Located directly on a lake but in a country setting, it is only 10 minutes from downtown Madison Wisconsin, 20 minutes from the airport, and 2 hours from Chicago's O'Hare airport. Lake Waubesa is one of the four lakes in Madison, known as the best fishing lake. Barbecue and relax on the deck while being secluded from the wind! Enjoy fabulous morning sunrises over the lake.

The log cabin is located on the lake. One level ranch has 2 bedrooms and a full bathroom. One bedroom has a queen bed. The 2nd bedroom has a bunk bed with a full bed and twin bed on the top. There is a large living room with lake views. Enjoy eating at the table while looking at the lake. Everything you will need to make your stay complete is provided, from linens, towels, a washer and dryer and condiments in the pantry.

We have a kitchen that is fully equipped with cooking and service ware for up to eight guests as well as new appliances. Plenty of pots and pans, dishwasher, microwave, coffeepot, and toaster to make eating in easy.

There is a window air conditioner and many ceiling fans for the summer and if you are staying in the winter we have heat throughout.

The boat launch is 2 minutes away. For our guests we have canoe. We just added a rustic wood 65 foot pier for our guests use(will be in the water from June to August). Most everyone just walks right in at the lake front to swim. The lake bottom is rocky and/or sandy.

Relax in the living area perfect for lake views, or sit outside on the deck, patio or pier.

The yard is level and just steps away from the lake and is enjoyable when you grill or relax with an evening campfire in the firepit. The long dock is perfect for sunning, fishing or launching a canoe or kayak. You may wish to bring your own boat and launch it from nearby boat launches. The pier can be used to dock your boat during your stay. Please note that the pier is generally available from late April to mid-October. Two single person kayaks and a peddle boat are available for use as well as water tubes and inflatables(at your own risk).

During the winter months, cross country ski or snow shoe right from the back door. The lake is also a popular ice fishing spot.

The open kitchen/living area is perfect for family gatherings. A large dining table has comfortable seating for six - eight.

The first-floor bedroom features a queen size bed and large closet. A bathroom with shower and laundry appliances are directly across the hall.

Upstairs includes two large bedrooms (one with queen bed overlooking the lake!), built-in dressers and many closets. And a “kids” room upstairs features a twin bed and double bed, Playstation4, and children’s books.

This is a family home in a community of single family residences. We require a minimum age of 25 years for rental. This is not a party home. A campground is 10 minutes away to share with friends

The neighborhood is super quiet and away from everything. We enjoyed mornings on the dock and evenings around the fire pit. NO PARTIES. You will be asked to leave if there is any party activity seen.

My two bedroom home has one king bed and a bunk bed with a trundle bed. There is also sleeping space on the pull out couch in the living room. The home has a view out the back of a channel of water. There is Roku TV (no cable) in the living room and main bedroom. I also have a fully equipped kitchen with coffee and tea. There is not central air in the home, only window AC units and ceiling fans. Pets are NOT allowed. Smoking is NOT allowed. Only two vehicles are allowed.

- "Overall very good experience! The beds were comfy. The kitchen was well equipped. The bathroom was nice. The shower has a good amount of pressure and can get nice and hot. I would stay there again." - "The property was clean, however the outdoor space is very overgrown, so not really useable. I appreciated the ability to park off the street. The listing said it had a washer and dryer, however they are not accessible. When I asked the owner on the day we arrived, we never heard back. Now the listing says they are available with an additional fee. The beds were very soft - not my favorite, but if you like a soft bed, you've got it. There are plenty of sheets and towels available for use, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The Roku TV was helpful when the connection didn't fail (which happened multiple times). The location is not on the water, but it's not far at all. About a 5-10 minute drive to multiple bodies of water and great parks and restaurants. Check in and check out were super easy. All in all, this place served it's purpose for my son and I. We had a clean place to sleep."

