- "Lovely Victorian home that is charmingly decorated. Our bedroom was the Jessica room and was very comfortable. There were very pleasant common areas, a nice three season porch, a living room, and parlor with a pool table. Also the dining room has a lovely dining table that can accommodate most of the guests in one sitting and we had a nice time chatting and getting to know the other visitors over breakfast. Our host served a fabulous breakfast, sausage, waffles, three fruit toppings, and real whipped cream! She was very friendly and accommodating. We truly enjoyed our stay and considered it a great value."

- "Knowing this was a newer listing, we weren’t exactly sure what to expect on arrival. However, once we were there, we loved every aspect! Plenty of room to spread out both inside and out. Inside: Open kitchen, dining area and family room was extremely functional for multiple people all enjoying time together. Each room had its own individual temperature control, which was beneficial for the wide range of needs for our family. Every comfort was attended to inside, including TVs in all rooms with plenty of viewing options for all ages. Outside: Multiple areas to relax and have some fun. Large fenced in yard so dog could run freely, flat for yard games and separate living space with pool table which made for relaxing escape. A bunch of nice touches for kids and adults alike. But our favorite was the peacefulness of the property as boat traffic was minimal, view was great, used the dock a number of times to tie up and take a break from being on the lakes with 24’ pontoon, fire-pit was out near water and very spacious. There were a few things that owner was still working on but that’s to be expected and is actually appreciated as they continue to upgrade the experience. Communication with owner was exceptional. Obviously, we thoroughly enjoyed the property and would highly recommend !"

Our 2021 Mallard by Heartland M180BH RV sleeps 4, it has an indoor shower/tub, kitchen has microwave, electric stove, sink and refrigerator with doodle station, corian countertops and silver and plasticware, cups, mugs and coffee maker included, dining set that folds into a sleeping area. One full queen size folding bed that turns into a couch and two full sized bunk beds. AC unit, electric heat, plenty of storage and lighting throughout, AM/FM radio with bluetooth, USB and HDMI ports, hydraulic awning and hitch lock systems. Propane tanks and gas hookup in unit, outside lights, party center with small fridge, sink and countertops located on the exterior of the unit and an extra outside shower provided on the exterior of the RV.

- "To start, there was already someone in our room when we got there. Then we were moved to a different room - which was opened with the same door code! The room was nothing like the photos shown in the Vrbo listing. No doorknob on bathroom door, a smoke alarm was chirping from inside a locked room for our entire visit, the internet was unreliable. A man opened our door while we were there. Obviously he was given the same door code. The beds were comfortable and the shower worked well, although the bathroom faucet was reversed, hot & cold. No rugs on the floor so salt and snow was unavoidably spread all over the room. The only lighting is overhead which is not conducive to a homey feel. Communication was poor, and response from the host was slow or nonexistent "

- "We needed a pet friendly place to stay for funeral. Rental was neat and clean and met our needs for two nights we were there. There were a few things that could be improved in this price range. There are no smart tv ‘s or cable and antenna went out often. Water had strong sulfur smell and beds were not the most comfortable. However, the home was very clean and nicely decorated. We didn’t really use kitchen or outdoor water area but they looked well appointed. So grateful we found somewhere so clean and quiet on fairly short notice."

In the spring from April 16th-June4th it runs on Saturday's from 10am-2pm and in the fall from October 1st-December 17th again on Saturday's from 10am-2pm.

-Pet fee of $100 for up to 2 dogs (no puppies or dogs younger than 1 1/2 years, no cats or other animals, double the fee if dogs not registered).
- Dogs cannot be left unattended outside or inside unless they are crated inside.
- Please, Please, Please pick up all dog waste, put in tied plastic bag and put in garbage. Additional fee if not.
- No obsessive dog barking.
BATHROOMS:
“Dark” wash clothes are available to use when removing make-up. Please do not use the white clothes.
-Please be careful with hair in sinks and only toilet paper in the toilet. (I know, sounds crazy but need to say it) 😉
KITCHEN:
- Dishwasher is for your use but only run the dishwasher while you are home in case there is ever a leak.

