- "We had a great stay! The adjustable beds were a definite plus. The house is super cute and comfortable. We enjoyed the lake view very much, watching all the ducks was very peaceful. And the development was super quiet. Great communications as far as directions, checking in & out, where to leave the trash, etc. There were just a few small details that could use improvement. A good frying pan would have been helpful, the ones that were provided needed serious cleaning. Luckily I was able to reach out to a friend who was staying with us and they were able to bring a pan from home. The inside of the stove needs cleaning. There were only 2 wash cloths for 4 people, no dishtowel, no extra trash bags and only 1 dishwasher detergent pod. (we did the dishes by hand) That being said, we would definitely stay here again, it wouldn't be enough to keep us from booking again, we would just make sure to bring more ammenities with us next time. My only real complaint, which is also an easy fix, is to make sure the shower floor is rinsed thoroughly after cleaning. Whatever was used left the shower floor super slippery. This could have caused a major injury instead of just a sore hip and knee. But again, the house is super cute, it has a great porch and comfortable beds. We would definitely stay here again. "

You could enjoy this at the cafe or return to your room with a basket and eat in privacy. The rooms are clean and enough towels and toiletries were provided to last several days. The room included a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The had plenty of blankets and the pillowes are substantial, not those flimsy puffs of air you get at some hotels. We took advantage of the close proximity of all the shops Smithville had to offer by walking for hours and then enjoyed dinner at Fred and Ethels later that night. We would love to return to this Inn again!"

The space is complete with fresh towels, linens, toiletries, and snacks. There is a full kitchen as well as a grill. Open the glass door to a wonderful large screened porch to read, nap, enjoy a cup,or eat outdoors. The backyard faces the beautiful National Edwin B. Forsythe Nature Refuge. A true gem!

The Shire House - 1,000 sq. ft. Retreat

The vibrant, newly constructed Shire House is a clean, bright, and welcoming 2-bedroom, 1.5-bathroom hideaway, perfect for families or small groups. It features a queen bed, bunk bed, and twin bed for optimal comfort. The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with high-end appliances, cookware, and dishes, plus we provide six fresh eggs from our chickens to kickstart your stay. Thoughtful cabinetry and ample storage blend modern style with functionality, while the open layout promotes interaction and a relaxed, energized atmosphere.

For dining, there's a four-seat round dining table, plus three barstools at the kitchen counter.

The living room opens to a spacious, covered rear deck with four hanging egg chairs and additional seating, all overlooking a peaceful wooded sanctuary. This tranquil space invites relaxation, where you can listen to birds sing and watch deer wander through the trees. Step into the woods and wonder down the walking trail, leading to a wide-open dog park for your furry friend to enjoy. Surrounded by nature, this serene retreat offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle, providing safety and peace for both you and your canine companion.

Swan Lake Resort spans 160 acres and features a 30-acre fishing lake. While it’s a housing community, not a cabin in the woods, it offers plenty of natural beauty and amenities. Enjoy cleared walking trails, a great picnic area near the dam, and the calming sounds of nature that will melt away your stress. The walking trails loop back to a charming, covered bridge.

For fitness enthusiasts, we have a state-of-the-art gym, open from 5 AM to 10 PM. Access to the gym is included with your stay, and an access code will be provided.

Planning an event? Consider renting our lakefront hall, which seats up to 100 guests and includes a caterer's kitchen.

We also offer a variety of spa treatments (available for an additional fee and by appointment), such as facials, massages, and Reiki available in the spa area and in your cabin.

Maintaining a peaceful, quiet atmosphere for our guests is very important to us. To ensure that, we limit the number of guests in the home to 8 at any time (both inside and outside). We do not allow large gatherings or parties at the cabin.

Billie’s on the water: The studio includes tributary views, a stocked kitchenette (fridge, microwave, griddle ,coffee maker, toaster air fryer& a crockpot) NO STOVE/OVEN and is full of natural light. The private brand new deck has a table and chairs for dining/relaxing on. The sunset views are spectacular.
There’s a smart TV with WIFI.
Steps to the Mottscreek Inn for dockside dining & live music or fishing off their pier! Don’t forget to pack mosquito spray!
I have 3 private docks in my backyard for excellent crabbing and fishing. Port Republic swimming park is 4.8 miles away. Parking for 1-2 cars. If needed I have a long driveway for vehicles with boat trailers. I do not have a boat ramp, but if you’re looking to drop in Port Republic has a free ramp into Nacote Creek which winds around to Motts Creek, where you can use my docks. For a fee, you can also use chestnut Creek boat yard close to my house.
Please note that this is a fisherman’s wharf community. I take pride in it being clean and comfortable but it is not brand new!

The studio is behind a main house that is for my own private use so it will never be rented out.
The studio is a tiny house with one great room, so there is NO separate kitchen or bedroom .
If you’re looking for a luxurious place, this is not it. It is clean and comfortable with basic amenities with a small stand-up shower.
Unlike a local hotel/motel, I am often able to provide an early check-in or late checkout, depending on the tightness of my schedule. I typically know if this is possible the day before check-in.

Other things to note
Provided for you are linens, pillows, toilet paper, towels/wash clothes for showering, dishes, silverware, charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal) . I have grilling utensils., a toaster, air fryer, electric griddle, crockpot and classic drip coffee pot with filters and Keurig.. Sorry there is no stove/oven but there are many wonderful restaurants/eateries close by. To be transparent, the shower is small and the neighborhood has a fisherman‘s Wharf feel.
I provide a clean, comfortable studio with basic amenities ( much more than a local motel would provide) in a safe neighborhood.

The space
Here you have a studio apartment under our main house on pylings. The space is cozy and clean. It has a full kitchen and gorgeous huge new tile shower. The back yard faces acres of a natural bird & wildlife sanctuary. The property is not fancy. It is simple and in fact magical. The grounds sometimes get damp being so close to the water and sometimes the swans will bug you for treats... so if this bothers you, we are not it. If you are people that want to get away from daily stress, kick back and relax , you have found the right place. We are also pet friendly (they are family too!). Peaceful & quiet but close to the LBI beaches and many bars/restaurants. We are also just a few minutes away (by car) to Manahawkin, the hub of stores such as Shop Rite, Costco, BJ's, Target, & Best Buy. We give you your space and keep to ourselves unless you need or want more interaction. Also, summer is coming... We do not expect you to tiptoe around. This is your vacay. Stay up late by the firepit laughing out loud. Thats what life is about! Welcome

The Historic Mott’s Creek Inn is right next door for dockside dining with live music on the weekend. The Fishing Pier is on the other side of the Inn. Watch both working Baymen boats and Pleasure boats go up and down the crick and out to Great Bay.

Port Republic Beach is just 10 min. away and beach tags are provided for our guests use.
We are within close proximity to the Garden State Parkway, Atlantic City, and the stunning South Jersey beaches and boardwalk and if nightlife is your thing , Casino lounges and Beach Bars are just a short drive away.
We are surrounded by The Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge and the Main Entrance for walking trails is just 9 minutes away . According to their website, there have been over 300 species of birds observed and documented in this area. We are located directly in the National Flyway Zone and on any given day numerous types of waterfowl can be spotted off our dock.