Enjoy your one-bedroom home on a half-acre lot near Lake Waubesa. This second story 1100 square foot property was built in 2021 with quality interior finishes. It includes a beautiful kitchen that offers granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and is fully furnished for your cooking needs. There is a large 300 square foot bedroom with a king size bed, and bunk beds that have a twin mattress on top and full mattress on the bottom. There are only 2 adults allowed with up to three children, and there are no pets allowed. The garage is used for the owner's personal storage and usage, but there is parking available outdoors for the tenant. The owner also occasionally works around the outside of the property in the woods. Fire pit area is for owner use only. Short-term permit number 2022-13

- "The house was very nice, clean, chic and modern. We really enjoyed our stay there and can recommend it unreservedly. A small "problem" was that we ordered something online but UPS couldn't find the address to deliver to. Maybe that could be improved. Everything else was really great." - "I was in the Madison area to take care of a few things since relocating, including visiting with friends. This property was just what the doctor ordered! Everything I needed to be able to work peacefully and efficiently was here, including USB cords for a monitor and keyboard (wish I hadn't schlepped my own!) Brian was very responsive and even had my check in information to me well in advance of my arrival. This was huge as I arrived on a red-eye and didn't want to worry about check in. The property is new, off of the beaten trail, well decorated and stocked. Plus I had a washer and dryer! Only a few minor feedback items for consideration 1.) To have a cozy blanket or two for the living room furniture would be great (it was chilly and the furniture is leather) and 2.) having a Keurig as well as coffee pot (or French Press) would be perfection. Since I was flying solo, I just wanted "a" cup of coffee at a time. Overall excellent stay and I'm sure I'll be back on my own or with my family!"

Welcome to our one-of-a-kind boho and rustic getaway with a rich history nestled in McFarland on an inlet that connects to Yahara River and Lake Kegonsa (house is not directly on lake or river). This unique home is situated next to a charming campground and marina in nature. Walkable fishing areas. Lake Kegonsa State Park Trail is nearby for walking or snowshoeing. Just a 15 minute drive to Madison! NO PARTIES. You will be asked to leave if there is any party activity seen. Must be at least 25 years old to book. Dog must be approved prior.

My home is in a rural residential area of McFarland. My home has one king bed. There is also sleeping space on the pull out couch in the living room.

*Please note the bathroom is connected to the bedroom. To access the bathroom guests will have to walk through the bedroom.*

There is a large Roku TV (no cable TV-wifi only) in the living room and bedroom. The home has a kitchenette equipped with all the essentials including coffee and tea. Home has central air.

Only two vehicles are allowed.

Guests have access to entire house, except for back storage area. You may fish on the piers behind the house in the summer months. Do not walk on piers past where the RV trailers begin. Do not walk on campground or campsites as it is private property and I don't own it. The owners will ask you to leave if you're on their property. Ice fishing is not allowed on the inlet. Guests are not allowed to walk on piers in winter months. Guests are not allowed to walk on ice. Please do not throw rocks on ice or water as it may cause damage to boats and props.

Do not leave grill unattended. Please put cover back on grill when not using. We happily offer the grill for your enjoyment at no extra charge. Please note, if more than 50% of the propane tank is used during your stay, a $35 refill fee will be applied. Thank you for your understanding!

Only one dog allowed. A dog is NOT allowed without approval prior to booking. If you are interested in bringing your dog please let us know so we can discuss compatibility and options. Only a housebroken dog is allowed (sorry if your dog requires puppy pads or equivalent they are not allowed). Our insurance policy requires us to prohibit the following breeds: Akita, American Staffordshire Terrier (pitbull), Chow, Presa Canario, Rottweiler, Sharpei, Wolf Hybrid Mix, or mixed primarily with a listed breed). Dog must be less than 50lbs. A dog that barks excessively is not allowed as there are others on the property. Dog must be on a leash while on the property at all times. Dog waste must be picked up immediately and thrown away in dumpster. Dog is not allowed on any furniture (bed, sofa, etc.) We ask that you keep your dog crated if leaving them unattended while you're away.

Boats and boat trailers are not allowed. We do not have a launch for kayaks, canoes, etc. There is a state of the art kayak launch just around the corner at Fish Camp County Park! Please let us know if you're planning on bringing any water equipment.

Additional guests that are not on the reservation are not allowed on the property. Visitors are not allowed on the property.

All types of tailers are not allowed on the property.

This house is very strict on loud parties. Quiet hours are from 10pm-8am. Other people live on the property and there are neighbors so please keep voices low and music at a respectful volume.

Copy of government issued ID for each guest may be required to book. This is an adults only property. Max of 2 guests per fire code.

