for Ruby View is at top of Main Driveway. There is a Parking sign and a Luggage Wagon to walk to the cabin on the west side of the host’s home. There’s signs, you can’t miss it!
* Maximum 2 Vehicles. If you have a trailer it must be parked at bottom of driveway.

We have an elegant, guest room available in our home, 12' ceilings and open space. Horse trough bath tub, two person shower, lots of room! Outdoor showers are an option in good weather.

When you receive confirmation for booking, please follow the "Host Directions" as a GPS or Map program alone will either have you lost or take you over an EXTREMELY rough Jeep road. Our "main" road is dirt/gravel, but passable in a passenger car if taken slowly, not at drive-it-like-you-stole it speeds.

Beautiful high desert straw bale home located at 5,800' with expansive views of the Ruby Mountains and South Fork Lake. Private and serene.

There is hiking and mt. biking right from our door, or you can drive to Lamoille Canyon, 25 minutes away, for high alpine hikes in the scenic Ruby Mountains. The guest room has a large bath with tub and walk-in shower, both big enough for two. Wi-fi is available - free, plenty of parking, and a nearby lake if you bring your own kayak or boat.

Views from our place are peaceful and grand. Expect to relax and get out of the fast paced world while you're here. Our
nearest neighbors are about a mile away. Restaurants and town - 30 minutes to Elko. There is no public transportation in this area or in Elko. Most roads outside of town, including ours, are dirt so drive carefully.

Breakfast included in nightly and weekly rates. Please, do not expect dinner should you arrive at dinner time. We don't want to have to raise rates to cover this. You are free to bring your own dinner foods and use the kitchen.

Birding is good here most of the year. Ruby National Wildlife Refuge/Marshes which is famous for nesting habitats for hundreds of species is an easy 40 minutes away. (website hidden)

We've been fortunate several years to have nesting Northern Goshawks on our hill with fledglings often drinking from our dog's water. We also have Red Tail Hawks, Cooper's Hawks, Golden Eagles, Mountain Bluebirds, and in the Ruby Mountains if you get up early and hike to Island lake you will likely be lucky enough to see the Himalayan Snow Cock found only here and in the Himalayas.

Fall activities include: hiking, mt. biking, hunting, and some fishing depending upon water levels. We would be happy to host hunters and can give tips, help cut up game, or establish a home base camp here at the house for you.

At the end of January and first week of February each year Elko hosts the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering, so it's a great time to visit, and we are more than happy to give tips on restaurants and performances. Bring your parkas as February is often cold.

Our place is a respite from the workday world and contemporary society. Our home is green with low and zero VOC finishes - American Clay covered walls, and Saltillo Mexican tile floors. We built this house ourselves, with no hired help, over a 3 year period. It is stout, complements the environment, and super healthy.

We cam also offer Belgian waffles, pancakes, or cereals - typically it's chef's choice, but if you give us an idea of what you like ahead of time we will try to accommodate you.

The space

The ViewPoint Country Cabin is like Glam-Camping at its finest! It is fully insulated and has a large propane heater for winter & air-conditioning & ceiling fan for summer. It is equipped with indoor kitchenette, 1 Bedroom loft w/ Queen bed, night stands with lamps and charging stations, desk & with chair. There are two bathrooms (indoor & outdoor), dining area and living room with large sofa and a chair that folds into a bed (extra sheets are provided on the shelf.
The stairs to the loft/bedroom are ‘steep’ like on a cruise-ship 60 degrees, and not ADA compliant. However, they are very sturdy (400 lbs capacity) and there are two railings and a handicap-handle at top of stairs.
There is one indoor bath with propane heated hot shower (which can get too hot in the summer, so let it fun for a few mins to cool down). The indoor bathroom also has an RV type toilet & sink, and there is an outdoor private bathroom house as well. There is a Large sofa that can also sleep a small to medium size person. The cabin can Sleep up to 4 people (squished), 2-3 comfortably.
Living Room is equipped with a ROKU TV which is also hooked up to a digital antennae. The Kitchen has a sink with running water and there is a butane burner stove top, electric drip coffee maker, refrigerator and freezer.
The Pantry is stocked with plates, cups, mugs, cooking utensils, pots, pans, silverware and continental breakfast food as well as mac-n-cheese and baked beans.
There is also a Propane radiant heater available for the winter time or when needed.

The Tap water is unlimited and there is a hose on the side of the cabin to refill containers as needed. The tap water is from the well. Two gallons of purified water is complimentary (1 gal on shelf & one under the sink). If more purified water is needed it is $2/Gal. Weber Bar-B-Q uses propane canisters. 1 canister is complimentary, additional canisters are $7/ea. The Coleman stove top burner in kitchen uses a butane canister. 1 canister is complimentary, additional canisters are $4/ea.

Pets allowed with additional $50 pet fee. Cats allowed but must be declawed or have claw covers. Litter box not provided. Guests must clean up after pets and no pets allowed on furniture, or to run around property without a leash. There are cats and bunnies that we do not want disturbed. Pet owners are responsible for any damages or extraordinary cleaning.

* Be prepared to drive 4 miles on a well kept gravel road before you reach the cabin.
* No hunting on property and no animal carcasses allowed on property other than stored fish for cooking.
* NO SMOKING INSIDE CABIN. Outside smoking with an ash tray ok. Please No hot ashes on ground.