- "John and Layla are terrific owners - great to communicate with. Wonderful property for many reason including parking for many cars. The house is VERY clean, kitchen well stocked with almost every pan you would need. Including items you don’t often get such as spices cooking spray, plastic bags and wrap/ foil, and so much more, GREAT internet connection! The beds and bedding were well above the norm. The king bed was so comfortable I didn’t miss my sleep number ! And, our adult children said the same about the three queen rooms. The bunk room was not conducive for big teenage boys- The outside “stuff” was plentiful ping pong, foosball, air hockey, kayaks, rowboat, & Canoe- And more. We rented the pontoon boat, which made a world of difference because the lake is very small. I should’ve paid more attention to the details listed about the property- The house access to the lake is a bit of a challenge for anybody with even slight mobility challenges Inside stairs going from the main floor to the basement and Lake access have approx 12 steps. From the basement there are 20 steps down to the lake that only have a railing on one side- Finally, the quiet hour definition that included the screened in porch is a challenge when you have 7 teenagers between 14 and 17. Essentially we had to go in the house at 9 and with only one TV in basement it was difficult to find a place for a large group ( 12) to gather at night."

Guests will be able to access all parts of the inside and outside of the home. The only interior inaccessible part of the home is the utility closet for the cleaning and spa company to store supplies. On the outside, the deck, patio and pier is accessible to the guest.

Our driveway only fits 4 small or mid size cars, or 2 SUV/Trucks at a time. You can get to most of the popular Chain O` Lakes spots within 10 minutes in either direction. There is plenty of Uber or Lyfts in the area if you need to get around without a car. Want to go visit the city? The Metra train station is several minutes away by car.

Bring your fishing gear. There is good fishing in the Bay and in channels. Our kids catch large bass, catfish, bluegill and perch right off our pier in the back yard.

This is a popular house for Naval families to visit and cheer on their boot camp grads since it is only a half hour from the Great Lakes Naval base.

This home is designed safe and secure, and is equipped with a Smart Dead Bolt lock that controls check in and check out times, and has a door camera feature to make sure the correct guests are entering our home. All for your safety and to protect our home.

The driveway is smaller and can hold (4) small to midsize cars MAX, or 2 larger trucks or SUV`s tight. The entrance road and its an old tight road. Be careful pulling in and out of the driveway. Pull in and out very slow. If at all possible have other guests help you back out.

Over the past twelve years, we have successfully hosted guests at our two other vacation rental properties in Puerto Rico. We are now using that knowledge base to provide you a seasoned experience at our newest property (a bit closer to home) here in Fox Lake. The main and open body of Lake Pistakee is the largest of the Chain O' Lakes with an area of over 1,700 acres and is only a mere 50 foot trip down our canal. This is your gateway to the larger access of the greater Chain O' Lakes area. Enjoy fishing, swimming, tubing, water skiing, kayaking, canoeing or a tranquil moonlight cruises on the water. Dine at one of the many area restaurants that also provide boat access, enjoy a horse ride at one of several nearby stables or look into the amenities of one of the numerous marinas.

When you arrive, there is 2 free parking spaces just for you. They are clearly marked with yellow/black parking spaces behind the house.

This is in the heart of Fox Lake and a long walk from the Fox Lake downtown area, but definitely a 2 minute drive to the stores, movies, restaurants, etc.

Bring your fishing gear. There is good fishing in the Bay. Our kids catch large bass, catfish, bluegill and perch right off our pier in the back yard.

This is a popular house for Naval families to visit and cheer on their boot camp grads since it is only a half hour from the Great Lakes Naval base.

This home is designed safe and secure, and is equipped with a Smart Dead Bolt lock that controls check in and check out times, and has a door camera feature to make sure the correct guests are entering our home. All for your safety and to protect our home.

Garbage day is on Wednesdays. If you are staying with us overnight on a Tuesday, please take the garbage and recycle cans out to the end of the road for the Wednesday morning garbage truck.

