This is a fully renovated, private, lakefront home sitting high in the trees with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and comfortable sleeping for 5 guests. We named it the Owls Nuest as it feels you are cozy in a nest overlooking Lake Houston. Also owls symbolize good luck, helpfulness, wisdom and these are all things for which we strive.

This 670 sqft home sits on 15 ft stilts creating a large outdoor living space underneath with ample lighting for your outdoor enjoyment. The fenced in, oversized, shaded lot boasts large mature trees, a serenity bench and a lit up boat dock.

This home was completely renovated floor to ceiling in 2022. At that time, 3 brand new remote controlled, mini-split AC/heat systems were added making each room your perfect temperature. Each bedroom and the living room have their own remote controlled temperature control. Ceiling fans are found throughout the home.

The house sits approximately 15ft from the waters edge and the height above ground fully surrounded with windows makes it feel like you are in a treehouse hovering over Lake Houston. Upgraded indoor shutters allow you to block out the light when you want to sleep in or watch TV. The full glass front door and multitude of windows allow for breathtaking lake views from every room.

There is wifi throughout the home making it easy for those who work remote. In a no wake zone, with access to the main body of the lake makes Owls Nuest the perfect peaceful getaway for families, fishermen, friends and couples.

When you pull into the drive you will see the back side of the home 15 feet in the air. It is fully fenced in case you want to bring your pet to run outside. We have installed a pet station near the bottom of steps so cleaning up after Fido is a breeze.

Under the home is a nice large covered patio and outdoor dining table where guests spend most of their time enjoying the lake front view watching boats go by and pelicans diving for fish. We have a charcoal and gas grill you are welcome to use. We provide a fire pit for those nights you just want to sit outside by the lake with a fire.

Downstairs there is a full size washer and dryer should you need this during your stay. You will find an outdoor shower on backside of the laundry for those days you just got too dirty to come inside, or those evenings your feeling romantic.

When you walk up the stairs you will find a spacious patio perfect for morning coffee or a glass of wine watching the moon set over the water at night.

Walk through the front door into a cozy living room with a table top arcade boasting over 400 of the games we grew up playing (my favorite is still Pac man). Play all night if you want - no quarters required :-)

Living area has a comfy sofa and ceiling fan as well as remote control AC unit and smart TV with Netflix. A doggie bed, outdoor dog waterer and dog toys are available in the corner of living room for your dog. Please do not allow them on the furniture.

On the left is the modern kitchen with everything you need to cook nice meals at home. The kitchen island has seating for 2 and the dining nook/ sunroom is nestled in the trees overlooking the lake and seats 4 more. We also provide basic pantry items and many spices in the event you need something but don’t want to head to the store. There is even a liquor cabinet stocked with glasses - BYOL :-)

The bathroom has a beautifully tiled shower with full length glass doors (no tub). We have added a shelf to set your toiletry bags and a bookshelf holding soft fluffy towels. Indoor shutters cover the window for privacy or open for views of the lake an new marina nearby!

You will have access to the entire home, dock and fenced in lot adjacent to the Lake. Guests with boats are asked to drop your boat in just around the corner at the new Waterside Marina (see it from kitchen and bath windows) and tie your boat to our dock. Smaller ski boats and Bass boats are welcome to use the boat lift.

Above the boat lift is a newly built 550 sq ft sundeck (complete 3/13/2023) with two large lounge chairs to relax and soak up the sun. Tree covered outdoor patio furniture or use of the 10 ft tilt umbrella is the place to be when ready to escape the sun. From the upper deck you will enjoy waving to boaters and watching pelicans dive for fish. Extra wide upper rail provides a place to set your coffee or cocktail.

Between the Islands off to the right is a perfect place to pedal boat or kayak. The water is shallow so the motor boats do not go there. This area close to the wildlife preserve so it provides for great fishing and birdwatching.

Lifejackets (6) are provided and highly recommended while on pedal boat, kayaks or swimming. They are stored inside the dock closet. A throwable life preserver is located on front of dock. Extra bungee cords, tacklebox, outdoor games and are also in the closet if you want to use them. Bring your poles for excellent fishing right off the dock!

You will have access to our motorized kayak deck. The Automatic lift/ lower switch is on right side of kayaks. This allows you to lower the pedal boat or kayak partially into the water so you can easily back them into the water. Simply row or pedal back up onto platform and raise the deck when your journey is over. Please keep bungee cords secure on any items you’re not using to keep them from floating away. Please raise the platform to chest height before leaving.