Everywhere you look there are great places to gather as well as places to get away. The large gathering spaces include Chefs kitchen with double ovens breakfast bar and eat in area/ kids table!

Our favorite and most used spot is the incredible 25x12 screened deck/living room with L-shaped couch, recliners and a dining table for 6, you’ll enjoy morning coffee as the day gets started, pause the fun for a quick lunch before getting back to the lake and relax with a glass of wine after dinner watching the sun go down!

Other great spots to congregate are:

INDOORS
-a massive game room with pool table, arcade games and a movie screen kids and kids at heart will have a blast in here!!

-the intimate dining room that seats 12 for dinner as you watch the sun go down from the wall of windows

-the downstairs family room with enormous sofa with room for 10-12 with 65in TV.

-the upstairs living room with cozy fire place between the kitchen and the screened porch

OUTDOORS
-large fenced and manicured yard. Its wide open and great for kids and dogs to run. We provide a slip and slide, bocce ball and other games for you and your family to enjoy! Dont miss the 35 foot rope swing- just be careful and use at your own risk.

-2 huge wrap around decks one with sun loungers and the other with a seating area

-Lakeside dock featuring a bench, plenty of room to gather, views both directions up and down the lake, a paddle board, lake toys for the kids and a lilly pad for you to use. The lake bottom is mostly sandy, but there are some rock. They are generally not sharp, but there are water shoes provided for kids if you want them.

-finally my favorite- a firepit tucked away in the woods facing the lake with adirondack chairs for 8. (Remember no noise after 10pm please).

Your group will never run out of fun things to do together after a day on the lake!!

-BEDROOM SET UP

Theres plenty of room to sleep everyone with a flexible set up.

Starting with the super lux top level master suite. Large 18x14 Bedroom has a king bed fireplace and walk in closet. doors lead to private screened deck with a lounger and sitting area, bathroom is luxurious featuring a soaking tub overlooking lake and a separate shower.

Top floor also includes a second bedroom or nursery with bunks that works great for a family, or shut the doors and keep the primary suite to yourself!!.

Main level has a bedroom with queen bed, a full bathroom, and an office with a queen bed.

Walk-out lower level has 2 more bedrooms both with stunning lake views, that share another full bath. One has a queen bed, the other has a twin loft bed over a queen.

Home features too much to list, but includes- 2 laundry rooms, , access to a boat lift (extra fee), paddle board, fire pit area, etc. Pets are ok, but dogs must be walked or picked up after immediately if they go in the yard. 4 Vehicle maximum on site 2 in garage, 2 in driveway. If you bring a trailer, that counts as a vehicle. NO ON STREET PARKING!! This includes if you have guests over for dinner. You will need to shuttle cars to another location to keep the number at 4.

Guests must provide license plates of all cars they plan to bring which I will forward to the village. This is a village rule and is non negotiable.

No outdoor amplified music. No bands, no parties, no weddings.

No Fireworks. Ever.

Nothing should ever enter a neighbors yard. This means children, pets toys, etc. If a ball goes into a neighbors yard you should play a different game.

Do not flush anything but toilet paper.

If you break something, let us know so we can replace it.

The space
My home is in a rural residential area of McFarland. It has one king bed. There is also sleeping space on the pull out couch in the living room. There is a large Roku TV (no cable TV-wifi only) in the living room and bedroom. *Please note the bathroom is connected to the bedroom. To access the bathroom guests will have to walk through the bedroom.* The home has a kitchenette equipped with all the essentials including coffee and tea. Home has central air. Smoking is NOT allowed. Only two vehicles are allowed.

Guest access
Guests have access to entire house, except for back storage area. You may fish on the piers behind the Boho in the summer months. Do not walk on piers past where the RV trailers begin. Do not walk on campground or campsites as it is private property and I don't own it. The owners will ask you to leave if you're on their property. Ice fishing is not allowed on the inlet. Guests are not allowed to walk on piers in winter months. Guests are not allowed to walk on ice. Please do not throw rocks on ice or water as it may cause damage to boats and props.

