Please ignore a recent reviewer who stated the house is abandoned and boarded up! We are working with VRBO to get this removed for falsehoods! The windows and doors are not boarded up (no hurricanes in Baker City!), and it was rented all summer with high reviews. Please look at those instead when making your decision on whether to rent this property. The house is exactly the same for all these people, only this guest was different. The well-appointed South Casita is located 1/2 mile from the Quail Ridge Golf Course, yet only two minutes away from the amenities of downtown Baker City, featuring shopping, art galleries, dining, wine bar and award-winning brew pubs. You will enjoy the resort like setting of the South Casita boasting a 600 sq. ft. combined bedroom and living area, including a separate full bathroom and kitchenette. The queen bed has a luxury pillow top mattress with high quality sheets and bedding.

Kitchen layout was a little difficult to maneuver as it was so small, but this really didn't affect our enjoyment, as we had planned on dining out during our stay. The quiet and peaceful location was perfect - although we were able to view wildlife from our window and from the deck, we were very close to town, so that we could easily go explore the local shops, see the sights, and learn the history of Baker City. The hostess provided lots of little "extras", which was a nice surprise. I would definitely choose to stay here again, should I get the opportunity. Highly recommend!"

Newly remodeled industrial loft that overlooks Main Street and 2500sf of living space that boasts 2 ensuites with king-size beds. In the heart of Baker and within walking distance to restaurants, bars, shopping, parks, and much more! An 85' "wall of fame" that displays historic black and white photos dated back to the late 1800s. So much history and includes the original lift used in 1900. Large open seating area, 10.5' center kitchen island. A true must-see!

The beds were comfortable. We had trouble with the lock, but received immediate help. We appreciated the location as it was close the both the downtown area & stores on the highway. The neighborhood was super quiet which was a pleasant surprise after being barked at by dogs upon arrival. We were greeted with the wonderful smell of homemade bread ... perfect to go with the bottle of wine wmy friend bought at the local winery store! Would definitely stay at this location again. You’ll have two full beds, a full bathroom with a shower, and a kitchenette containing a refrigerator, oven, coffee maker, and other essentials. Take advantage of the adjustable rolling ladder to reach the upper storage shelves.
The Suburban Suite has a main living area with a wood stove for chilly winter nights. There is a 32-inch Roku TV, comfy seating, and small bar table that can be used as additional counter or desk space. The bedroom also has a fold-down desk and adjustable stool for dedicated workspace.
This space is walking distance from the Quail Ridge Golf Course and only a short, 3-minute drive from historic downtown Baker City.
Guest access:
You’ll have full access to the driveway space directly in front of the ADU, the right side yard, and the ADU space itself. The backyard is accessible only when there is no other guest staying in the main house, or upon private arrangement between guests. Such arrangements must be approved by myself as well, to assure all parties are content and comfortable.
A few details to note when booking:
HEATING:
The suite relies heavily on two space heaters to maintain a comfortable temperature in the winter. There is also a wood stove available for use. The furnace to the main house unfortunately does not provide heat to this space.
COOLING:
This unit does not have AC and uses cooling fans and window management (opening windows at night to circulate cool air and closing them in the morning to trap it). The glass lift door can also be opened to allow breezes through as well.
We are continually working to improve the temperature management of this suite, so you have temperature sensitivities, please plan accordingly and communicate openlyto make sure this booking will be a good fit for your stay!
KITCHEN LADDER:
To reach the stored dishes and servingware in the kitchen, you will need to be able to climb the sliding ladder. Please note that in order to use it safely, you will need to lift slightly and pull out towards you so that the base of the ladder rests further into the room creating a much more comfortable angle for climbing. It lifts up and can be placed in its upright position for storage. Do not attempt to climb it while in the upright position!