Guests have their own private driveway and parking area. The parking area is a bit steep so park as close to the stairs or wherever is best for your vehicle. There is room for a trailer and an extra vehicle (three vehicles max). If arriving late there are solar outdoor lights around the deck and stairs to cabin.

Service works throughout the cabin but is stronger near the windows and outside.

LIGHTS:
Outdoor lights:
There are solar lights around the deck, and along the path to the gym. They come on at dusk.
There are motion lights inside and outside the outdoor bathroom house. They stay on for 30 seconds and will turn back on again with added motion.
Indoor Lights:
There is a remote lighted ceiling fan. The remote is mounted on the wall next to the front door.
There are lights in the bathroom and next to the sofa above the window.
Upstairs there is a strip light above the ROKU TV.
Upstairs there are lamps on the night stands.

ROKU TVs:
*There is a ROKU TV downstairs. The remote is on the coffee table. This TV is also connected to a digital antenna that will get many local channels. To connect to internet go to select network and choose STARLINK.
**To connect to “digital antenna” click to home icon button on remote. Then scroll to the RIGHT and select “Live TV” [do not scroll down to Live TV (its confusing), that is different ‘live tv’ and takes you to internet Live TV NOT antenna “Live TV.”

*There is a ROKU TV upstairs on the desk/table. The remote is on the desk. To connect to the internet go to select network and choose STARLINK. This TV is not connected to the digital antenna.

AIR MATTRESSES:
There are two air mattresses located under the bed upstairs along with a battery operated air pump. Extra sheets and blankets are located on the top pantry shelf downstairs next to the refrigerator.

PROPANE BAR-B-Q & BUTANE STOVE TOP
There is a propane canister for the Bar-B-Q under the kitchen sink. When finished using the Bar-B-Q, please detach the canister or it will leak until empty.
1 canister is complimentary, additional Propane Canisters are $7/ea.
There is also an additional complimentary Butane canister under the sink for the stove top (one is inside the stove top). Again, please unlock to detach butane connection when finished cooking.
Additional Butane canisters are $4/ea.

WATER
Tap water is unlimited and there is a hose on the side of the cabin to refill containers as needed. The tap water is from the well.
Purified water is complimentary (4 gallons). If more purified water is needed it is $2/Gal.

COFFEE TABLE TURNS INTO TV TRAY TABLE:
Pull up on indent handle on side of coffee table and then pull up and out.

The private space is the basement level of a three story home. This includes the kitchen, dining area, lounge, bathroom, theater, the king room, and the bunk bed nook. The shared space is the outdoor area. Our family of six lives on the upper two floors.
For sleeping arrangements it contains one bedroom with a king size bed, a home theater that serves as another bed room with a fold out couch and another standard couch, a small nook with twin xl bunk beds, lastly two small couches and one fullsize air mattress in the open area.
If requested, I can provide additional mattresses and/or a mini crib.

The master bedroom is the main bedroom within the inside living space.

The second bedroom you walk out the back door into the shop area and go upstairs to the bedroom. The access is still all enclosed.

There will also be a refundable $200.00 security deposit with each rental. This will be charged once the booking has been confirmed

LODGING POLICIES AND TERMS: To make reservations for lodging, a 50% deposit is due immediately upon booking of reservation. Reservations cannot be made or held without this payment. Final payment for lodging, plus tax, is due and payable 14 days prior to arrival. Payments are made through Airbnb. Reservations made within 14 days of arrival must remit full payment by Pay Pal, credit card, money order, or cashiers check. If deposits and final payments are not received on or before due dates, reservations are subject to cancellation.
DAMAGE TO HOME: Lodging guest shall be liable for any and all damages beyond reasonable wear and tear. Upon check out, the property will be inspected, and if damage is found, the guest will be charged for replacement for necessary repairs. A $400 security deposit can be charged to the guest within 10 days after check out if damage has been found. Security deposit can also be used for violation against agreement by allowing more guests than approved for, allowing pets, excessive amounts of cleaning required or any other violations of the lodging.
Lodging is located in a setting with close proximity to other residents. Consequently, it is imperative that all guests agree to obey county and state laws concerning behavior and noise regulations. Please be considerate of others.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellation made 30 days or less prior to arrival will forfeit full deposit. NO refunds for early departures or late arrival. No show, no refund. Cancellations are subject to credit card processing fees not being refunded.
The signed “Rusty’s Rd. Reservation Confirmation Agreement” must be returned to Eldridge Management within ten (10) days of booking in order to verify reservation. If signed reservation confirmation is not in Eldridge Management’s possession within said amount of days, reservations must be cancelled.
Reservations must be paid in full 14 days prior to arrival. If they are not paid in full prior to arrival, reservation will be cancelled and guest will forfeit full deposit.
Exceeding the designated number of persons staying in lodging constitutes a breach of this contract and can result additional cost to the guest or loss of security deposit.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibility of Eldridge Management or its agents is limited. They act as agents for clients in regard to lodging accommodations and assume no liability for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity which may be occasional either by reason or defect, through acts or defaults of any company or person, or direct indirect acts of God, fire, breakdown in machinery or equipment, riots, strikes, military obligations, or from any causes beyond the control of Eldridge Management.

LONG TERM STAYS:

ANY STAYS OVER 14 DAYS - THERE WILL BE AN EXTRA CLEANING FEE CHARGED AND A CLEANING WILL BE REQUIRED EVERY 14 DAYS