The driveway is smaller and can hold (2) full size cars MAX, or 1 larger trucks or SUV`s tight. The entrance road and its an old tight road. Be careful pulling in and out of the driveway. Pull in and out very slow. If at all possible have other guests help you back out.

- "I didn’t stay on the houseboat we left and got a room. There was no running water or bathroom on the boat. The toilet and shower was a distance away. This is something that should be disclosed on VRBO site just so people can be aware of conditions. The water was very choppy and we were unable to relax too much noise from boat hitting against the dock I guess that’s what we heard. I expected some movement but it was wayyyy too much."

- "My husband, daughter and I stayed at this home for 5 days, 4 nights. This is such a lovely home! It is well stocked with kitchen accessories, nice absorbant bath towels, and even extra stock of toilet paper. I can not say that's the case for homes I've rented before! The beds are very comfortable, as well. We BBQ'd all our dinners, and that was easy with the great gas grill. We ate our meals on the upper deck, enjoying the beautiful view! Our main reason for this trip, and why this house was perfect, was to fish! We caught Bluegill, Catfish and Largemouth bass- and all returned into the water! With three fishing poles, having the space to cast and not getting wires crossed, was so great! I can not recommend this house enough. Comfortable, well stocked, and the views... it's a home away from home that you will not want to leave! Id love return next summer!"

The Yacht sleeps up to 4 guests with two bedrooms (one queen, one room with two small twins), a queen sized futon, a dinette that converts to another queen bed, one bathroom*, a kitchenette, and living space.

The Yacht sits on the gorgeous shoreline of Petite Lake, which is part of the Chain O'Lakes. Sitting atop the yacht, the sunrise from the east is breathtaking. Mornings on the lake are peaceful and serene. By the afternoon, the lake becomes active with boats, fishing, and beach fun.

The beach and large rooftop deck provide different places to relax on land with plenty of free amenities. The rooftop deck overlooks the lake and has comfortable patio furniture, a grill, griddle and tiki bar. There is a mini refrigerator on the rooftop deck for Yacht guests to use while grilling and hanging out to lessen the need for coming and going from the boat.

The beach is on the other side of the pier, which provides a great sandy swimming area and lots of activities. All free- you have access to kayaks, paddle boards, canoes, water volleyball, a floating picnic table, piers for fishing, and lots of floats and other water toys. Life jackets of all sizes are available, except for infants. Please bring life jackets that fit infants and small children.

*There's a marina bathroom with a large shower stall, toilet, and storage at the end of the pier on shore. This restroom is private to yacht guests. Toilets on the Yacht are not to be used. Sinks and showers on the boat can be used as normal.

*The kitchenette consists of a dual coffee maker with a standard drip pot and a Keurig side, a microwave, double sink, and a mid-sized fridge and freezer. A starter case of bottled water is provided. We recommend bringing and cooler and ice for beverages or extra storage space. Coffee, sugar, and powdered creamer are supplied along with plates, cups and basic kitchen supplies.

*This is a 40-foot 1985 Carver 3607 Aft Cabin Yacht. It stays on the pier at all times and cannot be driven by renters.

*The pier is directly connected to our beach front. Safe area for swimming and access to FREE kayaks, paddle boards, floats, canoes, sand toys, life jackets and a floating picnic table. We also have rental boats available!

*There is a large staircase of about 35 stairs to get to/from the parking lot. See pictures for a better idea!

*The pier is made up of floating docks. They can be wobbly, especially when the lake is active. There is a lot of activity on weekends, especially late morning/afternoons. Mornings, nights and weekdays are slower.

*There are security cameras on the parking lot, beach and piers for safety and rental boat purposes. No cameras are on/in any of the rental units or outdoor yard spaces.

*The yacht is docked on our pier directly on Petite Lake, which is part of the Chain O'Lakes. Waves and movement should be expected along with the wildlife that accompanies lake life. Our peninsula is surrounded by the water, a forest and a swamp. You will see all kinds of fish, spiders, bugs, ducks, cranes, raccoons, chipmunks, muskrats, otters, squirrels, and much more!

*If you are sensitive to motion, this may not be the best option. We have several other rentals available on the property- feel free to reach out about availability.