This cozy home is pet friendly, family friendly, 15 minutes from George Bush Intercontinental airport, less than a mile from Wal-Mart, in a cute HOA protected community. The kitchen is equipped and ready, no need to eat out every night. Two full beds and twin bunk beds, open and spacious living area. Keurig, washer and dryer, large backyard, grill and space to relax out doors. If you can't be in your own home, this is the next best thing. No parties or events allowed.

The space
Our home is setup to *comfortably* house six people - not to squeeze them into every available inch. Beds for six people, living room seating (and throw blankets!!) for six, dining room seating for six, outdoor seating for six. The entire, full sized refrigerator is available for your use. The sink has a separate spigot for filtered water. We have dishes and silverware for both adults and children, plus some outdoor dishes if you want to use the grill, cooking supplies, baking supplies, a Keurig coffee maker, dishwasher (or dishsoap and a drying rack if that's easier). There is a TV in the kitchen with both an antennae connection and a Firestick. The living room has a Roku smart TV, both smaller bedrooms have Roku smart TVs and the master bedroom has a TV and Roku.

Guest access
We've got a coded lock on the front, and you should have your personal code emailed to you the day before check-in. Please contact us right away if you don't have a code the day of check-in.

We have a private driveway, and there is some street parking available if necessary. Please be considerate of neighbors when parking in the street. Unfortunately, the garage is currently unavailable for guests.

The one indoor security camera (in the living room) is disconnected, and physically blocked by a sign.

Air conditioner was great . The neighborhood was very quiet . My wife is an extremely light sleeper and said the only thing that woke her up was my snoring . We did have to keep the house colder to keep their side cooler . My BIL lives in New York and he felt the A/c was fine once we adjusted the A/c. We thought we had an issues with the shower, and the property manager showed up in less than 10 min ( turns out we just didn’t figure out something correctly ) to address it .The master bed is probably one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in . My wife didn’t feel me moving around which she usually complains about . Plenty of trash cans. The yard would have been great had we actually brought our dogs . It was nice and spacious . Would definitely stay here again ."

The space:
This home was completely remodeled in 2023. This is the most stylish home on the lake and the perfect place for family vacations.

You will have full access to the house. This house is a dedicated vacation house with all rooms available to guests.

The best part of the house is the 16 x 40 foot deck out back. It spans the whole back of the house with gorgeous patio doors and windows facing the lake. The hot tub has an unobstructed sunset view and views of the Houston city skyline. You can fish from our new dock or take the kayaks (2 provided) out for a paddle. The deck, dock, hot tub and fenced yard are the best places to enjoy the gorgeous views and lake breezes. Yard games (ladder ball, cornhole and petanque) are provided.

Downstairs are two private primary suites with private bathrooms. This layout is ideal for two families traveling together. Each 'couple' has a private bedroom and bathroom from the other guests.

Downstairs is a spacious open concept kitchen with all new appliances and leathered quartzite countertops. The kitchen, dining and living are all open concept and flow onto the deck which includes a hot tub, dining space for twelve, a grill and additional seating. In the living room you will find a bar area with mini fridge and a 65 inch smart tv. You can ask 'Alexa' to play your favorite music or log in to your own apps. There is also a half bath and garage access for laundry on this level.

Upstairs we offer a game room with foosball, board games and books. There are two guest rooms and a full bathroom with tub. This bathroom has a door between the sink and toilet/tub are for extra privacy. One bedroom is a bunk room; the bunk room has two twin bunk beds and sleeps 4. The other bedroom has a twin/twin pop up trundle and sleeps 2 people together as a king or separately. This 'trundle' room also has a wall mount tv. You can bring a video game console to play here.

Other things to note:
The neighborhood is quiet and secluded. You'll need to drive about ten minutes through a quiet neighborhood to get our lake house. We recommend stopping for groceries and fishing bait before you get here.

Feel free to bring you own boat and tie off overnight on our dock. You can also join the Facebook group "Lake House Party Boaters" to find a local who rents their personal boat.

The sunsets here are seriously the best! Did we mention you can see the Houston city skyline from the back deck and hot tub?

We love relaxing on the deck in the evenings, we know you will too.

Please know that this house is great for making memories with family and friends. However, this is NOT A PARTY HOUSE. Unauthorized guests are not allowed. We do not allow birthday parties or baby showers, etc over the number of authorized guests and also the number of cars must never exceed three cars at the house. This is to ensure peace for our wonderful neighbors.

***UPDATE: The stairs from the dock into the lake were damaged during Hurricane Beryl in July, 2024. We plan to replace the stairs as soon as possible. The dock is still safe and ready to enjoy.