Other things to note
Only one dog allowed. A dog is NOT allowed without approval prior to booking. If you are interested in bringing your dog please let us know so we can discuss compatibility and options. Only a housebroken dog is allowed (sorry if your dog requires puppy pads or equivalent they are not allowed). Our insurance policy requires us to prohibit the following breeds: Akita, American Staffordshire Terrier (pitbull), Chow, Presa Canario, Rottweiler, Sharpei, German Shepherd, Wolf Hybrid Mix, or mixed primarily with a listed breed). Dog must be less than 50lbs. A dog that barks excessively is not allowed as there are others on the property. Please read the "House Rules" section for more details.

Boats and boat trailers are not allowed. We do not have a launch for kayaks, canoes, etc. There is a state of the art kayak launch just around the corner at Fish Camp County Park! Please let us know if you're planning on bringing any water equipment.

Additional guests that are not on the reservation are not allowed on the property. Visitors are not allowed on the property.

All types of trailers are not allowed on property.

This house is very strict on loud parties. Quiet hours are from 10pm-8am. Other people live on the property and there are neighbors so please keep voices low and music at a respectful volume.

Copy of government issued ID for each guest may be required to book. This is an adults only property.

Enjoy your one-bedroom home on a half-acre lot near Lake Waubesa and approximately 18-minute drive to Downtown Madison and the University. This second story 1100 square foot property was built in 2021 with quality interior finishes. It includes a beautiful kitchen that offers granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and is fully furnished for your cooking needs.

There is a large 300 square foot bedroom with a king size bed, and bunk beds that have a twin mattress on top and full mattress on the bottom. There are no pets allowed.

The garage is used for the owner's personal storage and usage, but there is parking available outdoors for the tenant. The owner also occasionally works around the outside of the property in the woods. Fire pit area is for owner use only.

Room for 8 adults plus children! Spend the day enjoying the lake and indulging in the beautiful views from the patio. Incredible home on Lake Waubesa with 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms! Our home sleeps 8 adults comfortably, and room for your kiddos too!

Our home is a very desirable location for a few reasons:

1. Located on one of the calmest Madison Lakes with the absolute best sunsets and views afar of the Madison Capital. The spacious deck provides plenty of room for guests to gather and enjoy the views. The deck is high quality composite material, which makes it so much more comfortable to walk on versus wood decking. The yard is also spacious and gives you room to play yard games while others are swimming! The bottom of the lake is predominantly sand.

The dining table on the deck has 6 surrounding chairs, along with 4 extra chairs, which makes for plenty of room for everyone to gather. There’s also the inside dining table, along with the oversized island that gives so much seating for eating or just gathering.

A Coleman gas grill is provided if you have the desire to cook a delicious home cooked meal or you can always do take out! There are plenty of options that are within just 2 minutes from our home! Dual fire pits are set up to enjoy for some ambiance after the sun sets!

Our home has two separate glass sliding doors that lead out to the spacious patio and yard. Each sliding door leading into one of the living rooms. Makes it great having the extra space and extra backdoor entry for the adults and the kids.

2. The master bedroom and master bathroom is on the main floor, while the other bedrooms are upstairs with their own bathroom! Every room is bright and welcoming giving you that “lake life” feel with its decor.

The master bedroom is very spacious, even with the king bedroom set. The master bathroom has a double vanity sink, which offers so much room while getting ready for the day, or winding down at night. The walk in shower in the master bathroom has a wonderful rain head shower, that is so relaxing after a long day in the sun.

Taking you upstairs, the bathroom provides a bathtub and shower. The bathtub is spacious for your child after a long day of swimming in the lake.

A pack and play and bassinet is provided for your little ones if needed. They are located in the upstairs closet (first bedroom on your left).

3. The location of our home makes it special as well! Not only do you have the lake right out your back door, downtown madison is just a quick 15 minute commute! Downtown Madison is known for its great restaurants, fun bars, and activities at the monona terrace. State Street provides so many fun things to do with friends and family!
And don’t forget the farmers market on The Square!

The entire home will provide full access, except the closet in the main bedroom. Guests will have a standing dresser to use in that space. We offer private bookings with a 23 ft, 2022 BARLETTA pontoon! This is subject to availability. Fits 15 guests.

Two kayaks will be provided for you to use during your stay! Lake Waubesa is one of the most popular kayaking areas along with fishing! Don’t have a boat, but want to go fishing? Stop next door at Barr’s Bait Shop to rent one of theirs!