- "The 3 of us stayed on the yatch for the wrekend. Very cool experience. David is a fantastic host - professional, detailed, accessible and recommended restaurants and things to do verbally and in text message. We didnt rent a boat ahead of time but found David had one for rent after we arrived. There was an issue with the boat which prevented us from being able to go out. BUT, David went above and beyond not just condidtently communicating how the repair was proceding but actually calling another rental place and recommending a couple others. After his boat was repaired he offered to comp us a few hours if we wanted to extend our stay to take the boat out on our last day. Beach was smaller but private and no lack of things to do. We enjoyed the kayaks, canoes, stand up paddle boards and other toys included in the stay. Awesome balcony area overlooking Petitie lake. Close to restaurants. David's recommendation for Antioch Pizza hit the mark. 5 stars!!! Thanks David"

- "Staying in the Round Lake Beach area to visiting family. Room is great and clean. Pretty view of Fox Lake. Only draw back is it is over a bar. Karaoke comes right up through the floor. Not to much of a problem as the bar closes at 11:00. So just have to suffer through the drunken super star want a be singers. It is good for some laughs. ★Your safety is our top priority, which is why we have installed security cameras in the corridors, common areas, and around the outside of the property. These cameras help ensure a safe and secure environment for all of our guests.

★Our building has a lively atmosphere due to the brewery on the first floor, which we encourage you to check out during your stay. The brewery is closed on Mondays, but open from 3-11pm on Tuesdays to Thursdays, 1-12pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 12-7pm on Sundays. We're proud to offer a unique and exciting experience for our guests.

Next to the house are several decks to lounge on and a fire pit. There is also a Hot Tub House with a tub built for 6, heated floors, and a large sitting area.

One bedroom has 1 queen size bed and a futon bed while the other has a queen size and a single bed which accommodate 6 people. Upgraded bathrooms with ceramic tile and all glass showers, new vanities and sinks, and even a claw foot porcelain tub are for your comfort and enjoyment. There are hardwood floors through-out most of the house.

Use our Wi-Fi to stay connected if you’d like; otherwise, take a break and enjoy one of our foosball table, Nintendo Classic loaded with 100+ games, family board or card games! Head outside to take advantage of our paddle boat, (2) 10' kayaks, or just fish right off our pier, or just relax & take in the beauty of the lake from the deck and NEW hardscaped patio & fire pit area. With all our lake house has to offer, you'll never want to leave!

Guest access
Guests will be able to access all parts of the inside and outside of the home. The only interior inaccessible part of the home is the utility closet for the cleaning and spa company to store supplies. On the outside, the deck, patio and pier is accessible to the guest.

The hot tub on the deck will only be accessible to guests that elect or request to use it. There is a $80 maintenance fee for using the hot tub. The fee is good for your entire stay. (Subject to winter closures if freezing air temps of icing occurs)

Other things to note
Bring your fishing gear. There is good fishing in the Bay and in channels. Our kids catch large bass, catfish, bluegill and perch right off our pier in the back yard.

This is a popular house for Naval families to visit and cheer on their boot camp grads since it is only a half hour from the Great Lakes Naval base.

This home is designed safe and secure, and is equipped with a Smart Dead Bolt lock that controls check in and check out times, and has a door camera feature to make sure the correct guests are entering our home. All for your safety and to protect our home.

Garbage day is on Thursdays. If you are staying with us overnight on a Wednesday, please take the garbage and recycle cans out to the end of the road for the Thursday morning garbage truck.

The driveway is smaller and can hold (4) small to midsize cars MAX, or 2 larger trucks or SUV's tight. The entrance road and its an old tight road. Be careful pulling in and out of the driveway. Pull in and out very slow. If at all possible have other guests help you back out.

The space
This 3700+ square feet home will give you warm and comfortable feeling during the whole stay. Front yard has enough of space to park 5 cars. Also it has a basketball hoop (the balls are in the garage).
The open kitchen and dinning area offers a spectacular views of the lake.