Our waterfront home is at the end of a cul-de-sac in a very quiet neighborhood right on Lake Houston. The home has a "vacation vibe" as soon as you walk in - everyone says they feel so comfortable and right at home here. You will enjoy 4 spacious bedrooms, 2 full baths, a large gourmet chef's kitchen with double ovens, desk space, fast wifi, a cool outdoor game room/man cave, AND a spacious back deck with a full assortment of BBQ equipment! Our retreat has something for everyone to enjoy! All of the bedrooms upstairs have amazing lakefront views. This is a smart house with many modern features including voice control and multiple Amazon devices throughout the house. Two of the upstairs bedrooms have access to the upper level deck. Please note we also use the house part-time when it's not rented - as such the garage is not available. Because we also use the house part time - you will find it very well stocked - from dishwasher pods to bug spray to kitchen gadgets - we are set up for your stay!

Two kayaks are also available if you would like to explore the lake. You can swim from the dock, but no diving (it's shallow off the dock!) - you must use the stairs. Lake Houston is a hidden gem in the Houston area with several waterfront restaurants and lakeside activities!

***PLEASE NOTE: This peaceful retreat is a respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. While we are in a "town" and have very reliable cell/wifi servce - it still feels like a remote location. If flying in - you will need a car. Uber is not reliable in this area. DoorDash and UberEats are available, but be prepared to wait 45 min - 1 hour. We are at the very back of our neighborhood - it's a solid 10 minute drive to the house once you turn off the main road. We do have grocery stores, restaurants, etc - they are just at least 20 minutes away.

In town for a wedding? Our neighborhood is right next to The Barn at Four Pines Ranch and D'Gala Ranch and we have been honored to host many families coming in town for weddings!

• To keep the yard in great shape, our lawn care team visits every other week. They may stop by during your stay, but don’t worry – they’ll only be working outside and won’t take more than an hour to finish. Please note that this routine service is necessary and it’s hard to reschedule.

• This property includes a pool outside. Please understand that since the pool is outside in the garden, some leaves or debris from nature may fall into the pool. Rest assured that we do pool maintenance weekly and we remove all debris after every reservation. However, some debris may fall into the pool after we have cleaned it. Our swimming pool maintenance team will visit once a week to clean the pool and take care of any necessary upkeep. They might stop by during your stay, but please rest assured that they’ll only be working outside and won’t disturb you. The master bedroom is private on the first floor with a king bed and the bathroom boasts a double vanity, large frameless walk-in shower and Jacuzzi.

Upstairs has 3 bedrooms with queen beds and a game room area with a huge comfy couch. All upstairs guests can use the full bathroom with a double vanity and tub/shower.

The towels smelt sour as if they hadn't been washed/dried properly, and there were only 4 towels for a listing that says it sleeps 5. Only one of the three beds had a top sheet. One of the sinks in the master was spraying water everywhere no matter how little the faucet was turned on and neither of them drained well. The A/C was not functioning properly because the filter was completely covered in dirt. The backyard was overgrown and there were little bags of dog poo left on the porch."

Wolf Den is a 2024 Timberwolf mini-loft 16 sitting on private lakefront property with your own 12 x 20 pergola complete with ceiling fans and lights to keep it cool in the summer. You have access to a barbecue grill and 2 full size loungers to soak up the sun.

Next door is the Owl’s Nuest, which can also be rented for larger gatherings.

The space
This small one-bedroom lakefront home has a spacious living room with a high ceiling, and special loft area - while not formally a bedroom, this space is where our teenagers like to sleep! There’s a hotel-quality queen bed in the bedroom, and a queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room.

The screened-in patio, complete with large wall-mounted flat screen tv is comfortable in all temperatures thanks to the ceiling fans, addition free-standing fans, and propane heaters (depending on the weather).

The outdoor deck is spacious and comfortable, with Edison bulbs strung across for a cozy, romantic evening space.

As a bookstore owner, I’ve made some of my library available for reading during the stay (although the living room also has a large flat-screen smart TV for entertainment as well).

Owls Nuest is a modern 2 bedroom 1 bath home with comfortable sleeping for 5 just a few steps to the waters edge. Sitting high in the trees with a multitude of windows it feels like you are in a treehouse hovering over the lake.

Access to the entire home with arcade, pedal boat, 2 new kayaks on a motorized platform to lower into water, lifejackets, 550 sq ft sundeck with two large loungers, gas grill, fire pit, washer/dryer, outdoor shower, outdoor game, bikes and fenced in lot for doggie!