Get away from it all at this unique and tranquil place located along side of the Snake River, Brownlee Reservoir. The pavement ends right past Spring Recreation Park and the rest is gravel until our place.
We may be small inside but outside offer miles to play, fish, hike, 4 wheel, boat, kayak/paddle board (provided with rental) and hunt. Be prepared to view deer, Rocky Mountain sheep, eagles, hawks, chukars, quail and turkeys. Occasionally they will come right through our property.
Indoor accommodations include 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, kitchenette and small living room. A 1957 completely remodeled vintage trailer with new electrical and plumbing! Cable television and Starlink WiFi provided.
Outside you have a private covered porch with comfy chairs, picnic table, gas bbq and fire table.
Off the porch you have a private fire pit area with chairs and a table. Beach access to launch a boat. The water table does fluctuate so ask when booking. Your own shaded beach area that includes chairs, lounge chairs, picnic tables, swing chair and hammock.
Other things to note
We have 2 dogs, Ocho is our German shorthair and 12 years old. Rusty is our small white furry one that was a rescue. He barks a bit but will quit. Both are friendly. We have a barn cat called LC. The quests we would prefer not to ever see, but can, are Rattle Snakes. Please in the summer time be aware of where you are walking and never reach where you can’t see.

Welcome to the Time Capsule! This 1950s home is more unique than most hotel rooms in Baker City, Oregon. With only one owner in 71 years, the 2 bed, 1 bath vacation rental is filled with charm. All we added during the restoration phase is air conditioning, a few antique furniture gems, and mid-century modern decor for style, comfort, and a fun blast through the past. Everything else is original, including the hardwood floors which we found hidden underneath the carpet! They were quite literally, held in a time capsule.
If you are looking for lodging near downtown Baker City, this is it. Nestled in a quiet, residential neighborhood, The Time Capsule is only a few blocks from Barley Brown’s Taphouse and Restaurant, The Main Event Sports Bar, and much more. In addition to accommodations in Baker City, OR, we are happy to give local suggestions to enjoy your time in our little corner of eastern Oregon.
This home is 2,334 sq ft including the basement, which is currently unfinished and houses the washer and dryer. The living room and dining area are in an open-concept type room, with the kitchen in the room over. The basement and one-car garage are accessible through the kitchen.
Both our green and blue, and blue and pink pastel, themed rooms have a queen bed and tons of classic, 1950s built-in storage. For those who need a dedicated workspace, the blue and pink room also has a beautiful antique desk.
The yard is small but cozy; it has green grass, trees, and shrubs on a corner lot with a small deck through the sliding door. The deck has a lot of shade and can be seen from the sidewalk and neighborhood.

Great fishing hunting and relaxation. 125 acre waterfront ranch. Lots of recreational opportunities. We have a boat launch on the property. From December through March, the area can get a decent amount of snow. 4WD is recommended. Limited assistance in the area.
Private road to the vacation house is plowed, usually after 9am the following morning of a snowfall. Snake River Road is plowed by the Baker County. Drive with caution, NO guardrails.

Easy Access to The Water Year Round’
Water levels on the property are managed by the Brownlee Reservoir Dam, which is controlled by Idaho Power. As a result, water levels can vary throughout the year. At times, the water may reach all the way up to the base of the stairs from the house, while at other times, at the lowest time of the year, it may recede 50+ feet away from the house.
Both conditions offer unique and wonderful benefits. When the water is high, it allows for convenient fishing directly from the dock. When the water is lower, guests enjoy an expansive beach area that’s perfect for beachcombing, letting the kids run, relaxing, or enjoying fires by the water’s edge.
Regardless of the water level, guests have excellent access to fishing and can enjoy recreational activities like kayaking, paddleboarding, and boating. If you plan to bring a boat, please check with us in advance to confirm whether it can be launched from the property.

You’ll also have access to the riverfront and private dock (seasonal water levels may affect direct access). Parking is available on-site, and overflow trailer parking is located across the road.

Our property is in a remote area, roughly 18 miles from the town of Huntington, Oregon.
Plan for a roughly 40-45 minutes to travel time from Huntington, OR to the Snake River House.
The last 13 miles of the trip will be on a gravel and/or dirt road. This road is serviced and well-maintained by Idaho Power so there should be no issues with travel.
We recommend taking your time on the final stretch as there are winds and turns. Avg speed on the final stretch is between 25 mph - 45 mph. Take your time and soak in the views. Trust me it is well worth the drive and the views will take your breath away!