During the summer stay: Spend a day on the water (fishing, swimming). Bring your own boat or we can provide you on information on renting one. Visit Chain O'Lakes state parks, ride a horses, play golf, ride you bike on the bike trails, visit local restrains. Or just relax on the patio watching activities on the lake.

During the winter stay: Winter Fishing, Ice skating, snowmobiling. Great cross county skiing trails at the Chain O'Lakes park.

The contract will be provided upon arrival.

Other things to note
- Illegal activities shall not be tolerated.
- Fireplace is to be used with much caution and kept clean if used.
- Observe checkout and check in times, as guests my be arriving and departing on the same day.
- Wash dishes.
- All trash must be disposed of in a bags and cans. - - - There are two cans in the garage one for recycling and the other for regular.
- All windows and doors must be locked when leaving. Home should be locked at all times.
- All toys used should be returned to original location.
- Entire property and grounds must be kept clean throughout the stay. Trash must be taken care of at all time. No littering. Please recycle. Do not leave garbage out at night because raccoons will tear bags and make mess.
- When checking out, check out all electrical appliances and grill and make sure all are off.
- SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK. No lifeguard at this home. Children are never to be left unattended on the premises. Children are never to be left in the fire pit area on their own. No Diving from the pier due to shallow waters.
- There is two storage rooms in the home that is locked. This is not provided to the guest.

With two living rooms, multiple decks, a lakeside boathouse party room, and over an acre of lakefront, this 5BR+ home comfortably hosts up to 16 guests (20 with the Bunkhouse). From cozy game nights to sunset paddles, every detail has been thoughtfully curated for relaxation, fun, and connection.

Flexible check-in + checkout times. Smart locks for easy no contact entry. Option for in-person orientation to the property.

From April thru October, access the Boathouse party room, kayaks and paddle board.

Parking for 4 vehicles in paved driveway in front of the garage + two more on white gravel drive.

The barn will be locked and not accessible during your stay, and landscaping equipment will be stored away in the garage. Two owners closets will also be locked.

Other things to note
*This is not a home for parties; but is ideal for large family groups and celebrations (max = 16, or 20 when Bunkhouse is open).* This is a quiet area on a private lake, perfect for responsible adults to connect and make special lakefront memories. We welcome guests back for annual visits, and offer returning group discounts.

If you want more than the kayaks and paddleboard provided for use on our lake -- you can rent pontoon boats, Waverunners, Jetskis and Hydrobikes from nearby rental businesses on Fox Lake. Six Flags Great America is also just 20 minutes down the road. College graduations in Chicago or Milwaukee are only an hour away. Graduations at the Great Lakes Naval Station are just 25 minutes away. Other local attractions include: Lake Villa Metra Station (commuter train to Chicago), 7 minutes; Antioch antiques and main street, 15 minutes; Wilmot Ski and Tubing Mountain, 25 minutes; and Lake Geneva, 45 minutes.

RESPECT FOR NEIGHBORS
Our neighbors on either side of us are lovely and have their own private piers and shoreline. Please respect their property and stay entirely within our very large shoreline and pier area and stay entirely off of and away from theirs. The boundary of our Lakefront is set off by two benches, one on the Northside and one on the Southside of our property line. THANK YOU!

HOT TUB RENTAL OPTION
The hot tub is available to rent year round through "Chillntub", a local family-run business, starting at $349 for a weekend + $150 heating fee or $399 for the week + $200 heating fee; additional options include the hot tub "surround" deck you see in our photos. You can check out their website for direct booking and to ensure availability on your dates. Or reach out to me, and we'll get you set up asap. Note: hot tub availability is *not* guaranteed until we confirm your dates directly with Chillntub and your deposit with them is paid. If rented, the hot tub will be heated and ready for use on Day 1 of your arrival.

BOAT SLIP AND COMMUNITY BEACH
If you'd like to bring your own boat and tie it up to our private pier, there is a private boat launch just two properties down. Please let us know if you plan to bring your boat, so we can meet you to unlock the launch gate; you can then back your trailer down the launch, set your boat in the lake from there, and then store your trailer in our white stone driveway during your stay. There is also a small community beach at the launch, as well.