The space
Welcome to the Owls Nuest (pronounced “Nest” like “guest”). This is a fully renovated, private, lakefront home sitting high in the trees with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and comfortable sleeping for 5 guests. We named it the Owls Nuest as it feels you are cozy in a nest overlooking Lake Houston. Also owls symbolize good luck, helpfulness, wisdom and these are all things for which we strive.

This 670 sqft home sits on 15 ft stilts creating a large outdoor living space underneath with ample lighting for your outdoor enjoyment. The fenced in, oversized, shaded lot boasts large mature trees, a serenity bench and a lit up boat dock.

This home was completely renovated floor to ceiling in 2022. At that time, 3 brand new remote controlled, mini-split AC/heat systems were added making each room your perfect temperature. Each bedroom and the living room have their own remote controlled temperature control. Ceiling fans are found throughout the home.

The house sits approximately 15ft from the waters edge and the height above ground fully surrounded with windows makes it feel like you are in a treehouse hovering over Lake Houston. Upgraded indoor shutters allow you to block out the light when you want to sleep in or watch TV. The full glass front door and multitude of windows allow for breathtaking lake views from every room.

There is wifi throughout the home making it easy for those who work remote. In a no wake zone, with access to the main body of the lake makes Owls Nuest the perfect peaceful getaway for families, fishermen, friends and couples.

When you pull into the drive you will see the back side of the home 15 feet in the air. It is fully fenced in case you want to bring your pet to run outside. We have installed a pet station near the bottom of steps so cleaning up after Fido is a breeze.

Under the home is a nice large covered patio and outdoor dining table where guests spend most of their time enjoying the lake front view watching boats go by and pelicans diving for fish. We have a charcoal and gas grill you are welcome to use. We provide a fire pit for those nights you just want to sit outside by the lake with a fire.

Downstairs there is a full size washer and dryer should you need this during your stay. You will find an outdoor shower on backside of the laundry for those days you just got too dirty to come inside, or those evenings your feeling romantic.

When you walk up the stairs you will find a spacious patio perfect for morning coffee or a glass of wine watching the moon set over the water at night.

Walk through the front door into a cozy living room with a table top arcade boasting over 400 of the games we grew up playing (my favorite is still Pac man). Play all night if you want - no quarters required :-)

Living area has a comfy sofa and ceiling fan as well as remote control AC unit and smart TV with Netflix. A doggie bed, outdoor dog waterer and dog toys are available in the corner of living room for your dog. Please do not allow them on the furniture.

On the left is the modern kitchen with everything you need to cook nice meals at home. The kitchen island has seating for 2 and the dining nook/ sunroom is nestled in the trees overlooking the lake and seats 4 more. We also provide basic pantry items and many spices in the event you need something but don’t want to head to the store. There is even a liquor cabinet stocked with glasses - BYOL :-)

The bathroom has a beautifully tiled shower with full length glass doors (no tub). We have added a shelf to set your toiletry bags and a bookshelf holding soft fluffy towels. Indoor shutters cover the window for privacy or open for views of the lake an new marina nearby!

You will have access to the entire home, dock and fenced in lot adjacent to the Lake. Guests with boats are asked to drop your boat in just around the corner at the new Waterside Marina (see it from kitchen and bath windows) and tie your boat to our dock. Smaller ski boats and Bass boats are welcome to use the boat lift.

Above the boat lift is a newly built 550 sq ft sundeck (complete 3/13/2023) with two large lounge chairs to relax and soak up the sun. Tree covered outdoor patio furniture or use of the 10 ft tilt umbrella is the place to be when ready to escape the sun. From the upper deck you will enjoy waving to boaters and watching pelicans dive for fish. Extra wide upper rail provides a place to set your coffee or cocktail.

Between the Islands off to the right is a perfect place to pedal boat or kayak. The water is shallow so the motor boats do not go there. This area close to the wildlife preserve so it provides for great fishing and birdwatching.

Lifejackets are provided and highly recommended while on pedal boat, kayaks or swimming. They are stored inside the dock closet. A throwable life preserver is located on front of dock. Extra bungee cords, tacklebox, outdoor games and are also in the closet if you want to use them. Bring your poles for excellent fishing right off the dock!

You will have access to our motorized kayak deck. The Automatic lift/ lower switch is on right side of kayaks. This allows you to lower the pedal boat or kayak partially into the water so you can easily back them into the water. Simply row or pedal back up onto platform and raise the deck when your journey is over. Please keep bungee cords secure on any items you’re not using to keep them from floating away. Please raise the platform to chest height before leaving.
